A shootout took place between some hoodlums on McDowell Road in front of Key Elementary. Although the information is not verified, one woman posted on Facebook:
It was a shootout in front of key elementary, with 2 guys. The bullets did come inside the school through the cafeteria. No one was hurt or injured. All the students and teachers are accounted for. No one was walking through the highways of key elementary with a gun. In order to get into the school building, you would have to get buzz in, or someone would have to open the door for you from the inside. ...
JPS said the students are safe.
Update: JPD said no one was injured.

Jackson will never get business to move back in with this violences going on.
Imagine how much worse Jackson would be without the zoo.
Another reminder of why you should do all that you can to send you kids to private school.
Schools are gun free zones so this report has to be incorrect.
Who, in Jackson, wants businesses to 'move back in'?
I believe if I were going to public school in Jackson and was old enough to join the army, I would do so for safety reasons.
We need to arm those kids so they can fire back.
12:54 For the win.....that is FUNNY!!!!!!
Shooting near a school is illegal. How could this happen? Oh wait, this is Jackson. Disregard.
If this story is true, the guns involved were illegal, illegally possessed, likely stolen. Surprise roadblocks and searches can be legally arranged as was done in Memphis where hundreds of guns were seized and arrests made, simultaneously reducing violent crime. Does Dokka Chief resent legal roadblocks and searches as intrusive, racist, insensitive or too effective?
This has to be Trump's fault. Or Tate's fault.
They made it sound since the shooting did not occur inside the school, EVERYTHING is just fine.
2:04 you must be Bill Crawford
