A domestic abuser is on the lamb after Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeff Reynolds ordered his arrest. Judge Reynolds found Cole Rowland guilty of domestic violence. Unfortunately for everyone concerned, Rowland violated no-contact orders, violated the conditions of his sentence, and completely blew off the judge.
This tale of violence and stupidity began last year at the Motel 6 in Northeast Jackson. Drunk and high on meth, Rowland lured the mother of his baby to his motel room. Seeing he was on a bender, she tried to leave but was beaten for her troubles. The assault resulted in injury to the victim although thankfully she managed to call 911. JPD arrived and arrested Rowland.
At his trial, Rowland proceeded to blame the victim as most domestic abusers do. Judge Reynolds sentenced the defendant to serve 30 days in the Raymond jail with no eligibility for early release. Upon release, Rowland was supposed to attend an outpatient substance-abuse treatment program and submit to random drug tests. The Court ordered him to have no contact with the victim.
The victim and her father appeared but Rowland was no where to be found at a 90-day status conference that was scheduled for February 4. The victim testified Rowland repeatedly contacted her in person, by phone, and on Facebook. Rowland never enrolled in a treatment program. It was as if he was not even in court the day he was sentenced.
Ignoring a judge is never a good idea and such was the case in well, this case. Judge Reynolds sentenced Rowland to serve six months in jail for one violation and another six months for the second violation. He suspended one day of the sentence. However, there was the matter of Rowland's absence in Court.
Judge Reynolds issued a bench warrant for his arrest on February 4. Rowland is still at large.

See this quite a bit in our court system. These cases are very volatile issues for anyone involved. This is, unfortunately from what I witness, the main reason the abused party won't file charges or go through with prosecution.
" A domestic abuser is on the lamb after Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeff Reynolds ordered . . . "
Another Jackson thug is running free on the streets.
No doubt JPD has arrested this thug more than once. . . but as usual the "courts" have
released yet another POS.
The correct expression is "on the lam". I like rosemary, garlic and lemon juice "on the lamb".
"On the lamb"
Does that mean he's involved in bestiality as well?
Or maybe you meant to say "On the lam"
On the "lamb?" He's a sheep shagger too? It's "on the lam."
9:03,
" A domestic abuser is on the lamb after Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeff Reynolds ordered his arrest.”
There, I fixed your academically dishonest quote that was used to suggest that the same judge released the perp.
How do you justify posting stuff you have purposefully edited to give a false impression?
This is not the Cole I know. He had a very difficult upbringing but always managed to stay positive and look towards the future. He is a loving father that wants to do right. But somehow he, like many others have been sidetracked by drug addiction. It’s easy to read this junk that kingfish writes and think that Cole is a cold hearted criminal but that not the truth. Stop vilifying Cole and maybe think with compassion on his experiences with addiction.
Just another white-boy punk-ass heart-throb. His only decision now is what kind of neck-tat he'll get in the pokey. Needs a real good ass whuppin' (make that two) in the jail house and another one by her uncles and cousins when he gets back on the streets. Hopefully he will be made to walk crooked for the rest of his life.
@8:39 - maybe if he had beat up your daughter, you'd think different about the little angel.
If it’s true that he’s on the lamb, I’d start by looking in all the local Mediterranean restaurants and the organic farms. I met a guy last week that raises them, you can even go to his place and do your own slaughtering. That’s where I’d look.
@8:39 - he IS a criminal that beats his baby mamma. People who are loving, don't show their children love by beating their mother. I don't care what temperature his heart is...
I'm going to seriously consider what you say.
Meth is a powerful drug. Once a guy gets hooked on it, well, he can do some stupid and violent crap. The Judge gave him a way out. Sent him to 30 days and then said get into a treatment program. Court was trying to help him turn his life around. He completely blew it off as well as everything the Judge said. He may have a drug problem but he crossed the line when he beat the mother of his child.
Sometimes jail is not to protect society from you but is to protect you from yourself. These are all misdemeanors. Once arrested, he will spend a year in jail. It won't ruin his life per se but is a serious bump in the road. Hopefully, he will learn from it.
9:39 could have saved a lot of keystrokes and simply posted, "Cut him some slack".
No slack. It's rock bottom time. And the court of public opinion gets to voice its opinion as well.
Here's his mugshot from a couple of years ago - arrested in Madison County for aggravated assault. Doesn't look like a nice guy to me - more like an out-of-control, knuckle-bustin' redneck.

I think KF's comment is spot on. When a judge presents a way out and orders you to take it, and you blow it off and flee custody, you are no longer a victim of addiction. You are a volunteer.
