The Comeback Begins

Measles is making a comeback.  The Center for Disease Control announced:

As of December 30, 2025, a total of 2,065 confirmed* measles cases were reported in the United States. Among these, 2,041 measles cases were reported by 44 jurisdictions: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York City, New York State, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. A total of 24 measles cases were reported among international visitors to the United States.

There have been 49 outbreaks** reported in 2025, and 88% of confirmed cases (1,820 of 2,065) are outbreak-associated. For comparison, 16 outbreaks were reported during 2024 and 69% of cases (198 of 285) were outbreak-associated.

The CDC provided more information:

Border states suffered the most cases.

The CDC is defunct and serves no credible purpose.

How the heck did we (MS) miss that? Maybe we were included in that "Landmass between"?

This is what happens when one idiot appoints another idiot Secretary for Health and Human Services

Somewhere, Charles Darwin is shaking his head.

Anonymous said...

1:42 you have a lot of nerve calling someone an "idiot" while making a statement like that.

Anonymous said...

I think all doctors should be banned and all citizens should never get health care again. That will fix it

Anonymous said...

This will what unchecked illegal immigration yields.

Allow millions across border with no vaccine, real head scratcher

Anonymous said...

No, 1:42, this is what happens when people are too paranoid, stupid, and/or lazy to get their kids vaccinated.

import third world - import third world diseases

They answered a lot of questions. Just missed a pretty important one. How many were illegals? Seems like we have had lot of diseases around since Joe let millions of illegals come into our country.

Anonymous said...

Just wondering, when can we stop blaming “Joe” and “Barry” for our current problems?
Get your heads out of your asses, thanks - from the rest of us.

1:42 PM Don't choke on the news that you absorb from The View. The measles outbreak is because of the millions of ILLEGALS who bring diseases here.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, a few thousand kids whose parents pass on the vax are the problem. Not the 12 million Biden let in with a vax. How many millions did Obama let in without a vax?

Anonymous said...

The big measles outbreak happened among the Amish in Texas early in the year, who got it from foreigners brought in by Joe Biden, so trying to blame it on Trump or RFK Jr. or recent anti-vax sentiment is wrong and incredibly dishonest.

Whenever the lefties stop blaming Trump for their mess.

True. Fauci already made his multi-million$.

It's a Mennonite Measles outbreak that is spreading into other populations in both the United States and Canada.

Anonymous said...

Measles doesn’t care if it’s in an “illegal” crossing the boarder or a “legal” air traveler visiting the U.S. (of which there are millions). It’s an extremely communicable and infectious disease that we have a highly effective vaccine to prevent. The vaccine has worked so well that the ignorant masses have begun to question the need for it. Instead, opting for toilet Facebook research and listening to podcasters. We brought this upon ourselves by defunding education and exalting reality TV stars.

@3:48 - take the Fox News propaganda schlong out of your throat and perhaps try getting your “news” from somewhere that hasn’t settled for hundreds of millions of dollars in lawsuits for lying to their viewers. Maybe. Nah, I know you won’t.

Anonymous said...

The CDC wants you to live in fear of Measles and others diseases. Even if you are not vaccinated against measles or influenza, you can survive it and develop natural immunity. Measles is not the big scary Death Germ they want you to believe it is.

Anonymous said...

Import disease carriers- expect diseases

Anonymous said...

3:48, You mean all those illegal Mennonites in West Texas, where the biggest outbreak this year started?

Anonymous said...

Since Joe and Barry are responsible for 30 million illegals leeching off the US economy, draining medical resources, polluting us with diseases and jacking up the crime rate, it will sadly be centuries for us to blame them.

Anonymous said...

Instead of blaming other people regardless of whether they are native born Hassidic jews in NYC or primitive religion types in western states, tourists from Canada or France or elsewhere, everyone should get vaccinated and vaccinate their children. My 59 y/o old sister was born profoundly deaf because our mother contracted Rubella during her pregnancy with my sister BEFORE there was a vaccination. Read what Rubella does to an infected fetus in utero if you're planning to get pregnant.

Anonymous said...

Let’s remember illegals can’t readily go a hospital or doctor. These cases are from people refusing to get their kids vaccinated. People in Miss. are smart enough to know it’s the right thing to do.

Anonymous said...

Lots of Fondren lefties on here sharing the "news" from The View.

Anonymous said...

Is there an outbreak in South America , or is it just the people here in the US?

Anonymous said...

I just want to take a moment to let yall folks know that not all Mennonites are white. Unlike the Amish, Mennonites drive cars and will fly on airplanes and have established missionaries all over the world. Mennonite chirches can be found from Hong Kong to Kampala, Manila, and even Caracas. This has led to them welcoming other races into the church and marry them and have families.

And the Mennonite measles outbreak has not taken lives. They are totally unconcerned.

Mennonites aren’t the ignorant backward people you might think they are. Most of them are better travelled and speak more languages than your average Mississippi Southern Baptist. Mennonites just try to maintain a plain, pacifistic, and simple Godly life.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, but we’ll just quarantine ourselves, maintain social distance and mask up when we have to get out for a run to the liquor store or for to fetch some toilet paper. The CDC guidelines worked so well last time, after all.

