JPD issued the following statement.
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Jackson Police Department detectives were conducting an interview with 22-year-old Cameron Mitchell in connection with an armed robbery investigation. During the interview, Mitchell became combative and physically assaulted multiple detectives. Mitchell headbutted two detectives, kicked one detective in the stomach, and bit another detective. He subsequently headbutted one of the detectives a second time and bit another detective. The detectives called for assistance, and additional personnel responded to JPD Headquarters. Police personnel were eventually able to gain control of Mitchell and secure him without further incident. AMR responded to JPD Headquarters to evaluate the injured detectives. One detective was transported to a local hospital, and treated for minor injuries. As a result of the assaults that occurred during the interview, Mitchell is also being charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Mitchell was arrested earlier Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Service and charged with Armed Robbery of an Individual. The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

5’ 7” and 150 Ibs but couldn’t be restrained by 3 police officers?
I thought he got arrested by Capitol in February. That's what the news outlets are reporting.
5'7" and 150 lbs, that's big trouble in a smol package.
According to the news there were 5 policemen in an elevator with the man. The man was in handcuffs and shackles, He sent one policeman to the hospital and did damage to the other 4. Was this man some ninja specialist and all five officers not able to handle him? I think if five police officers could not handle a small man, handcuffed and in shackles in an elevator there is something we need to know about.
Disband JPD, increase and fully fund CPD….
It appears JPD greatly underestimated the powers of Tiny Warrior, the Wachootoo warrior who bested Ace Ventura in hand to hand combat. It’s the size of the fight in the dog, gentlemen.
Do not EVER underestimate one of these. They are faster than lightning and most have a lifetime of fighting experience. He will kill you in a microsecond.
Euwww. Better get a rabies shot.
They were taking him to the Judges that allowed him to walk the streets over and over until he kills!
This whole story is sad....JPD is a JOKE and the judges that set these stellar individuals free over and over again are pathetic as well.
This is the true definition of CULTURE ROT!!!!! Just look at the majority of all the recent crimes.....
Why is he still able to walk?
Were the cops all 5-0 and 90#?
A good ole fashioned ass whooping in the elevator would be appropriate cause the Judge will probably give him one more chance to harm the citizens.
It seems that if the JPD cops can't use their firearms they have lost the fight.
The perp was on a elevator with the 4 JPD officers. The officers had to keep one hand on their pistol and subdue the perp with the other hand. They did the best they could under the conditions they were in. Not an easy job.
The judge will ponder, “what did y’all do to him”, then again, I wonder which detective was on the damn cell phone?
9:42 - You've obviously never been in a situation like that. You naivety is astounding.
Oh please. Spare us.
The cops were all texting.
