A building home to the rite of passage for many came tumbling down today. Yup. They finally blew up the old Department of Public Safety building in Jackson this morning. Watch it all.
Of course, the state had to violate the Constitution this morning to make this happen. MDOT shut down the interstates and Woodrow Wilson to facilitate the demolition, violating the constitutional rights citizens have to travel. The right is absolute yet somehow the state managed to violate it.

Good thing they saved all the KKK material out of that building
Your ignorance is showing as usual. Closing one road while keeping an alternate route is not the same as detaining an individual and infringing on their rights to travel. Nice try though, jimmy boy.
Can you describe the ruckus, sir?
This went much better for the photographers than back when Atlanta had a bus stop right in front of the demolition of the Georgia Dome as it was initiated. Very interesting and a good view of the process.
Thanks Kingster, fun to watch! Good location for a Dollar General.🌞
Good spot to put some trees
I watching it live on an MDOT traffic cam. Cool. I find it ironic that even a law enforcement facility has moved out of Jackson.
Is anything going to be built in its place?
The state and its subdivisions violate the Constitution all the time. Just look at the city of Brandon's ordinance with no firearms and parts. Ever heard of the bruen supreme court decision?
good! byyyyyyeeeee
Where are they moving to ?
What are you talking about?
There is no right to travel on an interstate highway in the Constitution. Of course, they (the state and feds) violate the Constitution continuously.
It’s not a violation if there was a compelling state interest in order to protect the public.
1 down, 100 more to go.
How absolutely dumb was it to move the DPS out of Jackson? That is the one thing that NEEDS to be there.
That was and remains a terrible site for a high-traffic destination. The parking and access was terrible. Of course the entire UMMC campus is that way.
4:54 actually it makes sense. You don't want the Department of Public Safety located where there's no reasonable expectation of public safety.
What the hell are you talking about?
