It is the fourth day of the Carly Gregg trial. Will the case go to the jury today? Tune in below and see.
If you watch the Court TV feed on Youtube, you can see the chat function. You have to be a Court TV member to use the chat feature but it's a nice way to see reactions to the courtroom drama in real time.
Judge Arthur allowed the defense to enter Dr. Andrew Clark's psychiatric evaluation of Carly Gregg into evidence even though it was submitted well after the deadline. The inability to follow the basic rules of criminal procedure continues to be a theme with Gregg's defense attorneys. Judge Arthur made it clear he wanted to exclude the report, which would be required under the rules. However, the jurist observed similar decisions have been reversed on appeal and he has no desire to see this case again.
Note: Can't say I blame the judge for accepting the report. It is the 15 year-old who faces prison, not the attorneys who won't follow the rules. Thus the judge is looking out for her in accepting the report instead of meting out a well-deserved exclusion to the attorneys.

Please, Kingfish. It's a bunch of keyboard warrier bored housewives who see the life of a young person as a TV drama.
Regardless of your personal opinion of Carley, she's a child. She has a soul. While justice may be deserved, it does not need to be done so at the sake of our humanity.
The whole thing is just sad. I haven't kept up with it too simply because it's painful to watch. Has there been any talk of her motive? I haven't personally seen anything about motive.
That's the big question.
I think "pissed off" was the motive. Pissed at her mom for confiscating her vapes for marijuana from her room. She shot her mom right after that.

The psychologist suggested Carly to read "Crime and Punishment" a dark book. I wonder if the psychologist will lose her license.
I'd like to know what percent of the time this psychiatrist has found a yute competent for trial.
So you're saying justice should not be done?
Curious why the court appointed expert did not do a McNaughten analysis.
9:34 - I agree with you. The way she hid the weapon behind her back like she figured "they can't see the gun, so they can't prove I did it".
Best part of the case is a teacher's daughter and a teacher's pet manipulating a Harvard psych teacher and an AP Lit English teacher/counselor into a ludicrous murder defense and an argument over whether (fictional) murder by a former law student is really that bad. In court. Reminds me of when an AUSA brought up Chaucer in USD court, and Wingate (Virden Addition/Yale) scolded him about the relevance of a 500 years dead playwright to the matter at hand. I could not believe Kirk or Todd channeling Dostoevsky like 14 year old school girls, in the trial of a14 year old school girl. And the hardest blow to Gregg was when the Harvard guy roasted her as not that smart on the stand. Yeah, I'd say too clever by a life sentence and a half, for sure.
The ultimate tragedy is that a HS math teacher lies dead as Poli Sci majors relive junior high and grasp at straws in court.
Defense is calling a hail Brady? The judge needs to lock them up.
Wow. Just wow. A doctor telling truth. Wow. And it was his first Prosecution consult, ever. He's not anti Defense.
