Voodoo Strikes Again

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.

On Wednesday January 18, 2023, Rankin County Criminal Interdiction Deputy Johnson conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep SUV on Interstate 20 for a traffic violation. During the stop Deputy Johnson developed probable cause that the suspect may be involved in drug trafficking. Deputy Shack and his K9 partner “Voodoo” responded to the location. A K-9 search of the vehicle received a positive alert by “Voodoo”.

A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 74 pounds of methamphetamine in the cargo area of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Pedro SOSA, was placed under arrest for aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and transported to the Rankin County Jail.

District Attorney John “Bubba” Bramlett will bring the suspect before Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow for an initial appearance. No Bond has been set at this time.

          This investigation continues.

Good boy, Voodoo.

Voodoo knows where the cash is. Voodoo ain't tellin'. The cash pays for Voodoo's treats and maybe some lady Belgian Malinois sexy time.

These officers put their lives on the line now lets see what the DA and the judges do.

How did Voodoo know that a car with Texas plates, traveling at speed on the interstate, was carrying several kilos of meth?
There must be a lot more to this story!

We Love Vodoo!

I would pay $ 5000.00 for that pup! Gladly!

They could use a voodoo in Jackson!

Naw, I forgot that approval is needed from the Pastors and Community Activists. Good job to all the hardworking LEO out there doing their jobs.

The citizens that care, are behind you 100%

Good boy, Voodoo!

Unfortunately, 74 lbs of meth is a drop in the bucket.

We are losing the war on drugs. Now MS taxpayers get to pay for his room and board.

@11:00 AM - It's Rankin County, genius. Try to keep up.

And they missed the 30000 kilos right behind him

Wonder what caused Deputy Johnson to develop a probable cause?

With the right people in place the drug smugglers would bypass Mississippi! Thanks to all Law Enforcement Officers that continue to diligently and lawfully do their jobs.

You are our Heroes

@11:06 AM and 1:25 PM

It clearly says he was pulled over for a traffic violation.

His skin is clearly brown.

In Rankin County, we don’t ask too many questions!

Thank you Sheriff Bailey and the hard working men and women of the RCSO!

Why do they always get drugs,,,Go for the money!

@1:46 I-20 is one of the main corridors for drug trafficking.

1:43pm, This is what it says. During the stop Deputy Johnson developed probable cause that the suspect may be involved in drug trafficking.
I will ask again, what would cause Deputy Johnson to develop probable cause what the suspect may be involved in drug trafficking?

Either the idiot was driving 85 mph, or he was driving in the right lane going 65 mph and had two hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 and was wearing a seatbelt.

All you silly jerkoffs! No matter the amount of the seizure, the message is sent. Head up 55 where the Madison PoPo and S.O. be waitin'. Would you rather these public servants sit in Waffle House during the shift, or is it ok for them to bust lawbreakers and endanger themselves?

Silly jerkoffs! Pardon the repetitive phrase.

Now when they action the jeep at the impound shop the new owner will get pulled over by voodoo for residual drugs.

Use Your Turn Signals Ass Holes! said...

What drew the deputy's attention was that the suspect consistently used his turn signals as required by law. This was highly unusual as it has long been believed that Mississippi has been out of "blinker fluid" for decades.

I'd love to see a drug dog work through the CoJ departments.

LEO get tips about these cars carrying contraband and the drug lords sacrifice these guys.

Meanwhile the money is headed west and left alone and the real supply is nowhere near these lambs.

It’s all a game….and gets very dangerous when the plan gets disrupted

They have Voodoo and jackson has doodoo….

The Mule is a good movie.

When a vehicle with Texas plates is known (figure it out) to have traveled all the way from the Texas border, straight through Louisiana and 64 miles into Mississippi on I-20 and continuing east, there's your probable cause, geniuses.

If the LEO, in order to hold the ACLU and Amnesty International at bay, has to say he was weaving, so be it.

However, sadly, the ones who do make it to Atlanta, will unload there and the drugs will come right back to our state.

If we know we can't catch and prosecute ALL thieves, do you clowns suggest LEO stop catching those they CAN catch?

License plate readers. Vehicles are flagged and tracked from the border by license plate, make, model etc. All these criminal interdiction teams do is sit by the interstate scanning plates until a “hit” pops up on the computer. Pursue, observe any minor traffic or equipment violation, pull over, get consent or establish pc, bring in dog if necessary, search, find drugs, arrest, seize property. Another mule or decoy mule out of business. Simple as; many such cases. Meanwhile, local distribution and sales continue largely unabated but a small percentage of drugs bound for Memphis or Atlanta are intercepted. Hard to argue with results but it would be nice if more effort was put into ridding our local communities of drug trafficking, but the federal grant money funding these expensive Tahoes and license plate readers demands focus on interstate interdiction. It’s a constant game of hide and seek between law enforcement and the cartels.

I wish those cops setting along the interstate would drive through some other neighborhoods on their way to the interstate. Then maybe they could stop a few of the native drug dealers. No use coming to my neighborhood as the meth dealers always have a heads up long before the cops get into their cars.

These cars are followed from Texas all the way here. Traffic cameras, tag readers, etc. I can promise you that this vehicle was watched for a long time before it was pulled over. The Criminal Interdiction Teams across the southern states have a very intricate system that watches these guys and all their moves. They aren't stupid. They can tell by their driving techniques and so forth. They didnt just "happen upon" this vehicle and pull it over, it has been watched since Texas, I bet.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
