Meechigan Meltdown

It is probably a safe bet Ole Miss fans don't really miss Shea Patterson.  He has had less than a stellar career at Meechigan since he transferred there from the Country Club of the South.  His brother threw a tantrum on Instragram yesterday:

“What a joke…u let this guy call plays @jgattis22 and he’s never done it before…what a joke…he’s hot garbage absolutely terrible…and u continue to just let Harbaugh run Michigan as the head coach as he played there and was so absolutely average as a player…it’s unbelievable and ridiculous…u pay this motherf**ker 10 million dollars to be absolute average…highway robbery…he’s hot f**king garbage…regardless of who is at Qb and who you want to keep the heat on the starting quarterback that’s fine…when it appears that a defense has absolutely f**king given up…make the spin u want…my bro is a baller and will be a G in the NFL can’t f**king wait.”

I dunno, Sean.  Maybe your brother was always overrated.  Funny how I rarely, if ever, hear Ole Miss fans say they wish they had him back.

Most Ole Miss fans I know would not want Shea Patterson. However, 90% of the Ole Miss fans I know would take Hugh Freeze back in a heartbeat. Hugh was/is the biggest cheater in football (maybe ever), but they love him. The NCAA doesn't know 10% of what he did. The man knows how to cheat, all while praising the Lord.

What used to be a drunken comment in your living room as you watch a game is now broadcast to the world in seconds and parsed and discussed ad nauseam for days. People hide their bias and their level of knowledge behind avatars and false monikers, only to be regarded
as part of a huge cumulative mass expert of consensus opinion. Meanwhile, there exist a whole other judicial wing of digital deputies actively investigating every word against an ever-changing political correctness code. These law enforcers of acceptable thought eagerly discount not just the person’s opinion but the person themselves. Step out of what is currently acceptable and you are thrust in front of the court of social justice, sentenced and pilloried.

Here we know the bias - it’s his damn brother. We have no idea of his football knowledge or his mental condition when commenting.
And, we can see for ourselves that Michigan and UM are, and have been for some time, a hot mess.

So a brother makes some comments, that 20 years ago would be heard only by those sitting next him, in defense of his sibling’s talent at the expense of a highly paid coach - No big deal.

brother seems to be a long long way from that little Christian school in Lousiana where Shea was playing. It all started unraveling when dad sent him to IMG.

Is saying Shea will play Guard?

He was just like Chad Kelly and Matt Corral will be just like him. When you stop making exceptions for bad behavior and the person has to suffer the consequences they become a much better person in the long run. If Patterson makes it to the next level he has to make it on his own and they can't blame everyone else for his mistakes. Calling out a coach for bad play calling is really a cop out and the current generation blames everyone else when things don't go right.

frankly, most high school athletes just aren't good enough to play at the collegiate level, let alone division I.

most division I college players aren't good enough for the NFL.

don't blame the coaches--especially one who coached a superbowl...

Patterson, Machine Gun Kelly, Matt Corral, Masoli, Bro Wallace. My how the plantation has come since the Manning days. Besides Patterson and Corral, where are Kelly, Masoli, and Wallace post college play?

It was obvious when Shea left Ole Miss that he was not going to beat out Ta'amu for the starting position. So they made up some story about how the coaching staff lied to him etc. It's funny how his stats dropped when he didn't have AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Dawson Knox, and Demarkus Lodge to catch his passes.

I said it then and I say it again, when the Patterson's turned their backs on LSU, I knew nothing good was going to happen for this kid.

@10:50: If the NCAA only knows 10% of what Freeze did, why don't you enlighten us about the other 90%. Obviously, you must know--or are you just a hypocritical blowhard bulldog fan who thinks Leo Lewis having $11,000 funneled to him through an assistant jr. college coach was legitimate?

Anonymous said...

10:50, you have no clue. If you think the penny ante violations are anywhere near what the big boys pay, then you have no clue about big time college football. Two schools in particular have been running up the price of top 4 and 5 star players. It’s a big time business and cheating is everywhere. Coaches know it, the NCAA know it and those who cover college football know it. But no one will talk about it. Look at all what the FBI uncovered in college basketball. LSU, Kansas, Auburn MSU just to name a few.

12:40, WTF is Tyson Lee? Or Chris Relf? Or Sleepy Robinson? Or Tony Shell?

Geez, of all the things you want to pick a fight about, you pick Ole Miss QBs? I'd take any QB on your list compared to any QB at MSU ever, except for Dak. Prove me wrong.

Take any Ole Miss QB since 2006 and put him on LSU's roster and LSU would be an instant national contender. You think LSU would not have given Bama fits with Bo Wallace or Chad Kelly or Ta'amu?

Shae Shae has always been waaaay over rated. He'll never sniff an NFL playing field.

Since 1968 OM has had 2 AP 1st team all SEC QB's....both were Mannings. State has had 5 (Dak twice).

Love to hear the story how the Sharks parted ways with Shea’s brother the “ the coach”. Don’t think they could fire him when Shea left but they certainly couldn’t keep him. Probably payed him a ton of money and told him to lay low a few years. He has been a ghost.

How does UM attract so many thugs? Except for Kelly leaving the Broncos to become an unsuccessful nighttime vacuum cleaner salesman, The closest thing to a real quarterback they’ve ever had was Archie and Peyton. Peyton is in their just because they all just thought he would play for Ole Miss. Eli broke records because of the others around him. He’s just a hair over average and Hot Garbage for a QB the past few years.

Peyton is one of the funniest tv commercial actors on HULU. Great family story though. I like their documentary.

NCAA ruled Freeze did nothing wrong.

Did freeze ever get out of the hospital bed or was it a dentist chair?

12:16 - The NCAA 'ruled' nothing of the sort. Put up!

Big words, little man - how many Super Bowl rings do YOU have?

I’m a small boy, not a little man. Zero Super Bowl rings for me, Chief. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night and watched ESPN.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
