Kingfish note: The post is about the Twin Creeks project. I
inadvertently wrote "Twin Lakes" in the title. The fault is mine and
mine alone. My apologies.
Bigger Pie Forum reports the Mississippi Development Authority can not say who will pay for the loan on the failed Twin Creeks project:
"In 2010, Mississippi loaned California-based startup Twin Creeks Technologies more than $20 million for a building via the city of Senatobia in exchange for the promise of 500 jobs. Twin Creeks employed about 15 people before closing shop. Now the company has been bought, and the question of who will pay back the loan to the Mississippi Development Authority and Mississippi taxpayers remains.
"(GT Advanced Technologies) might take over the lease. We don’t know yet. It’s just very hard for me to say – we are working with the same attorneys we have been working with on Twin Creeks. Right now, I don’t have any answer to that question." Gelston added: "I will be surprised if they take over the lease."
"MDA would remarket that building. Any loan repayments they have due while there wasn’t a lessor there we would probably postpone."

twin what?
How did this work? Did get they a $20 mil loan then get bought, loan and all? Shouldn't the new owner pick up payments?
A third party is owed the money by MDA so I guess we tax payers make the payment.
