The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
On September 28, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba announced at a news conference the discovery of 16 lead service lines. Upon further investigation, the16 identified lines have been field-checked and are not lead.
We do not have any known lead service lines at this time. If any are discovered, we will take immediate action to notify the property owner or resident.

Yeah, right...
So, exactly why did the Mayor make the initial announcement? Why was it so incorrect?
Does too
Woops, narrative has changed since Jackistan is being threatened with a Clean Water Act suit.
The lead has magically vaporized, right?
Chowke vetoed the lead report.
He wanted to be on record and video saying he cared about such problems. They lie for immediate gain and don’t really care about what’s next.
This is right out of the radical left-wing progressive playbook, i.e. create a fake crisis and then solve it for the stupid gullible sheeple.
Choke couldn't find a vein to suck blood outta the lead threat ... so no lead now. I ordered my own lead test kit but will not drink Choke water regardless.
Lead in the pipes.
Lead flying around the city after dark.
Lead in Chokwe's britches.
The media being lead around by the nose by Chokwe.
To what will all this lead?
The lead has been veto'ed.
HA! My parents used to letters from Jackson all the time saying there was to much lead in the water. That was 20 years ago!
Is someone getting the issue of whether (1) lines are made out of lead, versus (2) whether the water in the lines contains lead? That's the way the article reads to me, unless I'm misreading something - that Antar originally said there were 16 lines made of lead. Obviously there's a difference between whether lines are literally made out of lead, as opposed to whether the water in the lines is contaminated by lead. Again, maybe I'm missing something, but I'm just going by the literal words in the article.
There are no lead water service lines. If some jackleg somehow used lead for water service it would have been on the owner's side of the meter.
There is lead in the "solder" for some old copper joints. If the "chemicals" in the water are just so, it can cause the lead from the copper to leach and give a Positive hit to lead detection.
NONE of the lead amounts would be in excess of acceptable levels. This lead thing is just one prong of the ploy of Antar and Rukia's idea to be given money from the Federal .gov so they can grease some friendly palms
in this day of "facts don't matter" and decisions are acceptably made based solely on emotion, is anyone surprised?
