KF, last I heard, all of the supervisors were American citizens, not "Africans." I generally agree that certain members of the Hinds Cty. Bd. of Supervisors leave a lot to be desired, especially Mr. Graham, but the epithet isn't necessary.

And almost all politicians lie about whether or not they will run for office. Nothing new there. I do agree with calling him out on it.

Since name calling isn't changing the behaviors we think are inappropriate, perhaps another strategy should be considered.

I would suggest reaching out respectfully,trying to develop a relationship where you might share better ways of governing and convince the politicians that successful governance enhances their reputation in all quarters.

If they want to be remembered after they are gone, then governing successfully and leaving their community better than they found it will be key.

First they deprived all white citizens of Hinds County of representation. 30% of the voters are white. 52% of District 4 is white.

Then they tried their best to deny the voters of two districts their right to vote by saying they would not fund primaries. A white Republican, Connie Cochran, did more to look out more for the voting rights of black voters in District 2 than did Hunter, Stokes, Graham, and Derrick Johnson. He was no where to be found, wasn't he?

You forgot to mention that District 1 was already in compliance and needed no redistricting changes at all. But Lieutenant Robert Graham of the Jackson Police Department got his illegal professional services contract contractor 'Slush Fund' Johnson to secretly at the last hour move more black majority precincts into his district.

What planet has 8:30AM lived on since Snooker and BooBoo took control of the BOS. Respect is not in their vocabulary, and be-damned a legacy. They are pure radical racist, who have insulted and intimidated every white, or right thinking/honest person or entity that has approached them. There seems to be an extreme effort by them, and the Jackson, mayor and councilman to undermind any effort to improve Jackson, and Hinds County. What has kept Snooker and BooBoo out of jail, or from being impeached?

When I think of most members of
the Hinds BOS I am reminded of all the dictators of the world and there definately is no democracy in those places. They rule in the concept that they are all powerful and superior,showing no regard for laws or the welfare of the people they govern. They are greedy and self serving. In truth, they are a disgrace to all their citizens and heritage. Now tell me that is not a good description of many members of the Hinds BOS!

How is it that when white citizens say or do something they are called racists when people like Graham and Stokes are allowed to be racist on a daily basis but nothing is ever said or done. They are blatantly racist and don't care. They never hesitate to scream racism. They think someone owes them something.

The statement made by 6:52 that "almost all politicians lie about running for office", should that be the standard or something that is acceptable?

To me when you look at equality, there is good and bad in people of all races. It should not be acceptable for ANYONE, ESPECIALLY not someone who is elected to represent and serve the people to be racist or self serving, no matter what color they are.

If everyone, including the Hinds County BOS would be held to the standard that the great Dr. Martin Luther King used what would happen. Dr. King said it best, " a man should not be judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character". Enough said.

And, by the way, I am a very conservative white citizen who worked in higher levels of government for many years and belives that EVERYONE should be held accountable.

In my view, KF, using a racial epithet to make your point is not just wrong, but it also detracts from the fact that you are right with most of your criticism of Graham et al. You are more persuasive when you simply let the strong facts that support your opinions speak for themselves.

And while we're on black politicians allegedly, for racist purposes, taking actions aimed at hurting white folks, why not do a piece on the white Republicans in North Carolina(and elsewhere) passing the most draconian law since Jim Crow days that is intended to do one thing, disenfranchise minority voters(although a good many white people also are affected adversely; I guess they see that as acceptable collateral damage).

You aren't satisfied with merely expressing your own opinion about KF's choice of words. You and the other members of the political correctness mob want him to capitulate and admit to some sort of error or mistake.

1: If appointed, I will not run.
2: Files to run as a Democrat.
3: Oh, we might have Primaries and I have to go through that. Withdraws
4: We are going to have Primaries, so I'll file as an Independent so I only have to deal with one Democrat in the General election.

It's a shame that some commenters on here, like 1:15 p.m., break out in a rash if any viewpoint is expressed on here that doesn't completely adhere to their Fox "News" bubble view of the world. 1:15 ignores the fact that I generally agreed with KF's opinions about the HC Supervisors. He and I disagree with calling black folks "Africans," but that's okay. I understand and respect his viewpoint even though we disagree on that one issue.

And note to 1:15. I'm not going anywhere, especially not to the nutty people who follow Donna Ladd. Those extremists give legitimate progressives a black eye. KF runs an excellent news organization here. The JFP, which acted as the media arm of Mayor Johnson's re-election campaign, is a lot of things, but a legitimate media organization is not one of them.

Funny how people squawk about the use of the term "African Junta" while ignoring the elephant in the room. The man promised not to run if appointed and then turned around and qualified twice to run under 2 different party affiliations in a very short time period. I don't know about you, but that is a liar in my book.
