Attorney General Lynn Fitch issued the following statement.
Today, the Office of the Attorney General announced it has completed the review of a June 14, 2026 incident in Senatobia involving one officer with the Senatobia Police Department. In this incident, the Attorney General’s Office found the use of force was justified. Pursuant to Section 45-1-6 of the Mississippi Code, the review followed an investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

After the questionable prosecution of the two JPD officers, the AG is trying to get back into the good graces (votes) of LEOs.
That’s some bullshit
Why am I not surprised?
So did they arrest the shoplifter and her accomplice and charge them with child endangerment too?
The police can "feel scared" and their use of force of justified, but for private citizens you literally have to get seriously injured before using force.
What kind of a mother takes a child out shoplifting?
Is this the walmart parking lot shooting of the toddler?
Yeah, the blue haired crowd will never be satisfied, but then, they have never faced a speeding car coming AT them with the intent to run them over.
And like it has been reported, ALL because of some pampers, except, the driver was trying to flee ALL because of some pampers.
@1:26 this situation aside, just speaking to that one point you had, no you do not have to get seriously injured. You have to have reasonable belief that imminent harm will come to you or others. In other words, if your pointing a 357 at Mrs. Johnson at the grocery store and you are shaking screaming, the law green lit your ass for removal from society. This situation specifically, I don't think he met the criteria for use of deadly force because seemingly all he had to do was step to the side, but that is Monday morning quarterbacking on my part.
Too little, too late Lynn.
We wont ever voting for you again.
No wonder people don’t trust law enforcement anymore
Why hasn’t the police body cam video been released? Why was no one ever charged with shoplifting? If they were shoplifting why did the cops not handcuff them before they drove off? They were detained on suspicion of shoplifting then allowed to get in their car and leave. There’s a lot of missing information here.
Don’t you know when you have a gun and a badge your above the law
Of course it was justified. The mouth breathers will never be satisfied unless it fits their predetermined outcome.
Detained at Walmart simply means a Walmart loss prevention employee asked the individual or individuals to stop and step into their office. The individuals DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLY with walmart... Walmart then calls law enforcement. If someone wants to take off they do and by rules of Walmart they cant chase after them.... last time I checked Walmart employees dont have handcuffs or arrest power, therefore they can walk away without cuffs
From what I understand, MBI has the whole investigation and they usually take longer than locals.
And if you dont have a gun and a badge all u do is sit behind ur desk an bitch.... get your scared ass up and look the devil in his eyes... make sure to bring your baby wipes for your sensitive ass
So that brings us back to why was nobody ever charged or arrested? And a 1 yo ends up dead!
Call the that Walmart location and ask them, they are the ones that sign the charges.. im sure they will explain everything
I doubt Walmart wanted to press charges after the dimwits managed to get the baby killed by involving him/her in their crime.

Why don't you ask Ben Crump? Or has he moved on to greener pastures?
The bigger piece of shit is the one that used her baby as a meat shield.
I know 1 year children are scary! I would be afraid of a baby in diapers too!!!!!
It takes a REAL man to kill a one year old child!
The decision was based on evidence, not emotion. That is what determined the result. However, Walmart will still get sued, a settlement will get paid, and everyone will talk about the victim with no one holding the driver accountable. Same shit, different day, more bad behavior gets rewarded.
But the baby was coming right for him. You make that split second choice of either taking a step to the right or shooting a baby and see how you’d react. This cop heroically shot that baby.
Everyone agrees that it was tragic for the child to die, but this is all about where one assigns blame. If you're the kind of person who is willing to engage in a criminal act with your young child in tow, then you will think blame is always best placed elsewhere. But if you are among those who understand that your child depends on you not just for the necessities of life but also for good decisions that will keep them safe, then this decision came down where it should.
Mississippi Today states that the MBI turned over the entire investigation to Lynn Fitch who then chose not to prosecute. This is a done deal. Final score is Baby killing cops 1 - dead babies 0. It’s a clean sweep for the baby killing crowd.
What kind of human shoots a baby?
Where are you getting this info? Speeding right at them? Intent to run them over? Do you have the bodycam video? It appears Lynn Fitch doesn’t want that video released for some peculiar reason since it obviously exonerates the baby killer.
Clearly the silence from Ben Crump on this case means he saw the video from they body cameras and thought there was no case. He'll hem and haw again if this hits national press, but considering how much he has shown he will lie, that must be really damning video to keep Crump silent.
