As Jackson becomes more dangerous, the police unfortunately are finding they must fight the citizens as well as the criminals. Check out this video of what took place when a yute did some donuts on West Street in front of a police car.
The videographer wrote:
They stopped the police from chasing this guy he did 2 doughnuts in front of the police and ran off then all the cars pulled in front of the police I thought y’all didn’t like the police but you give em reason the city gone the kids lost
To make matters worse, a deputy was arresting someone at a nearby store when this action went down. He was forced to release the suspect and take off to help his fellow officer in need.

Jackson has been a lost cause for years and anyone who thinks differently is not rational.
Obviously the solution is to defund the police. Just let the “citizens” take over. A la the Hunger Games and/or The Purge.
What happened to the no pursuit policy? I thought you could do stuff like this and just drive off and they’d let you go?
This is exactly the City that Lumumba has created.
Chokwe Antar Lumumba, King Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi
Damn you institutionalized racism!!!!!
This is not unusual they run red lights and stop signs also. They have no regard for the law. They buy up these old police cruisers and just ride around racing and slinging dope. It's just the lifestyle now. Control of the streets are gone. We are turning into every other major city that the left controls. What is going to happen Jackson is going to turn into a free for all and the surrounding cities are going to have law and order and no person with any sense will stay there. I don't see anything changing until the state steps in and says this is the capitol city and withhold any funds the state provides until they fix the police dept. That is the only leverage the state has.
Jackson isn't a major city and is barely a minor city at this point.
It's not disrespect for the police. It's disrespect for everything. These are the children, now adults, of a generation without home training. They are raised in the streets and they find that they now have advocates in high places. Those advocates don't live among them so they don't give a damn. But sooner or later you and I will be confronted....
@9:23. It really isn't the cops that need to be fixed, it's the city leadership and Admin folks in PD not need to go, but the citizens are happy with lackluster performance so why change. The State sure isn't gonna come in here. Just leave the folks the way they are and hope it is a self contained problem. Won't stay that way after a bit, but one can only hope and pray.
"Damn you institutionalized racism!!!!!" Whenever I need a pick me up, I think of this and laugh out loud. Thanks
Keep it up Jackson!
Just keep it IN Jackson.
Don't come over here.
The government has turned the city into a giant maximum-security prison to deal with a 400% increase in crime. A 50-foot (15 m) wall surrounds the city, bridges have been mined, rivers are patrolled by helicopters, and all prisoners are sentenced to life terms.
Is this a window into the future or the plot of a movie/documentary that came out in 1981?
They are raised in the streets and they find that they now have advocates in high places.
What they have found is a total absence of authority, control and legal structure. Inside of that vacuum they do what they please and know they do so with impunity.
For all the collective disdain for Stokes, he is the one person Lumumba responds to most aggressively in public when criticized by Stokes.
Stokes is calling for the National Guard, a policing authority beyond Lumumba's reach, because he understands how quickly the basic semblance of law and order is breaking down and realizes how far this will go as long as it is left unchecked. Today's video is only further evidence.
Jackson is a lawless city. Lumumba is a total incompetent. Stokes knows the score.
San Fran, Chicago, Portland and Jackson will be case studies in two decades on the failure of the "defund the police" narrative. But San Fran, Chicago and Portland have assets, culture and money to bounce back from the fiasco of the 2020's. Jackson will be far, far worse than it is today, if you can imagine that.
Someone left the cage doors open at the zoo.
Nero should stop fiddling and immediately commission a study to help them get to the bottom of this problem.

It's ironic coming from a guy who, 5 short years ago, advocated to throw bottles and rocks at suburb police. It's telling that even this hoodrat representative can see the writing on the wall and the educated Progressive can't.
Jackson not as bad as San Francisco. Looters were captured on video Monday ransacking a Neiman Marcus in San Francisco as thefts continue to plague businesses in the area.
It's all over. Check out Video. Copy & paste url to menu bar.

I can only believe there are some good JPD officers. Officers who want to help their community and make things better and safer. But I'm sure for each one of them there are ones wanting a paycheck and the fringe benefits of being a crooked cop. That being said I really feel for the ones trying to do the right thing and be good officers. You know that are faced everyday with why do I keep doing this? The scary part is they will slowly but surely move out. They will go to the Madison SO the Brandon PD The MHP, etc. once all that is left is bad cops Jackson will certainly go from a decline to a nose dive at full throttle. I figure about 2-3 years to go then you will be able to sell tickets to the mayhem.
This same thing is happening to teachers in the JPS system.

July 6, 2021 at 1:40 PM; you do know it's the "educated progressives" that are the ones actually fomenting, encouraging, advocating, inciting, condoning, and funding this exact type of behavior, don't you? the ones in the streets are the useful idiots, the foot soldiers of the elites that are pulling the strings.
12:05 “commission a study”. What a novel and wonderful idea!
@11:29 am:
Stokes once said (twenty +/- years ago?) about a detractor: "He doesn't have enough sense to empty piss from his boots." Which statement implied Stokes pees in his boots and, presumably after sloshing about for a while, does have the sense (of smell?) to empty it.
Does Stokes still refer to himself in the third person? Does he still drag an entourage about? What a comic figure!
Saint D is " hit or miss".
It depends upon what floor one lands on after surgery.
Will Kurt Russell return to his role as Snake Plisken in Escape From Jackson? Who will he be sent in to rescue? Tate?
He was comical on day one ( after his first election 40 years ago . But back then he didn't even have to sit down to mouth breath and wipe his brow ... but in 2021, he speaks the truth.
dope boys, boo boo water, ect.
You're so right, 3:46. We were so busy fighting communism outside our borders that we neglected to be vigilant inside them. We have allowed our higher education centers to be taken over by American hating Marxist. They have used indoctrination to turn our very own children against us.
Wally Cleaver: "Golly gee Beaver, don't tell our parent's what we saw tonight" .
Beaver Cleaver: " Well gee Wally, we saw that on North State Street last week.
Wally: " But that was in The Fondren"
Beaver: " No, Wally ... we were almost to County Line Road.
But changing the flag was supposed to stop all this right?
Is Chokwe Antar Lumumba the cause . . . or the effect?
I.e., first came the takeover of Jackson by the lawless. Without that, Chokwe could never have been elected.
Anyone remember "Escape from New York?" How about Old Detroit?
The criminals apparently own the police.
Once as a young officer my patrol car had the Sideview mirror knocked off on North Side Dr. as the subject attempted to run the red light. I activated my blue lights to go behind the subject at this point my car was hit again in the rearend by a different drive. I bet you can’t guess who got wrote up and suspended for violation of city pursue policy.
