D.L. Gardner: Trump is a Husband & Father Too

Why do people hate Donald J. Trump? Let’s face it: Hatred for Trump is the key issue of many of those who oppose him.

Trump was born June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York, to Frederick, a real estate developer, and Mary Trump who was a New York socialite and philanthropist. The fourth of five children, Donald Trump was described online in biography.com as “an energetic, assertive child.”

The article continues, “At age 13, Trump’s parents sent him to the New York Military Academy, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner. He did well at the academy, both socially and academically, rising to become a star athlete and student leader by the time he graduated in 1964.”

In 1968 Trump graduated with a degree in economics from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. Benefitting from this degree and taking advantage of experience he had gained from working in the family business, Trump naturally gravitated to a career in real estate development.

According to the article in biography.com, “Trump’s business ventures include The Trump Organization, Trump Tower, casinos in Atlantic City and television franchises like The Apprentice and Miss Universe. Trump has business deals with the Javits Center and the Grand Hyatt New York, as well as other real estate ventures in New York City, Florida and Los Angeles.”

Trump’s mother, Mary Anne MacLeod immigrated from Scotland in 1929 and married Fred Trump in 1936. The couple had four other children: Maryanne Trump Barry; Fred Trump, Jr.; Elizabeth Trump Grau; and Robert Trump.

Trump had two wives before marrying Melania in January 2005. He and his first wife, Ivana married in 1977 and had three children: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric. They divorced in 1992. The next year Trump married Marla Maples and had a daughter, Tiffany. They divorced in 1999. Trump married his current wife Melania in January 2005, and they had Barron in March 2006.

Trump’s sons Donald Jr. and Eric followed him into the family business and are executive vice presidents for The Trump Organization. They led the business while their father was president. Ivanka was also an executive vice president in the family business before striking out on her own to begin her fashion label. When Trump became president Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner worked in advising roles in the White House.

Donald Trump has grown up in a family rich environment. The latest “lawfare” attacks from those who hate him have especially hurt Melania and his children. Personal attacks have particularly hurt Barron, his youngest son who just graduated from high school.

In an interview with Phil McGraw, “Dr. Phil” asked what impact the jury’s guilty verdict had had on his family. According to an account in The Epoch Times, Trump answered, “It’s not easy.” Regarding Barron’s reactions Trump said, “He’s a great kid, he’s a good student, he got accepted to different colleges. Some of those colleges all of a sudden, they’re rioting all over the place. But he’s a good boy. He’s a tall boy, very tall, and he’s a great kid. Good-looking kid. And, you know, he’s going to be at college.”

Donald J. Trump has strongly withstood non-stop ad hominem attacks from haters, but his family should not have to suffer.

I do feel badly for his family, but when he pedals hate, there is really no one else to blame.

What about Judge Merchan's family? Michael Cohen's family. Alvin Bragg's family. Fani Willis' family. Nancy Pelosi's family. E. Jean Carrol's family. What about the family of every poll worker in the country? What about the family of every non-white person in the country? Whether or not they are American citizens.

Why should I care about Trump's family? He surely doesn't. He has cheated on all three of his wives.

Mr. Gardner, please quote a better news source than the Epoch Times. Money laundering charges against the chief financial officer says a lot about the integrity of that organization.

I agree that family's should be protected. Practice what you preach.

@5:54 PM That would be deflecting hate thrown at him. Oh, be sure to vote for Biden, comrade, but don't expect any social security in your future, comrade.

I do not hate Donald Trump, I do very much dislike him. It’s the narcissistic psychopath personality that he displays that makes him very unpleasant.

5:54, he's really spreading the hate in Detroit.

6:49, your post is exactly what I would expect from an iced mocha cappuccino drinking, pâté eating, J Crew wearing, Beamer driving, Friend watching, sushi eating, scented candle burning, man-bun wearing, green hair, nose ring sporting, liberal.

OK DL. Biden is a husband and father as well. When are you going to write a fawning piece about him?

Anonymous said...

6:55, so you don't like strong me that are secure in their manhood?

Trump is a born leader. He is intelligent and well educated. That is something the other presidents never had. Trump is not a lifetime politician. He knows how to make a living without depending on Uncle Sam to provide everything for him. He donated every cent he was paid for being president. Is there any other president that can say the same?

