He sees the writing on the wall - he's got a better chance than ever now.

Contrary to what the Rankin/Madison county keyboard warriors think, the word on the street is Baby Choke has lost all confidence in his base. The emperor is finally seen having no clothes.

Anonymous said...

Chowke will describe Mr. Wade as an Uncle Tom to maintain his (Chowke's) ignorant base.

I'll donate to Mr. Wade's campaign.

Anonymous said...

My left shoe is a Democrat and thinks it will be a better mayor Chokwe. I agree.

James Carville said...

This is very good news. And, Lumumba's the perfect incumbent to follow if you're a newbie. Nowhere to go but up!

Anonymous said...

The young emperor will say that this guy doesn't care about black people....

He will take things that he said on his radio show out of context and use it against him.

AND CHOKE will still lose!

Anonymous said...

Kim wade will win only NE Jackson and that’s not enough. The rich white elites in fondren are offended by his ideas and can’t imagine voting for him. Same goes in Belhaven the st Andrew’s limousine liberals are offended.

Anonymous said...

$1000 the moment Kim's campaign is ready to accept the donation.

Anonymous said...

Kim needs to be real careful about admitting he's a Trump guy. That can be a big turn off for some moderates on both sides.

Anonymous said...

Best of luck Mr. Wade. I plan on voting for you, as of now. I told Wheel Chock I was getting to old to get up early enough to vote early and often.

Anonymous said...

10:29,

I live in Belhaven. I think a little more than half of the neighborhood votes Republican. It’s mostly just the liberals that put signs in their yards.

I don’t know anybody in Jackson that likes the Mayor. Of course I don’t know everybody.

Anonymous said...

Where do we contribute to his campaign ?

Anonymous said...

If Jackson reelects Choke the next and only additional money the state should spend on it is building a giant fence around it and letting nature take it's course because it is a totally lost cause.

Anonymous said...

I hope he doesn't suffer the same fate as Jonathan Lee when he ran against Chokwe Sr. He all but had the election in hand until the smear campaign started on the local black radio stations calling him an Uncle Tom and closet Republican and everything else. Luckily, Kim is running against the worst mayor in Jackson history so maybe he can get enough votes (something like 13k) to win.

Anonymous said...

@12:37

LOL the difference in Kim and Jonathan is that Kim has been very open about where he stands a very long time. The voters will have a clear choice. Law and order, transparency and a chance to save their town from the death spiral it's in or more crime, mountains of garbage and endless boil water notices.

Anonymous said...

Kim Wade is very quick on his feet, he will not be sucker punched by Lil Choke's lies and obfuscation. The current fake mayor has lost credibility with much of his base, including Stokes' ward and Banks' ward, and all those suffering from pain of crime, stench of sewer, loss of water, inconvenience of signal and street repairs....

Wade will be a total gas of humor and cutting invective.

Anonymous said...

1. You might be insane to think NE Jackson will vote for Kim Wade

2. Kim will bring in about 600-1000 votes, max.

3. Does Kim have a job, and has he ever had a job?

Steve said...

Uncle Bennie will unleash his hellhounds and Kiiiiim will be toast.

Anonymous said...

How can we help? Does he have a website up for campaign donations and to register to volunteer?
Nobody should listen to the Jackson Jambalya neighsayer, keyboard warriors. Most of y'all have been b*tching and moaning on here since I was in my 20s. You've never helped to solve an issue in your life. Get out of the way.
If this man is committed, I'll be committed to spreading the news and helping any way I can. The last mayoral election boasted less than 20K voters. There are still enough people in this city with enough sense to see that things aren't working. That number is nothing. There's no enthusiasm for Chokwe, so what are we waiting for? People know he's a loser. Show him the door and let's try something new.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately, the Madison County "citizens" posting on this blog are not eligible to vote in Jackson.

Kim’s got my vote!

This may sound insane, but Kim Wade is Jackson's Donald Trump in the making. I'm here for it, too! GO KIM

Anonymous said...

I just hope he can get an airplane to drop leaflets behind the lines in west and southwest Jackson.

Anonymous said...

Anyone, white or black, who votes for Chokwe has to be doing it for strictly racial reasons. He has not even maintained ANYTHING Jackson had when he was elected much less improved it. He as been disaster and a total failure as mayor.

Anonymous said...

