The New Orleans Saints issued the following statement.
The New Orleans Saints have announced today that Head Coach Dennis Allen has been relieved of his duties. Special Teams Coordinator Darren Rizzi has been named interim head coach. Allen was named the head coach of the New Orleans Saints on February 8, 2022. He became the 17th head coach in the franchise's history. "Dennis has been part of our organization for many years. He is highly regarded within the NFL. He has been extremely loyal and professional and most importantly an excellent football coach for us. All of this makes today very tough for me and our organization," said Saints Owner Gayle Benson. "However, this decision is something that I felt we needed to make at this time. I wish nothing but the best in the future for Dennis and his family. He will always be considered in the highest regard by me and everyone within our organization." "DA is an excellent football coach," said Saints Executive Vice President and General Manger Mickey Loomis. "This season, we have had an avalanche of injuries. It took its toll. DA has never offered excuses, he fought each day for this organization and this team and that is what makes today disappointing. Dennis has been an integral part of this organization's success for the better part of twenty years. He will be missed."Kingfish note: The firing was due but if Mickey Loomis is kept on board, nothing will change. This is the Saint's real problem and why it may not matter who the new coach is.

The owner, general manager, player development coordinator, strength coach, Vice President of Recruiting, Head Chef and Team Bus Driver all say he was an excellent coach, gave it his all, was a blessing to the program and will be tough to replace, but....we gonna fire dat boy's ass anyway. We gots no more comment at dis here time.
If only Dallas Cowboys would…
Would it matter? Jerry is not going to hire a coach who would demand he give up the GM role. Truth is, the Green Bay disaster was a gut punch from which Dallas has not recovered.
haven't seen the saints so low since the end on the ditka eara when ditka won only 15 games in 3 seasons.
For Anon@ 7:17 a.m. - The Ain'ts have had one real good season out of 58. That was fifteen years ago, in 2009. For the statisticians out there, that's a 0.01724 success rate and a .98276 failure rate.
New Orleans, for hundreds of years, has been famous for curses and hexes.
Will Hall is available. Oh, wait, they want to win? Never mind
