JPD Chief Joseph Wade delivered some rather shocking news after Daniel Callihan was apprehended yesterday. Chief Wade said the presence of small animal cages where Callihan was caught showed the presence of a "human trafficking" operation. The revelation was reported by national media such as CNN. However, there might be a more simple explanation for the cages.

JPD Chief Joseph Wade told the media:What it looks like, this may be a location where there has been some human trafficking done. We see cages - small animal cages. [It’s] very, very disturbing to me as a police chief, and as a father, to witness and see what I just saw
JPD said Callihan was arrested in the 3900 block of Boozier Drive. Did JPD find evidence of a trafficking operation or something else?
Check out what is at 4019 Boozier Drive:
The business has been closed for some time. More investigation is warranted but the presence of the cages and pet store may be pure coincidence.

Maybe I wasn’t listening closely enough but why were the suspects taken to Rankin County jail. I wouldn’t be opposed to some police brutality in this particular case.
I'm not going to any pet "store" on that road.... ever. Past or present.
Chief Wade has become a real media hound. No PIO?
This may be where the metro’s reptile tribe are extracting adrenachome from local children to sustain their covenant with Satan.
Just taking a page out of Gumflapper's exaggeration and falsehood playbook.
We are concerned (rightly so) about pets being euthanized in Jackson. THERE HAVE BEEN 34 HUMANS murdered in the same city.
Attn 6:20 p m. maybe the astute police officers carried them to Rankin county jail because of the reputation of Rankin county for inmate abuse.
I'm assuming the Chief is talking about actual physical evidence of human trafficking that was left behind. I won't go into detail but it's stuff you can't can't take home, you know (unless it's an STD).
Did y'all happen to see on WAPT just before 6:30 tonight the video of WAPT's reporter Ross Adams talking to this murderer, Daniel Callihan? Callihan claimed he was sober and only on Lexapro and has "borderline multiple personality disorder". I imagine that WAPT will show that video again later tonight.
Probably a whacky pit puppy mill related cages taken from building. Nobody selling children would keep them in cages in the woods where they'd be sick and filthy and bug bitten, thence "unsellable"/ untrafickable.
This crime was heinous, nonetheless, and may yet demo a drug crazed idiot who thought he could sell children.
Judging from Google Earth’s street view, I imagine you would hear banjo music if you drove down Boozier Drive.
I appreciate Chief Wade's acknowledgement of, and recent comments about all the homicides in Jackson, but he looks to have gone off at half-cock here.
The perp does look like a cast member from Deliverance.
"borderline multiple personality disorder", I don't care how many there are, put all of them away.
I'm pretty sure "borderline multiple personality disorder" isn't in the DSM.
The perp walk set up by Chief Wade paid off. He was spilling his guts to the media.
Good luck to the public defenders assigned to this low-life. After confessing to multiple reporters the best that they can hope for is no "needle."

Thanks for that tidbit. Another unspeakable crime, committed by someone on an antidepressant.
Media does its best to omit mention of substances which may have contributed to crimes, since purveyors of substances are their biggest advertisers.
An article on the WAPT website quoted a woman saying that Callihan lived in her Jackson neighborhood. All other news reports have said he is a Louisiana man.

@3:16 PM The reporting was confusing. His neighbor is in La.
There is a source saying Callihan's father murdered a girl in 1990. If, he lived in Louisiana, what was he doing hiding in Jackson?

Thank you, 6:57.
Does anyone else find it odd that the mother of the girls was named Callie and his name is Callihan? Terrible crime and the children must have had a horrible trip full of terror from Louisiana before they wound up behind the former pet store. What in the world could a pet store have kept out in the woods? I don't see how he could have found this site if he didn't know about it prior to the recent crimes. The motel where his "girlfriend" was arrested must be fairly close. Evil from beginning to end. And, his comments certainly help prevent an untainted jury. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else and reminds me of Charles Manson. No comment on Chief Wade; he is trying to his job in an understaffed department in a poorly run city.
For those who keep asking why he was in Jackson. Can you name a better city to go to if you have committed a crime and are looking for a place to hide out?