I was hoping for Al Sharpton but got the Wish.com Colin Powell instead

Anonymous said...

Contrary to popular belief, there are a good many conservative voters in Belhaven. Fondren, not so much. I think it would only take something like 15k votes to win. I wonder how many conservatives live in NE Jackson and Belhaven combined? Considering Chokwe had no viable opposition last time, Wade might actually have a chance.

Plain ol' Catfish said...

Dear Gawd - I hope not! Trump is freakin' clueless about anything legislative!

Kim had good talking points in this video and really good ideas.

The thing I loved the most, is that he built a working relationship with the mayors in the surrounding suburbs and that is something sorely lacking

the war of attrition between the city and burbs, is doing no favors for either side.

If its just between Antar and Kim, I would vote for Kim

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was a dancer and stand up comedian before winning the Presidency of Ukraine. And short and Jewish. Yet he married a ravishingly beautiful woman and has earned the respect of most of the civilized West.

Kim Wade has the courage of his conservative convictions, martial arts training, salesmanship, an infectious sense of humor and an enviable ability to communicate meaningfully to an audience.

Kudos to our next Mayor, the indomitable Kim Wade.

I'm definitely a never-Chockwe voter.
But 10:37 AM is right. His affiliation with Trump is a HUUUGGGE turnoff.
Who else has been mentioned besides Kim and Marcus Wallace?

The marxist mayor has proven there are two things he can run in his time in the driver's seat. He can run his mouth, and he can run the city into the ground.

It's time for a new operator. Let the marxist mayor be retired to the marxist main stream media where he can preen like a peacock for all the brain-dead liberals. Kim Wade for the future.

Anonymous said...

First, but not going to be the best, to jump into the frey.

Chockwe is set to lose, but it won't be to Kiiiiiim; going to take somebody that is more capable of actually running the city. Chockwe has proven that just a loud mouth isn't what it takes - and while Kim's is louder, it isn't any better at managing. Look at his track record, it matches that of his idol, DJT, who can bankrupt anything while running his scams.

I'm ready to see Lumumba gone, and am ready to jump in on the candidate that can send him packing - which I don't think is going to be a hard lift. But - its gotta be somebody other than a radio personality that appeals to a small audience.

Anonymous said...

The 20,000 votes from 2021 has nothing to do with the upcoming election - in that race, there were no legitimate candidates and nothing to excite the voters. Baby Chock didn't have to do anything in the way of campaigning after winning the Democratic Primary, so he didn't do anything.

Next year there will be at least one quality candidate running againt him that will bring out many more voters - both for and against Chockwe. Those armchair political consultants on here thinking that 2021 is the base are also those that think Wade can actually win, but other than a small name ID from his radio talk show that has a very defined audience base nobody thinks any more of him than they did the idiot Charlotte Reeves (who had run for everything from Congress, to Mayor, to Governor, and for the Countyline prior to her entry into the last campaign).

Yes, lets line up with support, and money to defeat the worthless grifter in office today - but lets do it for an actual viable candidate.

I believe it may be too late to save Jackson... I have not seen a huge outpouring of people that are unhappy with the idiocracy we have experienced in the last few administrations.

People seem to not mind living in a lawless city. There is nothing much to do here. It is dangerous to go drive around after dark.

Our main entertainment is watching the local news which is a good thing for people who enjoy True Crime stories.

I wish Bert Case was alive to see this shitshow...

Only Kim has the plan to save Jackson. Period. No one else will address the ACTUAL problem with Jackson, but Kim talks about it every. day. He's the only candidate who "can say" the things he does, but more importantly, he DOES say what needs to be said. There are no other candidates out there who are going to do anything other than say the things ALL candidates say to get elected (we need to improve schools, we need to clean up our city, we need to move forward, etc.), yet have ZERO intent to do any of it. Kim will. Just listen to his positions on things, and you'll realize he's unlike any other candidate who will run for mayor.

Because of Baby Chok, I no longer live in Jackson, but you can damn well be sure I'll be donating to Kim's candidacy! I hate that my hometown has become the absolute shithole it's become, but it has. I believe only Kim's policies have a chance of saving it (if it's not too far gone already.)

I can't understand it. Help me out here. Why in the world does Fondren (as many of you point out) prefer the status quo and doesn't (according to you) want change?

