It finally happened. Our favorite squatter's residence finally burned down.
The cause of the fire is under investigation? Let us help you out, Jackson Fire Department. JJ first reported on this abandoned Northview Drive home in February.
Squatters moved in around the beginning of the year. Although the house did not have electricity or gas, the squatters were determined to stay warm. Using some good ole fashioned American ingenuity, they started their own fire inside the house, as evidenced by the smoke coming out of the chimney.
The bums were determined to turn this house into their home. JJ reported in April they actually put up a fence.
They continued to build a fence but added something to the property in June.
Yup. A new fence, no trespassing sign, and a guard dog. Surely the start of an adverse possession claim. Now the homeless are homeless yet again. It was only a matter of time before the house burned down.
The house on 3882 Northview Drive is owned by Harmony Properties in Georgia.

Tax the s--- out of owners who let property sit abandoned and in squalor. Especially if they are out of state opportunists who never see the effects of their neglect and are never held accountable in a way that would deter this.
How can Jackson even have a chance when out of state algorithms are buying up city lots unseen and just sitting on them?
harmonyproperties.com is offline and has been for at least a year. Another ghost company that owns real property in Jackson
Oh no where will Jackson homeless live? Well there is always section 8 in Fondren
It's unhoused these days in the liberal cities.
It probably won't buff out.
I'm surprised it hasn't burned until now. I ride by there daily going to the post office for my work and have seen all the craziness going on there. I noticed today one of their cars burned up in the fire as well. I saw somewhere this morning on Facebook a guy was found outside an apartment on Northside with burned clothes and he was apparently burned pretty bad and sent to UMMC.
Flames seem hungrily licking 1948, sappy yellow pine framing.
Good riddance, any former "residents" want a ride to Byram, holla.
They should let it burn. Why put it out?
