Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones announced at a press conference this afternoon that a Raymond Detention Center escapee was found dead in New Orleans.
The Sheriff said the escapee was in the New Orleans area last wee but law enforcement officials were unable to find him. The New Orleans Police Department "conducted a death investigation" Sunday morning at 8:30 AM at a truck stop on Gentilly Road (KF: Boulevard?). A body was in the doorway of a white pick-up truck at the truck stop.
The coroner identified the deceased as escapee Casey Grayson. He was 34 years old. The cause of death is unknown although foul play is not suspected. However, Sheriff Jones said drug paraphernalia and narcotics were close to the body of the deceased.
The Sheriff said it is believe a family member provided the truck to Grayson. He was charged with grand larceny, possession and sale of a controlled substance, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Corey Harrison remains at large. Dylan Arrington died in a shootout with law enforcement officers last week after allegedly killing a preacher. Jerry Raynes was arrested in Texas last week after stealing a Hinds County public works truck and fleeing to the Lone Star State. Sheriff Jones said he is being transported back to Raymond.

Best news i have heard today. Good riddance!!!!!
darwinism
The Higher Power is providing considerably faster justice (x2) than the Hinds County legal system, and the Higher Power’s death penalty record with the recent escape schmucks reminds one of a 1970’s Ed Peters.
I'll have a coke.
Next
Jerry needs to stay in Texas. Where they can actually keep jailbirds in the jail.
'Foul play is not suspected'...
8:44PM, Ed Peters??? The former Hinds County DA Ed Peters that (according to a gwcommonwealth.com article) was paid $1 million by the plaintiffs lawyer (Richard “Dickie”) Scruggs team” and had a “central role in this conspiracy,” that “communicated the bribe — namely, that if DeLaughter was helpful to (Richard “Dickie”) Scruggs, the judge (DeLaughter) could expect Scruggs’ help in trying to persuade the attorney’s brother-in-law, then-U.S. Sen. Trent Lott, to recommend DeLaughter for an open seat on the federal bench?”
That Ed Peters?
Casey Grayson did not hang himself. Did he have the goods on HRC?
7:26 a, yep that Ed Peters. Before those adventures, he was skilled DA who could get a death penalty verdict in Hinds County. I wasn’t commenting on his integrity, lol.
What a shame. Sad that no one told him that New Orleans was a dangerous town, filled with many opportunities to stumble into trouble.
These boys have actually saved us taxpayers quite a chunk of cash. Wonder if the 4th one will just turn himself in as it appears Deputy Karma is working the case.
