The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On February 22, 2021 at 5:46pm officers of the Madison Police Department responded to 1029 Hwy 51 in the City of Madison regarding an unresponsive male inside of a vehicle. Once on the scene, medical personnel and officers were able to revive the individual after it was determined that he was suffering from complications that were related to opioids. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was released the following morning. Investigators began an investigation on information collected from the original call and they were able to identify an individual involved in the purchase of the substance.
During the course of the investigation, investigators were able to arrest Carlos Dominique Allen, DOB: 06/27/1988 of 2750 N Siwell Rd Jackson, MS. He is charged with Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Two Counts of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. This arrest took place in the City of Madison with the assistance of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Madison/Rankin District Attorney’s Office.
Allen was found to be in possession of several dosage units of Fentanyl disguised to resemble Oxycodone Hydrochloride stamped “30 M”. Investigators have seen an increase of individuals purchasing this substance and having adverse reactions to the substance sometimes resulting in the death of the individual. While conducting the investigation, investigators were notified that the victim from the call on February 22, 2021 had passed away; however, investigators are awaiting toxicology and autopsy results to determine the cause of death. Carlos Dominique Allen will have his initial appearance in The City of Madison Municipal Court on February 25, 2021 and the case will be forwarded to District Attorney John “Bubba” Bramlett for presentation to the Madison County Grand Jury.

Looks like Mayor Mary Butler should be spending more time policing her own streets instead of suing the public over medical marijuana. Clearly fentanyl is pouring across the southern border with assistance from the Chinese Government. But instead of declaring war on the cartels or the Chinese, the Prez is now opening the country to another deadly invasion.
Charge him with murder..
817, nice try but no cigar.
Looks to me like Mayor Mary and her PD are doing quite well in Madison handling the issue of this press release and her arguments about how Mississippi should follow its own statutes.
The Madison PD investigated, and arrested, the (probable, as JJ would say) future felon. Good job by them.
It will continue and get worse until we change the laws and hold these thug dealers accountable for murder and support HB 1140. There is someone in Jackson stamping these imitation pills leaving a trail of affluent Madison kids in the grave. Parents need to stay attentive and get their head out of their asses instead of worrying about keeping up with the Jones's. They are targeting and murdering our babies at an alarming rate and the media doesn't give a shit about covering it. Seven kids in the last two weeks. Wake the hell up parents or live out the rest of your life in a nightmare of eternal grief and despair. Until you've lost a child you have never experienced real pain. Trust me
Should've done his crime in the city of Jackson, where he lives. He would already be free again to do the same thing again.
Parchment is to good for this scumbag. Taking the lives of our young should put him on death row. No parent should never bury their child.
“I am the one who knocks”.
@9:46 it’s Parchman not Parchment. That is a cooking paper.
Madison parents should wake up and know that our kids can purchase drugs from anywhere. Never say that your kid won’t do it because they can. This was a college graduate with a good job. He did become involved with shady people and someone quit paying attention that was close to him. 25 is too young to die and old enough to know better. Addiction is a terrifying thing! Stop worrying what your town folks will say and get your child help if you suspect drugs are involved.

"Taking the lives of our young should put him on death row.".....
So, this "yute" had no part of his demise? He was just minding his business and somehow got was forced to ingest a chemical?
Should there be a government regulation to make illegal drugs safe?
Let this be a lesson boys and girls, BEFORE you participate in illegal drugs, take them to your nearest police station and have them tested first for any harmful side effects.
Fentanyl, whether pure or fake, is some bad shit. It's bad NOW and it was bad when it was available through prescription. Accidental overdose using prescribed patches almost cost me a family member.
Might as well pay somebody forty bucks to hit you on the head with a hammer, just to see of it's a pleasurable experience.
In my opinion, if you are still taking responsibility for your child's screw-ups when they are supposed to be grown, you might be part of the reason why they aren't.
"The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was released the following morning."
"While conducting the investigation, investigators were notified that the victim from the call on February 22, 2021 had passed away;"
So he died after being released?
i’m 50. used to be that teens smoked weed. there were a few who did harder stuff..but most didn’t
today’s youths choose the harder stuff first. there’s a problem all over the metro area with this particular drug. the “war on drugs” failed.
I hate to burst y’all’s ignorant xenophobic bubble, but fentanyl is banned in China as well. The meth and fentanyl being smuggled from Asia is being produced and sold by the DPRK for hard currency. It may pass through syndicates with connections to Chinese nationals, but they are likely targets of Chinese law enforcement as well.
Apparently, they took the “good stuff” off of the street with the arrest, forcing this person to find another dealer. He won’t make that mistake again.
We need laws to make drugs illegal.
Oh, wait...