Anonymous said...

I think a lot of people judge Trump by his behavior and the way he treats people.

That is not the same thing as "ad hominem attacks from haters."

Anonymous said...

Yes, and his wife and his daughter aren't willing to show their faces as he perputrates his lie that he didn't f**k Stormy. (Or hear the tapewhere he claims he can grab a woman's p****y because he is (supposedly) rich and famous

So much for being a 'husband and a father' - thanks DL for your wonderful commentary

Anonymous said...

@8:56 PM
Being a master manipulator does not equal intelligence. Your "born leader" took daddy's money and tried to convince people that he is a self-made man. Donating his presidential salary is irrelevant. As for Gardner's drivel, why should we care about Trump's family? You reap what you sow so Trump's own actions are to blame.

Most of the people that hate him is because of their envy, but will never admit it. Very few people have the wealth and the moxie to speak up on things that rattled the world. He has taken on the largest criminal cabal in history and is still standing. The real concern will be after he's left the stage, who on earth will fill the void of leadership?

Every president did despicable things - even Eisenhower cheated on angelic Mamie - but he won the war, and came home and designed our present day highway systems that were the primary reason for America's economic boom after the war.

People like or love Trump for the things he says and does. People dislike or hate Trump for the things he says and does.

Anonymous said...

Wow, the left wing Trump haters are quick on the draw to chime in here. Do you Trump haters think Biden would be propped up enough to make it through another disastrous term??? I can't see him surviving another term and then comes the mighty do nothing cackling Kamala. God be with us!

Big Deal. Like me, many people will hold their noses and vote for this skunk. We don't hate him but we certainly would like a less obnoxious choice if there was one. It's not a matter of loyalty or admiration, it's just necessity. After all Trump has shown his only loyalty is to Trump. It's scary, but Biden's regime is more so.

KF - I think you're posters are beginning to trend to the 40 and younger crowd who are demonstrably communist....meaning they failed history.

reximus said...

@1:38 - We get it, anyone who doesn’t like Trump is clearly a communist. Is that what you’re saying?

Anonymous said...

@7:56
DL could write an article about Ashley Biden’s diary and the sexual abuse she detailed from her father. But I doubt DL is really into writing child sexual abuse stores. He could also write about Hunter and his niece from the dead brother. Bur again, quite disgusting.

Anonymous said...

3:42, Since when is DL Gardner is so constrained by good taste and not wanting to be tacky? The guy's about one letter away from full-blown Q.

Anonymous said...

Reximus - nobody equated whether you like Trump or not to being a communist.

It's that you're generation was never schooled in history, economics, or political science. Now you're an "adult" (with age 30 being the new 18) where most of you're life you were entertained and comforted, and not prepared for the rigors of life or the brutal realities of how we got here, and you struggle with what's happening - which is just a repeat of the past - but you're too afraid to actually look at what happens in the end because you won't have the grit to handle it. So you rage....at everything.

Y'all just need some therapy to address how you're parents threw you under a bus by treating you like mushrooms - keeping you in the dark and feeding you shit.

As someone who deals in facts not emotions, I do find the it fascinating how popular (hell, encouraged) it is to vehemently hate people that don't share your belief systems.

I remember when that was frowned upon.

I also fear that success is being villainized in an organized effort to truly become a more socialist minded nation.

reximus said...

@6:44 am - I’m 61, FYI.

Anonymous said...

Other than the cheating, lying, and not treating people with respect, Trump isn’t that bad. If being a decent person is an important quality to voters, then those voters have long since abandoned the boy who cried rigged. All that’s left are the true believers like DL and that’s just not enough to legitimately win.

7:52 pm the post you criticize is what I'd expect for a Christian. The gist of the post is The Golden Rule or practicing what you preach.

George Washington wrote a very small and easily read book for human behavior in groups so as to foster a peaceful society. Dolly Madison also wrote on etiquette for ladies.

Our Founders assumed we'd all aspire to be ladies and gentleman and treat each based only on each citizens behavior.

I suppose that is the crux of the matter. Political disagreements , indeed, any disagreement can be discussed and resolved without personal insults or threats of harm. Our Founders knew that was critical to a surviving democratic republic. They ALL were worried about violent and intimidating "factions" developing.

It has nothing to do with style or the size of one's wallet nor the amount of formal education. It does have to do with educating oneself.

