TruePAC: Coming to an election near you.

State Senator Chris McDaniel announced the formation of TruePAC to " to elect conservative leaders at every level who will lead Mississippi to a brighter future by implementing pro-growth, pro-free market policy once in office." The PAC is registered as the "True Conservatives PAC".

The Secretary of State's website states the True Conservatives  PAC was formed on July 31 and provides an Ocean Springs p.o. box as its address. The Director is Dane Maxwell and the Treasurer is Sharon Fancher. Linkedin states Mr. Maxwell is the CEO of Transportation Compliance Services. He served in the Marine Corps.  He was a member of Force Recon in the early 1980s.  The PAC does not have a website but does have a Facebook page:

TruePAC states "
Our mission is to promote and support conservative candidates running for political office in Mississippi. We support true conservative candidates that have demonstrated that they understand conservatism and have pledged to be a conservative political figure."

Mr. Maxwell told JJ that TruePAC would support conservative Republican candidates.  This correspondent pointed out to Mr.  Maxwell that were rumors of conservative Democrats sightings out in the wild but he said the committee would stick to the Republican side of the fence.  He said the PAC was formed in reaction to many things that have recently occurred in the state and not one specific event.  He said "several of us got together to form an effective tool and a grassroots effort to elect conservative Republicans".

Mr. Maxwell said neither he nor TruePAC had a relationship with Senator McDaniel.  He said "we will support any candidates who are conservative regardless of who they are now (meaning current officeholders.)  We are not interested in taking this PAC and using it to clean house.  If you are a conservative Republican, we are going to support you."  Mr. Maxwell said TruePAC will not limit itself to any particular type of election but can participate in county, legislative, and statewide elections.

Meaning, "we're looking to clean house next year." They've been telling us this is what they were excited about.

Oh great. Another way to beg for money.

The delicious irony of a white redneck from Mississippi naming a Tea Party ultra right wing PAC after a dead rapper is totally lost on Jones County.

A new potential revenue stream since the senate race is over. McDaniel is running one of the best campaigns-turned-grift I've seen in a long time.

Then don't contribute but please stop your bitching.

"Sharon Fancher Not lost............stolen! Two different things! No one here supporting Thad needs to cry when he loses in November cause the 40k Democrats he solicited/bribed/paid-off for $15 in the runoff or the 184k voters for Chris don't vote for him......if Mississippi turns blue suck it up buttercups! No one to blame but yourself!! Sooooo, NO CRY BABIES IN NOVEMBER REPUBLICANS! Chew on that!

"Sharon Fancher · Top Commenter · D'Iberville, Mississippi
Sen. Roger Wicker disagreed: “Tonight, President Obama used the prime-time moment to set forth a big-government agenda – not bipartisan solutions.

Sen. Thad Cochran said the president’s plan have too much government included: “The American people deserve opportunities to have quality jobs that empower families to provide for their children and get ahead. The Obama administration’s determination to increase the role of government in our lives has done the opposite.”

Seriously? You two have sat in DC for decades and done nothing but be complicit with administration after administration, Democrat and Republican, to grow gov't to the Leviathan that it is! As the kids say today.............Please! Chris McDaniel for Senate! Time to Replace Cochran! Wicker is next!

Dane Maxwell was Curt Hebert's Chief of Staff when Hebert was a Public Service Commissioner in the 90s. I think they were High School classmates at Pascagoula HS.
Dane Maxwell is the son of Robbie Maxwell, long-time Trent Lott staff fixer and recent Mayor of Pascagoula.
After his Lott service, Robbie Maxwell had a consulting business with partner Scott Walker that was involved with the recent fraud conviction of former d'Iberville city manager and Palazzo Chief of Staff Michael Janus.
Scott Walker and Bill Walker and Tina Hebert Shumate (Curt Hebert's sister) were all just sentenced for DMR fraud.
So please send your true conservative money to Dane Maxwell.

McDaniel is more immature than your average freshman College Republican. Most people outgrow being overzealous. Not him.

How does one go about proving they are a " true" conservative?

What are the issues upon which one is required to agree and who decides what those issue positions are?

What does " pro-business" mean? Magnolia Venture and the meat packing plant were scams presented as " pro- business".

Does a " true conservative" have to be against in vitro feertilization and birth control pills like the Parenthood Amendment folks?

Does a " true conservative" have to be for re-creation of the Committee for Un-American activities or think a MS legislature has the authority to define the geographical boundaries of Israel?

Does a " true conservative" have to be against open primaries? Or will I have to be a " card carrying" member of a political party even when an Independent isn't running, thus effectively not able to exercise my vote on which party in a given election best represents me?

Do we have to believe inerrancy?

Bill Buckley was for legalizing drugs. Was he not a " true conservative"?

Will we eventually have to learn to march in goose step and salute straight armed as well since we can't possibly be trusted to think for ourselves!?!

It was British conservative Edmund Burke (1729-1797) who distinguished between real conservatives, like Reagan, and right wing reactionaries nut-jobs like Chris McDaniel and his PAC, between a real conservative's appreciation of the pragmatic American Revolution that led to liberty (based on a long evolution of English rights), and abhorrence of ideological purity (which is where McD and his ilk are at) that in the French Revolution led to reactionary tyranny and bloodshed that the Bourbons could only have imagined. McDaniel is no conservative (and Reagan, who was, knew how to compromise with not demonize his friend Tip O'Neal). McDaniel and his PAC are reactionaries, not conservatives.

I am a Muslim , and a true conservative. Will never compromise , how can I join ?.

That'll cost you at least $35.

Mr. Maxwell says neither he nor TruePac have a relationship with McDaniel, but then Melanie Sojourner, McD. campaign manager et al posts this on McD Facebook page:

Melanie Sojourner
At this point all donations need to be focused on supporting the legal challenge.

After that there will be a focused need to donate monies to support legitimate conservative candidates and at that time a designated PAC to do so will be promoted.

Thank you to all McDaniel supporters for everything you've done.... this movement continues to be because of you!!

Seems like there might be some sort of relationship there after all....

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
