Pearl Police: No Kidnapping Attempt

The Pearl Police Department issued the following statement to quell rumors about a possible child abduction:

Pearl Police would like to clear up any rumors about an incident that occurred at Walmart on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 21.
Officers were called for a report of an alleged attempted abduction of a child inside the store. Officers arrived in full force and spoke with the mother and child and reviewed surveillance footage of the alleged incident. After investigation it was determined there was no crime and appeared to be a misunderstanding between a man shopping in the store when he passed the mother and child.
We thank Walmart for their assistance in the investigation.

His rights were still violated for absolutely no reason except that a hypersensitive idiot became an unhinged screech owl!
How the fuck do you have a “misunderstanding” about someone walking past you and your child in a store? Other reports said he “tried to touch” the child. Well which was it? Was he trying to touch the child or kidnap the child? Hundreds of people saw him get detained with that banshee screeching that he was a predator! No effort was made to shield his identity from the other customers. I hope he sues her and Walmart and the Pearl PD!

How specifically were his rights violated? There, in this article, are no mentions of what the PPD did. Was he tackled, thrown to the ground handcuffed etc? Police have to investigate any complaints specifically involving children. I'm sure, if you're a daddy, you'd want the police looking into anything possibly illegal done against your child.

3:03 - Who exactly violated his rights? Be specific. I asked WHO.

OH NO! Nw in addition to checking my own groceries, helping unload trucks and bringing back empty carts as I move from my car to the front door, we will now be expectd to patrol the isles apprehending fantom kidnappers. What next? Coating the roof one or two times a year?

3:03 - calm down. Why would he sue Wal-mart and Pearl PD? Jeez.

I wasn't there and don't know the story. But I do know that sometimes (MANY times) parents don't control or discipline their kids and the kids are bouncing around all over the aisles in stores so that you can't get by without them crashing into you, unless you gently physically "steer" them to one side. Perhaps something like that occurred here.

Can I have whatever it is you're on?

The ultimate Karen. Did she have bobbed hair? Asked for the manager?

The amount of parents who are convinced someone is actively trying to steal their child at any given moment seems excessive today. Likely fueled by social media hoaxes and warnings.

I support parents being cautious and attentive, but the tendency to over react seems problematic too.

And I agree with 4:15. The number of shoppers that refuse to move their own cart, much less their demon spawn is annoying. So many seem to be looking for a viral video moment of being the victim that they are willing to be over the top rude in the hopes of causing drama.

Its fascinating to me that these types seem to shop in large communal herds and make Walmart a social outing/date night.

Similar situation happened in the last year at one of the metro area shopping centers. Woman told another woman a guy was recording her kids with his cellphone, taking pictures, something like that. Of course everyone went safe, she packs the kids away, gets in SUV, calls police. Guy went inside. Police came, checked the guy out. Said everything was fine. He even gave them his phone to check. Nothing. Ok, that happens, case closed, right.

Well they go to FB, put pictures of the guy's vehicle, his name, and all that jazz up there. Here come the friends freaking out, telling her they are glad she is ok, and all that stuff. Someone saw it and told the dude. He pops up, explains how he left his glasses at home, was trying to read his phone, and went shopping inside the store. Explained how the police interviewed them and how he was glad to cooperate. It went downhill from there. He got pretty mad and kept typing when he should have probably shut up. They all ganged up on him, hell, he was accused of being guilty because he was defending himself so vigorously. Just one big mess. He said he would sue but no idea if he ever did. Social media just made it all ten times worse as it does too often.

Just remember... This doesn't happen to handsome men. If you aren't a handsome man in public, you are a target for all manner of accusations. He was lucky that Walmart has so many cameras. Otherwise, his ass would be guilty until he could prove himself innocent!

BTW someone needs to tell these Karens that nobody wants their little F.A.S. afflicted hellspawn!

Who in the hell would want one of the kids running loose in Walmart? Even the parents do not care about them enough to make them act like people instead of animals.

I don't shop in Pearl or Jackson!
I'm actually running out of places to shop!
I order as much as I can on Amazon!

Kroger is getting harder to shop in too. I was at the self-checkout and had a problem with a bag of carrots. One of the employees gave me a dressing down because I couldn't get the carrots to ring up. All I said was I'm not a cashier. Boy, she went ballistic on me. Cross that store off too! This COVID pandemic has made everyone super crazy!

Typical hysterical over-reacting nonsense. Yet another reason why I hate women so much.

For you wanna be cops and attorneys, "A Terry stop in the United States allows the police to briefly detain a person based on reasonable suspicion of involvement in criminal activity. Reasonable suspicion is a lower standard than probable cause which is needed for arrest. When police stop and search a pedestrian, this is commonly known as a stop and frisk. When police stop an automobile, this is known as a traffic stop. If the police stop a motor vehicle on minor infringements in order to investigate other suspected criminal activity, this is known as a pretextual stop." When we get called about any possible crime we must investigate. Even if and when anyone you don't like calls us.

@ 8:55 is absolutely right. I would have left all of that shit right there, flipped the shopping cart over and walked out. The "pandemic" is still ass-raping us in certain areas and factors of our society - still to date and will continue to do so I'm afraid.

I saw the FB post. It, along with a different store/scenario are shared ad nauseam every week or so. Always some Karen type wanting to make a scene or be noticed and have their ego stroked and everyone telling them how brave, etc. they are. It's to the point now that I can look at the person posting, and their friends sharing and tell if it is true or not.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