Meanwhile, this post is an odd one: "...the word on the street is Baby Choke has lost all confidence in his base."

It's not Choke's confidence in his base that matters. It's his base having no confidence in HIM that's the key to his defeat.

It's not that Mr. Wade will change things. Nobody is going to turn Jackson around.

It's just that Mr. Wade will provide welcome relief with a new cast of actors and a different playwright.

This is the apathetic mindset that kills this place......

I have not seen a huge outpouring of people that are unhappy with the idiocracy we have experienced in the last few administrations

Of course, you don't see it - because they all think like you. They wait on others to come fix their own backyard, then complain when someone makes an effort to do something!?

If it's too late to save Jackson, then it's too late to save Mississippi.

So goes the Capital, and so goes the rest of the State.

It's never too late to fix up real estate!?

The problem here is apathy and complacency across the board.

I am going to be honest, they are focused and organized and really could care less who the mayor is. They have pooled their resources together for planning and logistics, with an urban planner. They know what they want and how they want it and they are not waiting on the city, county, or state to come save them.

Kudos to them.

It’s funny y’all think people vote.

Hello, Nose, meet Face. When Labumbler's campaign handlers cite all you White boys talking here about how you're behind Kim Wade and donating to his campaign, the black electorate will scurry to the polls and vote to return Labumbler to his throne.

"So goes the Capital, and so goes the rest of the State."

I have never understood this sentiment, and seriously doubt the validity.

It feels like a pathetic scare tactic/attempt to guilt trip the Mississippi citizens that are intelligent enough to not live in a crime riddled hell hole into saving Jackson from its self-imposed mess.

The rest of the state would seriously appreciate it if the City of Jackson would fix its own mess. Its not like you have to reinvent the wheel. Just copy the same things we are doing.
You're welcome.

I'll be glad to watch and listen to see if Mr. Wade can come up with actual plans to make Jackson more efficient including how to bring the city government offices into this century and how to get the money to do so.

It's rather obvious when one goes to the courthouse and sees equipment that hasn't been updated in decades.

It's not a scare tactic when you are depending on your neighbors to maintain your property values

Whether Madison or Rankin likes it, Hinds is a part of its region. The greater metro area - Hinds, Madison, and Rankin.

What kills this region's long term growth are the following:

(1) there's no master development agreement between the contiguous towns - stabilizing the entire market

(2) no zoning codes in place - we just stick stuff wherever - across the entire metro

(3) there are no build-out schemes coordinated between the various wards of Jackson, which carry over to the border cities

(4) Revenue mitigation in regards to tax revenues is non-existent - Madison and Rankin have a bulk of the shopping outlets for the metro area, where they reap all the rewards from Hinds County residents, where they (Madison/Rankin residents) do not reciprocate that investment into Jackson/Hinds County

Jackson is a regional issue. Period.

Anonymous said...

For anyone who wants to know where Mr. Wade stands on any issue, just turn on your FM radio to 103.9 weekdays from 4-6 pm.

And yes, Mr. Wade has been a realtor for years as well as a radio commentator.

As for May 13, 2024 at 1:21 PM

"1. You might be insane to think NE Jackson will vote for Kim Wade

2. Kim will bring in about 600-1000 votes, max.

3. Does Kim have a job, and has he ever had a job?"

Step away from the keyboard Baby Chock.

Anonymous said...

Jackson is a regional issue. Period.

So how do your propose we regionally save you?

Are you suggesting that Choke would allow a board of directors comprised of REGIONAL leaders and WE can make decisions for the city of Jackson? Is Choke gonna let us delegate contracts and appoint judges and really save yall?

He seems pretty averse to any input from intelligent suburban leaders as well as state leaders, so I am all ears.

And can we expect a return on our investment? If we regionally save Jackson, what does the City of Jackson plan to do for us?

Anonymous said...

@ May 14, 2024 at 5:31 PM

If Kingfish allows it - I will address each point you made

So how do you propose we regionally save you?

It's less about saving Jackson, but actually getting the contiguous counties on the same page so we can properly develop the region. We should be giving companies incentives to remain in certain areas, and try pulling new and distinct businesses to others.

Are you suggesting that Choke would allow a board of directors comprised of REGIONAL leaders and WE can make decisions for the city of Jackson? Is Choke gonna let us delegate contracts and appoint judges and really save yall?

