The Lady or the Tiger?

Former GOP Gubernatorial candidate Robert Foster posted the following message tonight:

The Street Committee says he will endorse...........................  Waller.  Will he? Tune in tomorrow at 9 AM!

Not only is he a do-nothing in the legislature, he is about to prove he is a political whore. He and Waller are polar opposites on policy, yet he is going to endorse Waller. Makes his entire political persona of “I don’t owe anyone anything” seem a little weak and shallow. Bottom line - he is a hypocrite, period!

Good riddance Foster.

He just can't let go of his brief moment in the limelite. He needs to get back to tending that hot-dog cooker at the Texaco. It's plumb out of mustard.

Foster surprised me and made the most sense on the debate stage.

Anonymous said...

He's terrified of having to go back and tend that farm......not his calling, and what's to do what HE wants to do.....which is not work....hence his political efforts.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the title of this post?

If he has any hope of a political future, he will endorse the winner because the winner will have a massive campaign fund in four years and he also has a long memory.

From the comments above, I’d say Tater’s troops are scared.

Little Lord Fauntleroy is going to speak?

Oh my heavens

Whatever shall we do?

Ohhhh.the tots are testy this morning.

Methinks the Tater Lovers doth protest too much

This dude trying to be the kingmaker when he didn't even crack 18% of the vote. This is a good way to be put in a corner for 8 years. Desoto going to Desoto I guess.

Anonymous said...

Foster got 18% of vote in 2019. McDaniel got 17% of the vote in 2018. Other than difference in Desoto County, votes appear to come largely from same area of the state - the Pine Belt.

McDaniel yesterday strongly endorsed Tate, despite his session long disagreements with him personally. But pointing out that Tate is the only conservative in the race, based on their stated policy positions.

Which carries more (if any) influence with this group of voters - Chris or Robert?

J. Tate Reeves is as goofy as they get. Never met the other two.

Whoever he endorses will win. Foster folks will stick with him and believe in him. He ran a social media campaign so one click and they are on board. I’m a Tate fan but I know if we don’t get this endorsement it is over.

When he cuts that frat boy hair of his I might take him seriously.

Robert who?

Foster has a bright political future in MS. Exciting to see him endorsing Waller.

Has Bill Waller told us yet which taxes he'd "swap" in exchange for a gas tax increase?

Of course he hasn't because he doesn't have a clue nor an actual plan.

You have to give him props, he got a sizeable portion of the vote without running a single tv ad. I like a candidate who can be effective on the cheap.

Lot of Taters hot and bothered over someone they claim wasn't a factor.

Everybody said...

Who cares, as soon as they get into office they're going to do what's politically expedient and economically beneficial to them and their supporters. The legislature, governor's and lt. governor's offices are where good ideas go to die.

6:10 am Maybe some people care more about the future of Mississippi ( that would include their own children) than a political future.

If you actually are among those who define success by one's wallet or work , then you don't know many rich people or those who put work above all else and discover that they are replaceable in the work place.

If you're in a runoff, you want the endorsement of any candidate you beat. And if you're a defeated candidate, you should have the good sense to endorse the eventual winner. The only reason Foster should endorse Waller would be that he's either stupid or delusional. He certainly won't be doing any favors for Desoto County if he endorses Waller. But hey, 2028 isn't that far away I guess.

Foster endorses Waller. Waller loses. Foster returns to his life of political irrelevancy. He has no "bright political future" because there is nowhere to go.

Wow, some people on here are relentlessly negative. I do not understand the hate for Foster. I didn’t vote for him, but have interacted with him several times and think he is a nice, earnest, and reasonable person. He ran a good campaign considering he had little resources and no name recognition. I wish him the best with whatever he decides to do next.

Again Tater couldn't even carry his own County or voting precinct.

Just stick a fork in ol' Tater tot, he's done.

Anonymous said...

Goodness! Judging from these posts, the Tate toddlers are out in force.

With Tate now slinging mud against Waller, it shows that Reeves is worried. Mudslinging will hurt Reeves.

8:14, he has. Reduction in income taxes. I believe he has floated the idea of reducing the nation’s highest grocery taxes. I know Hood has. I thought conservatives like use based taxes.

When Tate got on stage and proclaimed that a gas tax would harm working people, I did some quick math. I drive a Duramax with a 35 gallon tank. For argument’s sake, lets say I fill it up 5 times a month. 175 gallons a month times 12 months equals 2100 gallons. A 3 cent increase will cost me $63 a year, and I’m running more fuel through my truck than most folks. I’ll gladly donate $63 a year to fix our shit roads and unsafe bridges.

Anonymous said...

11:47 Tax money for roads and bridges? Hell, we spend enough already, look at Jackson, they didn't spend the good taxpayers hard earned money on roads and bridges and they get along just fine!

Anonymous said...

Uh, 7:35 AM, that's a no-brainer - Foster!
McDaniel has zero credibility.

Please re-read the post at 11:47. Twice.

Seems like most of you just like slinging mud--makes me sick; but hey I guess that is what politics has become. So now it is my turn to say how I really think. And since this is anonymous and I don't have to worry about my "title" or "position" I am going to do just that--and enjoy it.

Soooo here goes

I HIGHLY supported Foster--since December. Not because I ever thought he'd win--I really didn't. I thought he may get 8%, which he exceeded. I supported him because he is a TRUE pro-lifer (hello....the heartbeat bill...yall need to study where that really came from--it wasn't Tot). I supported him because he is GENUINE and actually stands up for what he believes in. #MTMR #NOREGRETS. I supported him because TATE IS HORRIBLE and no one likes his terrible intimidation tactics. Trust me, I am on the "inside" loop as some would say and Foster's supporters will ALL turn out to vote Waller because each of them HATE TATE. Will all of Tate's original voters turn out--I can promise you they won't.

Waller's voters will. I say Waller wins and Tate goes to D.C. to lobby and do work for Haley. He would be better off that way anyway and he fits in with those do-no-good-only-care-about-myself people.

I will never vote for Tate--personality matters (I believe I've posted that on JJ before);and in this case, personality will make him lose. I mean wake up people, he lost his OWN HOME box. That should scream loud and clear at how crooked and disliked he is.

PRAYERS THAT WALLER WINS. LET FRONTIER DO THEIR MAGIC!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
