Former Pine Lake Youth Minister Tyler Swaggard will spend the next seven years behind bars after he pleaded guilty exploitation of a child in Rankin County Circuit Court on January 17.
Flowood police arrested Swaggard in December 2020 and charged him with two counts of felony exploitation of a child after youth members of Pine Lake filed complaints. The indictment states:
between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021.... did willfully, unlawfully, feloniously, and knowingly send, transport, transmit, or receive photographs using his computer of actual children engaging in sexually explicit conduct to wit: on an iPhone belonging to the defendant in violation of.... and, based upon a series of acts connected together and constituting parts of a scheme or plan,..... between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021..... willfully, unlawfully, feloniously, and knowingly send, transport, transmit, or receive photographs using his computer of actual children engaging in sexually explicit conduct to wit: on a Dropbox account belonging to the Defendant, in violation.....
Circuit Judge Steve Ratcliff sentenced Swaggard to serve 15 years in prison but suspended 8 years of the sentence. He will serve five years of supervised probation upon release from prison. The Court barred Swaggard from any unsupervised visitation with children but for his own unless approved by a Youth Court Judge or Chancellor.
Kingfish note: This is what Swaggard was posting on Twitter.

Sick bastard
I've said this before I think but that is the most legitimately "I got hacked" looking Twitter timeline I've ever seen.
Not defending the guy but I agree with 9:37. I assume the hacked appearance was debunked prior to conviction.
Because I would immediately assume bot/hacked links for this profile, and expect it to promptly try to sell me some discount Ray Bans.
Very early exposure to hardcore pornography is corrupting our youth. Make sure you know what your kids are doing and educate them early on the dangers.
You don't plead 'guilty' if you are hacked...
Not like he's the first, or last, minister to do this...
His twitter was most likely controlled by a bot. But... chances are there was malicious code in the stuff he was downloading that allowed the bot to get there.
I'm glad he is going to prison. Too often when this happens, the church just fires the person and sweeps it under the rug under the guise of some sort of misplaced compassion. And the person goes on to do it again at the next church and the next one and the next one. I fail to see how that is compassion. But, whatever. Perhaps Pinelake didn't have the opportunity to do any sweeping here. Regardless, I am glad this guy is going to prison.
a sicko
Oh, but this kind of shit happens everywhere and is of no importance...say band leaders, boy scout masters, principals, youth leaders, camp directors, girls' basketball coaches, teachers, swim instructors and counselors of various stripes.
My kids are grown, but for the rest of you who have young children....you better get out of denial and get your head out of your ass.
"Oh, but he's such a sweet guy and the kids love him..."
If he took a plea deal, then it's likely worse than it already looks.
@11:18
Your comment is a big part of why I’m as involved in my boys life as I am. I coach, am involved with Boy Scouts and everything else my young boys could be involved with. If I catch someone doing that to my boys or any of the boys I’m responsible for I’ll murder them.
They Caught Him going to a alleged sale at Walmart....He thought 'Little boys underwear were half off"...
11:37 - 11:18 here. Thank you. I'm a fan of vigilante justice myself. May I call you brother? Vigilante justice is really the only answer to keeping this crap at bay. It won't change the lives and grooming habits of the perps, but it will damned sure serve as a shot across their deviant bow.
"Hacked", my ass. You people are as deviant as he is.
@ 10:23 - or maybe Pinelake did the right thing and turned him in to the police as soon as they discovered his behavior
"Hacked", my ass. You people are as deviant as he is."
I don't see a single comment that said, "this guy is innocent because he was hacked."
I'm sorry that factual adult discussion is hard for you to understand.
January 27, 2023 at 2:17 PM, somebody hacked your what?
His 'brothers in behavior' obviously rally around the 'hacked' mantra. THOSE are the fuckers we need to be on alert to identify. There is no shortage of perverts.
Child molesters do not enjoy prison.
@3:57 - Pay attention, Brucie, the discussion is rife with apologists claiming his account must have been hacked or compromised.
Again 6:18, could you point out one "apologist" who says his account was hacked and therefore he is innocent?
His account can be hacked by Twitter bots. (As one mentioned, likely due to him clicking on ALL sorts of HORRIBLE links of disgusting things that no sane person would be viewing.)
AND...He can be guilty of pedophilia.
Why is it that people hear the word pedo and immediately all intelligence leaves the discussion? If he is guilty I would vote to castrate him immediately. See?
Why do you fear facts?