The tone of that statement is why the relationship is adversarial because you gotta give him an opportunity to sit at the table with those regional leaders. AND if he puts up the road blocks or is not doing his part, then you have the means to say we want to help, but we need stakeholders to show good faith. Right, no one can say they've made an effort on either side to do so. If so - where are the receipts?

He seems pretty averse to any input from intelligent suburban leaders as well as state leaders, so I am all ears.

Then that's where you go to the media - you have Jackson Jambalaya, Save JXN, WLBT, WAPT, The Northside Sun, Magnolia Tribune to hold him to account for coming to the table - to hammer out the development issues. When the citizens of Jackson see that, then that gives them the motivation to really get him out of here.

And can we expect a return on our investment? If we regionally save Jackson, what does the City of Jackson plan to do for us?

The return on investment is tourism, stabilizing the retail market, AND resident retention.

There's no reason why we do not have a central entertainment district downtown for the Jackson Metro Area - where we can host concerts, festivals, conventions, D1 sporting events - in turn the suburbs hotels and restaurants benefit from that as well.

Anonymous said...

“(4) Revenue mitigation in regards to tax revenues is non-existent - Madison and Rankin have a bulk of the shopping outlets for the metro area, where they reap all the rewards from Hinds County residents, where they (Madison/Rankin residents) do not reciprocate that investment into Jackson/Hinds County“

Reciprocate? To be clear, you’re suggesting that Rankin and Madison Counties are under some sort of obligation to channel tax funds into Hinds county, because Hinds county residents go to the burbs to do shopping?

Seriously? If Hinds County and Jackson don’t want their residents going to the burbs to do business, then by all means start a boycott to that effect. Or fix the problems that drove businesses to the burbs in the first place. No one is under any obligation to “reciprocate” anything. This is like saying if Lowe’s pulls business away from Home Depot, it’s obligated to give Home Depot something in return.

Anonymous said...

@ May 15, 2024 at 9:57 AM

The issue with our region (Central Mississippi) - is that we have three separate counties that make up the Metropolitan area

Based on our history of race relations and imbalance in economic opportunity, and the migration of ethnic groups to certain parts of the metropolitan area - making us appear as post-apartheid South Africa, and I want us to change that dynamic

To boycott the suburbs is counterproductive to our region. It's not sensible or practical. It would be comparable to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the south's public transit system has never recovered from that and the way we develop down here today, is due to that mess.

The comment about Lowe's and Home Depot, is not comparable or feasible to the war of attrition between Hinds, Madison, and Rankin.

Lowe's is based out of North Carolina and Home Depot is based out of Georgia. Two separate entities that compete for customers interested in home goods. That's healthy capitalism.

Hinds, Madison, and Rankin - shouldn't be in a competition for residents and business, at the detriment of a neighboring community, but in a partnership where we are retaining and attracting people to build up the region, onto the state.

This leads to this last point, the only obligation Madison and Rankin have to Hinds County is finding ways to get all stakeholders to the table, to create a regional development authority to balance out the economic inequity.

@12:12 pm

The residents of Madison and Rankin counties don’t owe anything to Hinds county, and the governments of Madison and Rankin counties are only obligated to their own residents.

We left Hinds county to get away from the shitty infrastructure, the constant petty crime that occasionally veers into major crime, the stagnant/declining property values, and the ridiculously high property taxes with nothing in return.

It’s just the height of entitlement for you to suggest that we now owe anything to Hinds County.

I agree that to a certain degree the fate of Jackson affects the suburbs. Anyone who sees the County Line trash creeping north knows that’s true.

But I can just avoid that. And have done so. By the time it gets to my community, I’ll be dead and gone. Why should I - and the tens of thousands of others who have chosen to do the same - expend our money, effort, and time to try to help people who don’t want to be helped? Or people who come with the kind of entitlement attitude you’ve displayed here? What’s in it for my family?

Anonymous said...

"Lowe's is based out of North Carolina and Home Depot is based out of Georgia. Two separate entities that compete for customers interested in home goods. That's healthy capitalism. "

That depends on how you define "healthy". The founder of Home Depot got divorced by his wife (now ex-wife) and she founded Lowe's as some sort of revenge. Look around anywhere in this country and you will fine a Lowe's within about a mile of every Home Depot. It's a pretty bizarre story.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