The police officer went to work that day to protect the citizens of Senatobia, but he has a duty, too, to go home to his family, safe and sound. When he woke up that morning, he certainly did not set out to take the life of a child. The mother wasn't driving the car, but the mother most certainly knew her driver did not pay for those diapers and was shop lifting, and she right then and there could have not gone along with putting her child in harms way. This entire situation is so incredibly sad and I pray for the child's family, no one should lose a baby under any circumstances. But I pray for the officer and his family, too. If anyone is to blame for this, it is the MOTHER!
10/19 at 3:39 PM - Well said.
The police should be sued not Walmart. Walmart didn’t tell them to murder that baby!
I agree one standard for law enforcement another for everyone else
" the AG is trying to get back into the good graces (votes) of LEOs. "
Fitch is trying to get back the votes of quite a few folks.
If it was your one year old child would you still say this? Mississippi doesn’t give the death penalty for shoplifting! The cop was the one who made the decision to kill the baby!
2:08 your post is bullshit. You either heard that down to the church house or at the club. None of your post is true.
No! It’s the officer who chose to kill the baby
Hey Lynn, everyone that supports law enforcement is done with you. I’m sure they make red pajamas for great grandmothers you could order.
Latoya Ferrell tried to kill a police officer and the windows were so tinted that the police officer couldn’t see the baby, that should have been in a car seat. What a damn shame. They could’ve spent the window tint money on several boxes of diapers.
Why are they refusing to release the camera footage?
@7:47, that’s cold blooded but true. All NE MS LE agencies are smiling to her face for these drug arrests she released today, all the while supporting someone else. Karma.
You overweight armchair quarterbacks have never had to make a split second decision like this officer did. So shut up.
WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE gonna finally learn ? it take the feds to flush this toilet in senatobia.
Does Lynn not realize the ham-handed way she's run the AG office means she doesn't have a snowball's chance to be governor?
Buckle up. Guarantee Fitch ran this by U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche's office already for the thumbs up. Now watch the mother get charged with the death of her child during the commission of a crime.
@1:10 - why would they arrest the victim?
The decision was based on the judgement of Lynn Fitch. The lack of accountability means no lessons will be learned by the police department with a troubling racist history. The only lesson learned is that if a cop shoots a black baby, Lynn Fitch will protect them. She’s like an angel of protection for the worst of the worst. Mississippi has a long ways to go and Lynn Fitch will only make that path longer and more difficult. Elections have consequences, get out and vote these terrible people out of office and let her go scam some lobbying firm for the rest of her failed career.
@3:39 - where does the accountability come for racist cops who shoot into occupied cars? I couldn’t bring myself to ever shoot a baby, but I’m not a giant POS. I guess you and me just differ in our baby murdering capacity.
@4:07 - he was on the news yesterday asking for the bodycam to be released. Why lie about that? You must enjoy when babies get murdered, you seem just delighted.
@8:19 - it’s got to be tough not to murder that baby in the few seconds. Think about what the officer knew - there’s 3 black people in a car and the Walmart security says they may have stolen some diapers for the baby that’s with them. Then you see them drive by and only have a couple seconds if you want a clean kill without a trial. In those couple seconds, this cop had to decide whether letting this baby live would haunt them for the rest of his life. Tough decision to make.
The victim is the baby that should have been in a car seat. The guilty is the person driving the car to attempt to run over the cop. She was already on probation for contempt of court. The girl driving is responsible for this mayhem.
If anyone deserves blame for this, it’s racist Mississippians like @4:11 who have made cops comfortable executing black babies in our state. No one should think this is ok, but the way so many quickly dismiss this as justified is beyond troubling. It’s 2026 and Mississippi is still decades away from being decent.
All you lettuce-heads bitching about body camera footage. Evidence in any criminal investigation is not required to be publicly available; however, let's assume the video is made available. It won't reveal what you people think it will so then you'll claim it's been doctored by wyt people and you'll require that a black forensics expert, chosen by Crump, Sharpton and Obama, view the original video for evidence of doctoring. You people will never be satisfied.
"Walmart will still get sued, a settlement will get paid,"
You don't have much experience suing Walmart, do you?
Walmart has a long history of fighting every claim, no matter how weak or strong.
She’s trying to get the Trump voters excited. Judging by the comments, she accomplished her goal and then some.
4:11 here. I'm not racist. I am reasonable, though. My heart breaks for the innocent child that died. That precious baby died, he was not murdered. I hate that you can't put things into reasonable perspective and understand that had the mother (and mother's friend/driver) had not made the poor decision to be out shoplifting the police officer would have never been involved. Just like others have said, it's a hard call to make, almost impossible, when you have a split second to save your own life while you have a car coming at you.
