Is Carlos clowning again? Troopers arrested Robert Andre Morton on July 12, 2019 for speeding at 102 mph, resisting arrest, failure to provide drivers license on demand, disorderly conduct, and violation of the child restraint law. A video of the arrest went viral. Attorney Carlos Moore swooped in, picked up Morton as a client, and started holding press conferences on suing the Mississippi Highway Patrol. However, the Grenada attorney has yet to file a lawsuit.
The video shows Horton refusing to give his driver's license to a trooper. Morton instead kept asking "What did I do?" as he resisted the trooper. The standoff lasted for several minutes until another officer arrived. The two troopers took him down to the ground and subdued him before placing him under arrest. The incident took place on Highway 45 in Clay County.
Horton's friends circulated a shorter video on Facebook that conveniently omitted the trooper telling Horton he was driving at 101 mph. A Horton friend, Porsha Shields, provided color commentary while she videotaped the arrest. Police arrested her as well. The longer video is posted below.
Carlos Moore and Robert Horton started telling anyone and everyone they were going to sue the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The Clarion-Ledger reported on August 23, 2019:
Morton is represented by attorney Carlos Moore, who said his client was afraid and trying to understand why he was being detained.Moore said he intends to file a lawsuit on behalf of Morton.“It’s not unlawful to ask questions,” Moore said. “This is America.”
The Clown and his client announced they were going to sue on the Roland Martin Show on August 1, 2019.
Mr. Moore said (6:50) he and his client were going to "pursue federal charges" against the troopers. He also said they were going to sue the troopers for violating Horton's civil rights. Martin conveniently left out that Horton was speeding at 102 mph.
Well, it is nearly two years later and guess what? There is no lawsuit. The Clay County Circuit Court docket shows no lawsuits. There are none in the federal court system. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in an email:
We received a notice of claim pursuant to the MTCA back in 2019, but I don’t see an actual complaint or any evidence of ongoing litigation in our files. I also checked Clay County’s docket on MEC, and I don’t see a complaint there.
This is not the first time Carlos the Clown has talked big to the media only to quietly slink away at a later date. He accused a Rankin County substitute teacher of making racist statements to a student. He sued the school and temp agency and quietly dropped the lawsuit when the cameras weren't around. He fabricated a phony Tupelo police memo that said "It was open season on black people" at another press conference. He admitted in court the memo was phony. Moore held a similar press conference when he sued Belhaven only to get sanctioned when the Judge discovered he and his client destroyed exculpatory evidence. A powerful press conference was held last year in Moss Point as Mr. Moore thundered a wrongful death lawsuit against the city. He announced the next day he was getting off the case.
See a pattern?
Once again, Mr. Moore gets his face in the media and the media is simply too lazy to question him or follow up. Meanwhile, the victims carry on with their names forever smeared while Carlos clowns again.

Moore would be a great Mayor for Jackson. All talk, no action. Just like the current King Mayor Lumumba.
Fact: If the Clown were white he wouldn't be getting away with this crap.
Thank you for this incident update KF. This was good work by the Troopers. Given a bad situation by the offender, first trooper took his time with the driver’s constant goading & hand movement, along with secondary person on scene. Second trooper arrived and “assisted providing immediate justice” on behalf of law abiding citizens.
Carlos the Clown knows he’s wrong in these matters but chooses to continue misleading impressionable and ignorant others.
Carlos got what he was looking for, publicity as a "civil rights activist" attorney. Roland Martin's show and social media have no need for the full factual story as long as they can promote their narrative of Black men being brutalized by Whites. They couldn't care less if the whole thing is bogus as long as they have their show. Neither could Carlos as long as he gets his publicity. He got it. Clown on!

Exactly! Hammer, meet nail!
Folks like Martin and Moore aren't out to help people they believe have been wronged. It's exactly the opposite. They couldn't care less about the "victims," they're only seeking the perception of helping.....just enough to get the attention of the growing "victim class" in America today. Unfortunately, actions like these only serve to increase the size of the victim class and help enlarge the wallet of folks like Martin and Moore.
In the category of 'High Drama', may I have the envelope please?
That’s old news, any follow up on the young man that stood his ground in Rankin County? How about the young lady that ran off with BLM after her father took back her car? If I recall she was arrested then released.
Guess who represented both of those parties?
Why hasn't the Bar done anything about his FB posts of the young man that committed suicide?
If he'd told them he was going 101 mph because she was bitching in his ear the whole time, they'd probably have let him go.
He got what was coming to him a 4:17 in the video. I was disappointed I didn't get to see them slap the cuffs on that loud mouth female.

Yes, except that the Speeder probably would not have been able to finish that explanation, since his girlfriend would still have been interrupting his every word, with her incessant ear-splitting jabber.