Anonymous said...

Measles is fake news. Robert Kennedy says so. So shut up.

Anonymous said...

Ruh roh. Stock up on water, TP, hand sanitizer, and masks.

Anonymous said...

You Fauci bootlickers would be funny if we hadn’t lived through literal tyrrany based on his lies.

Anonymous said...

@8:40. Two unvaccinated Mennonite children died.

Kingfish said...

No one thinks it is a big scary death germ. Like most diseases, there are populations that suffer more than others from the disease. In this case its pregnant women and children to young to be vaccinated. Measles does kill children although in small numbers. It is highly contagious. There is a reason school systems used to shut down during measles outbreaks.

Unfortunately, the CDC and government screwed up the Covid-19 response so badly that people now do not trust our public health system . Thanks, Fauci.

Anonymous said...

KF -The biggest reason we now distrust the CDC is a non-medical, non-scientific, tobacco chewing, former heroin addict, ambulance-chasing creep named RFK, Jr. who was appointed by Trump.

Anonymous said...

Would you please say it again for the biased clowning idiots in the back?

Anonymous said...

How do people look at a graph that goes from effectively zero to significant numbers in early 2025 and conclude that it's the fault of illegal immigrants? This isn't a partisan question, it's a "can the people around me read" question. Illegal immigrants have been with us in large numbers for decades. They did not suddenly arrive in January 2025.

Why bother trying to persuade people with facts at all if a large, loud percentage are just going to say "a witch did it" no matter what "it" is or what the data show?

Kingfish said...

Probably because that map shows the most cases are in border states.

Anonymous said...

Don't know about you but I began to distrust the CDC screwed the whole country with their handling of

2:58 PM it will take a long time to repair all of the damage Joe and Barry did to this country. Especially when we have so many people who do even realize how much damage they did to it.

Anonymous said...

Kansas, South Carolina, and the many, many northern states that went from zero to double digits are not border states.

Anonymous said...

Please do not tell us that you do not know about Joe and Barry giving the illegals free hospital care. I tried for over six months to get an appointment with my VA doctor before I was told my doctor was not available because he was taking care of the illegals. Sort of hard for me to believe the VA was willing to give free health care for people invading our country while refusing to treat those who defended our country.

Dunning Krugerism is always working said...

In perhaps the most predictable bit of news ever, an unvaccinated person may have spread measles while visiting Ark Encounter, the Creationist “Noah’s Ark” attraction in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Department of Public Health issued an exposure alert on Wednesday:

https://www.facebook.com/KyPublicHealth/posts/health-officials-have-identified-potential-measles-exposures-in-grant-county-ken/1192362872999800/

Health officials have identified potential measles exposures in Grant County, Kentucky. An unvaccinated, out-of-state traveler stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Dry Ridge from December 28 to 30, 2025 and visited the Ark Encounter on December 29, 2025.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children. Vaccination is the best protection against measles. Immunization against measles comes through the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine

1:22, the very fact that some entity has sent you here, to deliver that carefully-crafted little attempt at a slapdown, tells us all we need to know about the "crisis", and the "danger". (A few minutes ago, I ran across these words, on boriquagato's Substack: "See which side seeks to censor and silence the other. That is the side that you cannot trust." Seems to me, you're attempting to censor unprofitable knowledge, by tainting it with associations with Fundamentalists. So.)

Into the shredder, just this morning, I sent a packet from a giant entity supposedly "fighting" childhood cancer. I've never heard or read a single word for them, about PREVENTING cancer in children.

There's a whole list of things to avoid, if one wants a cancer-free child. One of those things to avoid, is a supposed "preventative" for something else - the preventative being a very profitable product - a product which arguably increases the likelihood that those who receive it, will become heavy lifetime consumers of an entire array of the Medical/Pharmaceutical Industry's other profitable offerings.

Those "cancer-fighting heroes" won't be getting a Cent, a Sou, or a Shekel, from me.

Instead of your little slapdown, you COULD have offered standard wisdom regarding the lessening of Measles' severity. It's a virus. We're living in the Post-AIDS Era, and viruses are far better understood, now.

But helping 'disappear' that hard-won understanding, is part of your job, I suppose.

And we have an early leader for post of the year.

What gets me is how liberals have flipped from "Big Pharma" and "Big Insurance" are evil to becoming apologists for the same. In 2025 I saw Eliz. Warren talking about the "tiny" profits made by Big Pharma and Bernie Sanders denying he was receiving Big Pharma funding and then the internet blew up with the proof of the charge.

Health issues should never be political. All the blue and red knuckle draggers and mouth breathers should read some basic science and medical literature since they clearly are uneducated rubes who took PE instead of chemistry and biology in high school.

i was vaccinated for measles on thr proper infant schedule but I still caught it around age 12. I lived in Forest MS and we also got our first illegal alien students that year.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