When you are a pleasant person and learn what is necessary to get along well with others and to solve problems, neither money nor formal education is required. What is required is maturity which includes controlling one's emotions and being reliable in word and deed ...honorable.

I have very good friends who can afford anything they wish to acquire and friends who work hard to provide for their families and have struggles. All them have relatives who have chosen to be mean spirited, angry, defensive and blame other for their poor choices. Such relatives refused to be civil or law abiding and dug their own ditch. Too often they dragged their wives and children with them into the ditch you now seem to wish to occupy.

Every group has it's bad apples. Former President Trump was known as the "bad apple" in his family from childhood. That is why, despite his wealth, the only time he was able to be invited into the homes of the " nice people" was when he was married to his first wife who did have excellent social skills and good manners. It was not until he not only cheated on her, but did so in an embarrassing way.

The people of New York City, have embraced Republicans into their social ranks forever.

If you cannot counter an argument or set of beliefs without rancor, that says you are uneducated on the subject and therefore can't support of defend your position.

June 17, 2024 at 12:01 PM, so, I take it you confess to being that type of liberal? Your post at June 15, 2024 at 6:49 PM, was no where close to being Christ oriented.

In my opinion, it was condescending, libelous, whispering, murmuring, back biting, and gossiping. What you are showing at June 17, at 12;01, is your ignorance of the scriptures.

Romans 1:29-30, Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

In my opinion, there's a lot of Romans 1:29-30, in both of your post. That's just my opinion, the same as your two post were your opinion.

What a lovely SPIN you have spun, DL.
Let's only use the positive and leave out every other paragraph.
He is hateful, arrogant and an egomaniac.
He does not love this country. He loves power.
He completely disrespects women.
He thinks our veterans are weak.
He makes fun of the handicapped.
He made fun of his own father and ignored him in his final days, after all of his money he had been through.
He admires terrorists and dictators and desires to be just like them.
How can so many people be so blind to what he is?! Do they not know that he cares nothing for them, that he would never associate with any of them?
This Republican will never support him.

Anonymous said...

June 17, 2024 at 5:22 PM, let's go on the assumption you're right, you're not, but even if you're %100 right, he's still better than Biden.

Anonymous said...

Oh, 8:53, I am right, 100%.
Biden is by no means perfect, but he is a far better human being and leader than Trump will ever be.
Please keep your eyes and mind open.

Anonymous said...

Trump a devoted family man? Please...He's cheated on all of his wives, including Melania when he was home with their month-old baby. She should be used to his philandering by now, which probably explains the separate bedrooms. And Trump a business whiz? That's even more laughable. He fooled millions of American voters by playing the role of a savvy businessman in a scripted TV show. In real life, he ran six companies into bankruptcy (including a casino -- how do you do that?). He'd be much wealthier if he'd taken the nine-figure inheritance his daddy gave him and just put it all into an S&P index fund.

IIRC every casino in Atlanta City eventually went bankrupt.

June 17, 2024 at 5:22 PM, how about a link to all of those accusations?

Anonymous said...

June 18, 2024 at 2:45 PM, here you are, day drinking again. You can't know anything about Biden for you to say that. Joe Biden is a rude, crude, thieving, plagiarizing, sleazeball, that will prostitute himself for a dollar, while selling out his mother.

He is a comatose, dementia patient, that has to be jacked up on drugs to mumble through a three line speech. He has led this country in to disgrace with his retreat from Afghanistan, he has led us in to one of the greatest periods of inflation this country has ever seen.

Crime is at an all-time high because of the Democratic Party, which he is the leader of. He led this country to the drawdown of the strategic oil reserve, and has shown no inclination to refill it. He has led this country to a dangerously low level of armaments.

He is currently leading this country in to a conflict with Russia, to provoke a nuclear war. Those are a few of the places sleepy Joe has led us. Yet, you have the audacity to call this clown a better leader than Trump, who did none of these things? You ain't just day drinking, you are commode hugging drunk. Come back when you're sober.

Anonymous said...

5:27, if you're awake on any given day, there are plenty of stories over air or in print to substantiate the ""accusations" and many more!

June 19, 2024 at 2:20 PM, so, you don't have any? I had the feeling you were wishing it to be true. If wishers had horses, beggars could ride.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
