This is a repost from Friday as we just enjoyed a looong weekend. In a nutshell, the Secretary of State busted Derrick Johnson and the NAACP for operating a bogus charity. In reality it was a slush fund. Slush. Slush. Slush. Debit cards. Trips to Paris and LA. Officers signing checks made payable to themselves. $1.8 million budget in one year yet it still operated at a deficit of over $122,000. Overdraft fees of $1,600. Roughly 75% of the money went for salaries, consultants, travel, and conferences. S What does the state do? Not even a slap on the wrist. $500 fine for Mr. Johnson. Chump change as One Voice pays him $120,000 a year. Good job. Link to story. Story includes copy of consent decree and the 2012 tax return. Don't take my word for it. Read it for yourself.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

I'm curious where the "contributions and grants" came from. That's where the story will get interesting. There are a million little charities that feed a small circle of "advocates" trying to save the world, and at the end of the day they all think their efforts are worth a good salary. Question is, are there really that many "contributors" to this great cause OR are they simply cashing government grant checks and sending themselves to Europe? And who approved those "grants"?
Jackson is absolutely littered with non-profits and charities that are nothing more than fronts to pay salaries to "special" people that are far and away above market.
If these are Govt grants then the SoS office will turn this info over to the FBI
The FBI? LOL
You really think Comrade Obamainov's FBI is going to seriously pursue the leader of any state NAACP chapter?
The most corrupt Presidential administration in our history is simply not going to investigate and/or charge Derrick Johnson.
I would be sure to let the W.K. Kellogg Foundation know how their "grant" money is being spent. GEESH.
" Derrick Johnson in Paris " . . .
this should be a funny movie staring LeVar Burton, (filmed on location in Canton, MS.)
Government grants have funded many a lifestyle in Mississippi over the years. Look for example at the first black female mayor in Mississippi. Mayersville. Unita Blackwell was mayor for a decade or more. Spent large money provided by Ford Foundation and Kennedy Empire. Lived large for decades while 'her people' brought her water and ironed her sheets.
Same is true with grant money winding up in places like, ahem, Bolton MS. Idi Amin ain't got shit on these people. They all have the ability to convince themselves they've earned it.
Keep an eye on Lumumba too.
If you think this is bad, try peeking into the shenanigans behind some of the megachurches with prominent billboards around town. I know for a fact that one minister is pulling in on the order of $150,000 a month.
I'm a Christian. I'm not one of those tiresome Fondren-dwelling atheists who uses one person's abuse of Christianity as an excuse to discredit the Truth. But I am concerned that there are earnest people who are being fleeced, whether it is through progressive charities or God, Inc.
People tend to trust those who enter thankless positions like minister or charity coordinator. I know people in both those positions who do not pull in anywhere close to 6 figures a year (let alone a month). People like Derrick are abusing the public trust and are using people's trust and goodwill to get rich.
A $500 fine? Despicable.
Derrick Johnson doesn't give one hoot about "the public trust". Don't look for integrity there.
Not sure if this is an example of the worm turning or the circle going full. Take people, for example, who would never, ever contribute to a particular cause or agenda. Take that same person prodded by a shakedown artist who rather hesitantly agrees to write a check. The check goes from the unwilling (unwitting) contributor to the middle man and full circle back to the cause the man would never, ever send money to.
Which piper is being paid and which 'PO Folks' is gettin' fat? Who is rakin' off a percentage and who is holdin' the bag? Who is following a fluteless piper and which plane was caught by the tin-can drummer?
Look no further than Bennie, Jesse, Al, hundreds of charity CEOs, community organizers, NAACP leaders, preachers, descendants of well known trailblazers and a multitude of other hucksters.
God loves a good 3 chord praise song and stadium seating
To 10:44am, I have no interest in how churches choose to spend their income. Notice I used the word "choose." Churches have Boards of Directors in place, and the pastor operates at the pleasure of the board, and his salary is determined by the board. If a church is pulling in so much money that they can play their pastor over a million per year, while also meeting their other financial obligations, then so be it. What does that have to do with Mr Johnson's situation?
PittPanther....Try to pay attention. It has nothing to do with Johnson, per se. It has to do with the larger subject of black men who get themselves elevated to positions of power and float in enough cash to sink a farkin' battleship, typically through the power of persuasion, payoffs and picking pockets. There's a whole phenomenon out there if you'll just allow yourself to see it.
Church Mouse, you don't get it. If a church board chooses to pay its pastor an exorbitant salary, and its members are OK with their tithes and contributions going towards that salary, and all is above board and legal, then whining about it on KFs board is ridiculous. That pastor will need to explain himself come his own judgement day.
How much a pastor gets paid has nothing in parallel with a potential "slush fund" that skirts the borders of legality. It's a silly argument to try to make, and just exposes your own biases.
PittPanther Yeah, and I bet his "biases" are right in line with that guy who said "It is harder for a needle to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven" (paraphrased) - something that "pastors" would be expected to be familiar with, unless they're from a "prosperity church".
"LEDERSHIP"!?!?!
Derrick is not worried about "the other 47%" [When Mitt Romney spoke at a fundraiser held at Mark Leder's house in 2012, a video shows Mitt denigrating "the 47% of Americans" who, Romney said, "pay no income tax" and are "dependent upon government" and they "believe the govmint has a responsibility to care for them.... My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 per cent in the center that are independents."]
Folks, life ain't a black/white battle - it is rich/poor battle.
See Blackmon, Esq.'s Bentley; see Espy Esq.'s bling; see Derrick Johnson's abuses; they are not different than the Barbours, Hedermens, etc.
It is a battle of the GREEDY versus the NEEDY. Shame on Dilbert & Pickering for whitewashing so many current crimes and abuses of the public trust. They are gutless weasels. TOSS EM OUT!
The campers are unhappy Kingfish.
"All the people who struggled for justice true justice and here you [Derrick Johnson] are a man that holds the position to stand up for justice and you are using it in vain with the name of the NAACP," said Perry.

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Jackson NAACP member is calling on the national organization to investigation the relationship between state NAACP President Derrick Johnson and his charity. 'One Voice' recently came under the security of an audit by the secretary of state's office. Controversy is brewing over co-mingling of the two separate entities.
So, now we have it in Biblical lesson form from PittPanther that all this discussion is for nought since 'come judgment day' man will pay the piper. Isn't that sorta like telling the man bent over the bed at Parchman 'not to worry'; It'll be over soon and that guy will pay later'? What about that part of Panther's Bible that indicates 'money changers' should be thrown out of the Temple?
On one hand, people like Pitt will bemoan the salary of an oil company executive while, on the other, will dismiss as irrelevant the raping of a congregation by a preacher or the fleecing of a flock by a NAACP magnate. Greed is greed. Whether or not it's illegal is irrelevant.
How can a man, use Grant money in any form he wishes. Then all he gets is a measly 500.00 fine. The man is not honest and he should not be holding a position of Integrity. so why is he still there. Think about the fact that he suppose to be an attorney practicing law, shouldn't he be disbarred. And also the money he gave back to One Voice was probably the money of the NAACP. Evidently he has others higher up the ranks in his corner!
