Sometimes, being in the top fifty is not a good thing. Exhibit A.
With all the blight, this is not really a surprise. The solution is obvious: more stray cats.

Nahhh, we got a lot of rats in Jackson. Mostly elected officials.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen rats downtown or anywhere around really. Lot of abandoned buildings in Jackson, but it’s a whole lot cleaner than most cities. Thanks to patriots and heroes like Locke Ward and DJP.
That's a fake survey. Anyone who ever lived in NOLA knows that city is infested with river rats which will calmly munch on leftover bags of potato chips in the middle of the day in the middle of the neutral grounds while balefully staring at you as you walk by.
All of the rats are in city hall, and one of them is almost 450lbs!
I'd rather have rats than cats.
Mostly blue cities. What a shock.
Not to be that guy, but are there any major red cities?
Wonder what Terminix will charge to get rid of the species City Hall Rat?
The absence of New Orleans on this list basically makes it null and void.
Jackson snakes eat the rats. Black Rat snakes, Cotton Mouth Water Moccasins, Timber Rattlers... Can't the homeless vagrants chip in?
"Rather rats than cats."
Nomination for brilliant observation!
Newark, NJ isn't on the list. It's a commercial, ala "The Best Steakhouses in the US" nonsense in airline and other such magazines. Anyway, self-proclaimed rat-counters, along with "funded" rat-counters, are dubious, at best.