Keep Jackson out Of Madison. There that should start the fireworks HA
7:41 AM
Any other CCP apologia you would like to spew?
Jackson and Flora provide all the drugs for Madison teens and early twenty somethings that want to still do it. There is a dealer in Flora right now that the Madison college kids Venmo for drugs and call it “food.” And yeah, if my young adult is dabbling in drugs, I love them enough to stay on that a** to straighten up. It’s called love. I’d do it in their 30’s, 40’s... whenever. Not making excuses. I would be tough. Most madison parents are not that way. They are too scared to admit their child experiments with drugs. The church members will gossip and ruin the family name. Which is also true. It’s best to keep it quiet. However, being covert in keeping up with your child is beneficial.
The Legislature passed House Bill 585 in 2014. It was going to revolutionize the criminal justice system. It reduced the punishment for illegally selling controlled substances among other things. It also reduced the punishment for theft crimes allowing criminals to steal more money if you will before the crime became a felony. 585 also hamstrung municipal courts and justice courts insofar as punishing criminals in their court went. The Legislature had some nice euphemism for House Bill 585. I cannot recall what is was called. At the time I read the bill I told my friends that the legislature should call it "The Turning Mississippi into Jackson Act." The dope dealers in Jackson have been emboldened and will now go to Rankin and Madison County to deal drugs. Prior to 585 they generally would not because Judges in those Counties would lay the wood to drug dealers.
@10:18AM
What an interesting way to admit to being a willfully ignorant tool.
Fentanyl literally feels like heaven. Thats why so many people are willing to risk death for the experience.
The victim was probably an upstanding citizen with an addiction that nobody knew about. His father could've been a judge, a lawyer, a police officer and a little league coach who just wanted to see his son work hard and be happy and successful. Even those of superior character can fall victim to such a terrible substance. Just say no, people.
Damn @7:41 you bring stupid to a new level you know that! Well sure fentanyl is illegal in China, the punishment if your caught with it is death. But that doesn’t stop the Chinese Communist Party from selling the chemicals to the Mexican cartels. They also sell the the tools and hardware along with instructions on how to make it. Dude you gotta stop watching CNN (Chinese News Network). The communist have no problem helping the cartels flood America with the poison to weaken the population. Anyone who thinks this isn’t what’s happening are numb on both ends. As to Mayor Mary doing such a great job I’d like to hear the statistics on overdose due to medical marijuana in Mississippi.
the news does not tell you anything the victim was a drug addict after he was released from the hospital he went and took more of the same drug and that time it took his life the so called criminal is the one that called for help the "victim" knew exactly what he was taking and the risks of taking he was well aware that the pills had fentanyl in them but that was his vice sad he died but he knew he was playing with fire and he got burnt now ppl want to make carlos out of the bad person here if he didnt give it to him somebody else would and it would have had the same outcome he tried to save his life nobody forced him to take the fentanyl he wanted it that was his deug
Damn @5:54 that’s the longest sentence I’ve ever seen,
5:54 - You're a jackass. I knew the kid and, yeah, he had his problems. But, Carlos is a criminal who made drugs to look like another drug so he could make more money - the victim 10000% did not know he was taking a fentanyl pill. "if he didnt give it to him somebody else would and it would have had the same outcome." Listen to yourself. So, it's ok, we don't care about anyone who has a drug problem - all hope is lost? Are you dumb? And, that low life 10000% did not call for help. His best friend found him in that parking lot and his mother found him later around 3 am - after being released from the hospital shortly after midnight ("the next morning"). That's five hours after the cops showed up (I know math might not be your strong point). I'm not trying to say my friend wasn't trying to take drugs, I'm asking you to show some humility and respect for a family and community no longer with a loved one. I pray you never have to lose someone close to you like this, only to have some ass hole demoralize them three days later.
I just want to say His parents were great parents and when I say great I mean awesome parents. Fully in his life loved him so much. He struggled with depression at times and things were hard. We will never have answers on his reasons or even if he knew that was the drug. It’s not a parents fault for their children making decisions. They were awesome parents and he was an awesome kid. It isn’t the parents who messed up and they never made him feel like a failure of a child. He was grown and no matter what you can hide what you don’t want people knowing. Don’t make assumptions on what happened. The last thing the parents needed was seeing shitty comments blaming them after they lost their only child. This is the drug dealers fault. He should have never been given this drug in the first place. This is manslaughter. He did not know the drug he was taking. he wanted to make his pain go away but not be dead. I’m not saying any drug is right but this is manslaughter. He was given a different drug than he asked for. I pray none of y’all have to experience the pain friends and family feel. Find some respect. And if you wanna say it was his fault go to hell because you don’t deserve anything more and I mean that.
