Water problems continue in Jackson. WAPT reported:
Water pressure is recovering after a setback in water production at the O.B. Curtis plant, according to Jackson's third-party water administrator, Ted Henifin.
According to Henifin, on New Year's Eve, a malfunction happened at the plant that caused the PSI to plummet from 80 PSI to 45 PSI Sunday morning.
This caused residents' water pressure to plummet in some areas to nothing coming out of the faucet.
"We have had temperature change flipped the chemistry of the water and we may not have reacted well to that we are still trying to figure out exactly what happened, " Henifin said. WAPT story.
Ward 6 City Councilman Aaron Banks will host a town hall on the water crisis tonight:

Mystery "smoking gun" leaks? Warming trend surprising operators even though it has been in the forecast for two weeks? So far, this guy has come up with a lot of new excuses and that's about it.
As a former Jackson resident, my heart goes out to the many Jackson families and businesses living through the ongoing water disaster. And it is a disaster! I assume that most schools will be closed along with restaurants and many businesses. Si hard on so many!
Baby Chowke stated that the boiled water notice would be canceled by Saturday. He didn't say which Saturday. Right?
How is that $400,000/year contract working out?
Another town hall?
Do any of our "investigative journalists" come to these town halls to actually ask questions instead of just reprinting press releases?
Just as Saban wants Kirby to fail, Chokwe will love nothing more than for this imported guy to fall flat on his face.
10:27 - Jess you wait til Russ gits warmed up. We gone sea sum fare and balunse.
It appears many of you have unrealistic expectations of Mr. Henifin or assume you know more than someone whose spent their lives solving water problems successfully.
And, all of you are so politically partisan or racist that you can even begin to look at the lack of response to the flood of '79 addressing both contamination and water management failures that got us here or the corruption of white administrations.
Indeed, you have elected the politician who was the worst of the worst over and over again whose entire career was created out of straw by being a puppet for a group of wealthy men you never even knew were behind him.
The corruption that exists in the Black community was taught by whites. And, those whites and blacks struggling are both adversely affected.
You can't see you have more in common with a hard working black man than you do with white politicians who con you by telling you what you want to hear and pick your pockets.
You won't get ahead or even advance beyond getting a pat on the head by remaining deliberately ignorant.
Good.
Jackson voted for that racist Idiot Mayor.
They get what they deserve.
It is amazing the state was able to get it up and running in hours. Lying Lumumba kicks them out of the unified command and the system crashes only days afterwards. Now they can not regulate it at all. The incompetency is real in Jackson.
How about an actual explanation. All you here of are malfunctions and challenges. Or maybe they just don’t know
10:26, he didn't say what year either. In the meantime, Superfixer needs to update how the meter readings, billings, and collections are going.
If y'all came to the Town Halls you would get the answers you constantly ask... I'm sorry you are scared to go to South Jackson.

What is to be gained by taunting citizens of other parts of the city, to traverse the potholed, crime-ridden streets of South Jackson to attend a town hall in person? How about live-streaming the event? Why localize it at all, when the water situation is a city-wide problem?
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Banks managed to snag a water truck during the ice storm for his ward. He told. tv station last week he couldn't do it right now because he didn't have the same financial resources. Um, he wants to run for Mayor and he can't get a few supporters to pay for something like that?
Temperature Change??? Bull hockey!!!
The outside federal water system experts are just as dumb as the locals.
I don't know Henifin or anything about him, but blaming him and saying he's not worth the money seems a little premature. To put it in terms you people may understand, if Vanderbilt hired Saban tomorrow, it would probably still be a few seasons before the Dores win The Natty.
Reading between the lines on "and we may not have reacted well to that we are still trying to figure out exactly what happened", no manager is going to come right out and say to the public "Yeah, turns out flipping Ernie is an idiot and didn't follow the chart on the wall for how to mix the chemicals so it's all his fault".
KF, one can't equate emergency fund-raising during sudden arctic weather at Christmas, in which the fund raiser himself has no water, with planned political fund raising over time.
I thought it cruel for Banks to be deprived of water system data, directly from Henifin, to share with his constituents.
10:26 PLEASE stop ending your posts with “Right”
@9:48 AM I strongly agree. Right?
For the slow folk at 9:48 and 11:00 a.m. - the poster was actually poking fun at Chokwe since he ends every other sentence that way, right?
