Murder suspect blessed by Judge Tomie Green in 2019 murder.
JPD arrested Augena Funches yesterday. for the murder of Kiana Singleton on I-220 last month. She is ineligible for bond because she was out on bond for a previous murder charge.
Funches and Singleton got into an argument in the parking lot of either the M Bar or Zaxby's on January 24 (Different sources provided different locations.). Singleton left but Funches allegedly pursued her on I-220 and shot into her car, allegedly killing her.
This is not the first time Funches stands accused of murder. A Hinds County grand jury indicted her for first-degree murder in the shooting death of Kiona Morgan on January 23, 2019 in Clinton. Hinds County Circuit Judge Tomie Green set her bond at $50,000, which she posted.
Kingfish note: Yet another deadly blessing occurs. Don't expect the Mayor who is an expert on everything to say anything.

Does this make her a thugett?
Damn
This is proof positive that the thugs and thugetts know that they can get away from murder because of the failed criminal justice system in Hinds/Jackson.
Has anyone started compiling the rates of folks who go before Judge Green, post bond, and commit another crime?
5 grand to get out of jail on a 1st degree murder charge that will take years to get an indictment and actually be tried. Wow.
Those of you that can, leave, while you still can.
I defy anyone to find one perp of one of these violent crimes in Jackson who shouldn't have already been in jail or AT THE LEAST have a rap sheet as long as your arm. Jackson is getting what they vote for.
What? No bond? She could lose her job. Damn.
she's sort of hot. in a murderess sort of way..
12:45 PM
Then maybe she shouldn't track people across a city and murder them.
Perhaps Kiana Singleton would still be alive if Augena Funches were in jail or prison. What kind of lesson do people in Jackson learn after they shoot a person and are arrested for murder? Answer - it only costs $5,000 to stay out of jail and murder more people.
That Tomie Green is still on the bench and will be there as long as she wants says it all about Jackson.
I perused the real estate listings in NE Jacktown yesterday....FIRE SALE! One nice crib in the CCJ compound had a $160,000 price reduction. Even gates won't make one feel safe.
Where did she matriculate?
Murder is Hinds County is barely a misdemeanor. Aren't we blessed?
Wait a second...this couldn't have happened because she had a curfew at 10p, and this murder happened later. Must've been someone else. Curfews work!
I know a sue way to cut the murder rate for Jacktown. Put Judge Green in jail and keep her there.
The left likes to point fingers and blame Republicans and "hold them accountable" for voting for Trump. Its about damn time you Jacksonians start holding those who contribute to her campaign to accountable for her blessings. Brent Hazzard, Merrida Coxwell, Dorsey Carson, Dennis Sweet, Dick Molpus, Danny Cupit, Jody Ownens, . They all contribute and many more. Mostly attorneys. In college football, or most any business, this is called pay for play. Feel free to look up their names on the finance reports on the MS Sec of States website. Its all there. These are the people who need to be called out for enabling her.
Dang, we gave her a party when she bonded out the first time! Now this stupid girl expects us to put money on her books. She had the nerve to asked me to call Judge Green! Just kidding!
All the jokes aside, this is sad!
I have GOT to get out of here.
Green has to be a nut case!
She certainly seems content with her place in life. Love that half smile. I'd let her out she seems to have achieved her latest objective. Probably will take that narrow path to righteousness now.
Its a crying ass shame that judges cannot be held accountable for rulings and records like tommie green.
The 'Commission On Judicial Performance' is a stinking joke to allow this so called judge...A black judge who should be all about making things better in Jackson and BLM...to continue to stay on the bench.
Black lives are suffering because of the rulings of tommie green.
That's it.
I am handing in my letter of resignation this Friday effective immediately.
My company has been told time and time again to relocate and they won't listen, so I'm out of here.
I'm not going to work where murderers are let out on bond and allowed to murder again.
And yes, my house has been for sale for 18 months. F--k it the lender can have it back and I'll worry about my credit later.
@2:06, you nailed it. These "pay to play" attorneys who contribute to her campaign need to be EXPOSED and called out. Shine a light on them!!
Let her out. She needs to try for the Hat Trick. Won't be hard to find after that as she doesn't leave the area.
The report of what happened here is maddening enough. What pisses me off even further is that smug "I ain't worry 'bout catching no charge" grin on her face.
Twenty-four years old and has already killed twice - allegedly.
Once a person gets a taste for killing, nothing else quite satisfies it. Ask any hunter after a few beers.
Methinks her grin might not last long in prison.
She is smiling because she knows the criminal justice system in Hinds County is Relaxed.
"Once a person gets a taste for killing, nothing else quite satisfies it. Ask any hunter after a few beers."
False.
She’s natural born.
@6:22pm Yep. At 5'2", and 130 lbs. she's going to get in line real quick. That smirk can get you killed in the can.
@2:06 - It is not uncommon for attorneys to donate $$ to both Republican and Democratic candidates in the same election. Have you looked at the other candidates that your list of attorneys have contributed to?
"Once a person gets a taste of entitlements, nothing else quite satisfies. Ask any liberal after a few college lectures."
Thereupon, like magic, it was fixed for ya.
Bless them!
@ 6:14 no, why would 2:06 do that? Those other "candidates" aren't releasing killers to kill again...But I could be wrong
So Judge Green puts a value of $50;000 for a life. This is discretionary as their are guidelines for setting bond! I just wonder what her child or family members life is worth?
Judge Green is on a quest to lower the nationwide average
Murder Bail Amount
These cases often have no bail set, i.e. the person will not be released pending trial. If the charge is a 2nd-degree murder charge, the bail is typically around $250,000. If the person is charged as an accessory to 1st-degree murder, then the cost is doubled, or $500,000. For 1st degree murder, if bail is set, it is not uncommon for it to be near the $1,000,000 mark.
