Kidd extends TRO.

Hinds County Circuit Judge Winston Kidd extended the temporary restraining order preventing enactment of the "open-carry" law until July 12, 2013.  Judge Kidd will hold a hearing on that day to determine whether to convert the TRO to an injunction or determine whether the law is actually constitutional.  See my Twitter feed at kingfish1935 to read an account of today's hearing. Here are some pictures provided by the AP.  Rogilio Solis (AP) took these photos.

I hate how a Hinds County judge can dictate the course of a state law.

Do you have some special dislike for Pizzetta that makes you call him "Pizza Man"?

Ehh... I agree with you, but the upside is that when he finally takes action, his day in the sun is will be over and then he can go back to screwing up menial issues for the inmates - I mean citizens - of Hinds County.

You really are on the wrong website if you are going to be so anal. Hook yourself up to a colonic and surf over to the JFP's coverage.

John Horhn doesn't want you to open carry but if you're down for some sex with an underage female JSU Certified Community Leader Horhn says 'go for it'.

Messed up Jackson. Messed up Hinds County. Pathetic. Joke. Sad. Pitiful. State Supreme Court has no testicals but instead let kangaroo court hold a petition on 2nd Ammendment Rights and choose not to intervene. Jackson actually has some good people. We never hear about them because they are not stealing, robbing, carjacking or murdering. Those good people are being held captive by greedy, stupid, ignorant, lazy and power hungry leaders.

Jerry Moore said he was scared while interviewed on TV3. He is the laughing stock of law enforcement.

The "country" ain't buying it and yet you enlightened ones are so flummoxed that you need to reflexively post anonymously in Jackson, MS, of all places, about the supposed lengths of your future-sighting seeing new-age schlonngggs.

Keep yappin' yap dogs! One day your dream of inter-breeding will come true.

Kidd is enjoying his self-imposed day in the sun. After he's kicked to the curb on this shit, he'll return to being a dunce who let's hoodlums out onto the streets. Besides, his eyeballs are way too god damned big for a normal human. Who slid a shiv up his ass?

My immediate and extended family live in Jackson. We are concerned about crime and being victims of it. We are frustrated by political corruption, ambivalence, and incompetence. And yet, we love Jackson and remain committed to it because this is our home. The last thing my family and I want is to be sitting at a restaurant or a school function and be surrounded by some trigger-happy, overly paranoid people just looking for an excuse to "exercise their second Amendment rights."

Every person has the right to protect himself in his home. But Open-Carry is an invitation to misunderstanding, accidents, and potential chaos. It creates the illusion of safety without actually making anyone safer.

Don't change the subject 8:42. This is getting interesting.

A woman who wants to geaux jogging through Belhaven or Fondren should be able to carry a gun if she wants to without having to go through the process of getting a permit. Of course, I'm sure some of you would blame her for getting beaten and raped in the first place if it happened to her.

No Kingfish they just wouldnt believe it unless they were witness to said beating and raping... Oh for all you numb nut p*ssy boys out there 1/4 of this country already has these laws in place

8:42 isn't changing the subject, his/her post was my first thought as well. I think this Judge is playing the situation for personal publicity in his "community".

Note to 8:56 - you are now an even bigger soft target for the Jackson-Kush Peoples Reparations Assembly.

Next time you and the family are dining (after dark) at one of the many funky & hip bistros in the downtown / arts district, it would be advisable
not to wear the birkenstocks and park the Subaru in a secure area.

Even after Sandy Hook, you retards couldn't get any gun control passed. So yeah, keep "winning."

Clip Holds Nine said...

Let's turn this conversation where it belongs. RACE. The group of black men posing on the steps and crying out for the restraining order couldn't care less about crime or the second ammendment. Nor do they have a concern about black boys carryin', since they already DO. They are concerned only because white men and boys who ride four wheelers and wear ball caps might exercise their right to open carry. The group on the steps is still ruled and driven by their flawed perception and prejudices about the white boogey-man.

The Libertarian said...

Clip is absolutely correct. In my daily travels I've heard no less than, now 7, black people talking about how scared of this "new" law they are. Why is it just them? Why do black people, who have been targets for crime AND for corrupt governments, seem to want the government to be the only ones who can bear arms?

Tecum, Judge Kidd is hardly a dunce. Is he the best Circuit Judge in the state? No. He is competent and actually works every day however. He recently sentenced a criminal to life without parole and another one to 20 years without parole, both violent crimes.

Anonymous said...

Showing up to work and actually working are two different things. He ain't the law and order judge you are trying to make him out to be.

July 8 at 6:23 said constable Jerry Moore "is the laughing stock of law enforcement."

A constable is not REAL law enforcement. The position is outdated and useless and the duites (serving papers) should be given to deputies who are REAL law enforcement. At least a deputy has to answer to someone - the sheriff. Some constables think they can do what they want (e.g. bust down doors, give legal advice, etc.) regardless of the law.

Call Him Out said...

Kidd's every action is dictated by his notion of neighborhood perception and some doodling thought that he is wearing a white hat among the proletariat. If he gave a rat's ass about law and order, he wouldn't be releasing hoodlums and punk-asses back into the community. He simply wants Horne and Simmons to think he has power. Gets him free drinks at the club.

Oh, Mr. Crowley, meant to give you props on your website too. I found it by accident one day and can't stop reading.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
