The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued the following statement.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS) has terminated a Memorandum of Understating (MOU) between DPS and the Jackson Police Department (JPD) regarding investigations of officer-involved shootings by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI). It is MBI’s protocol to not release names of witnesses or officers involved in such cases while the case/investigation is pending. Based on Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba’s recent announcement to release the officers’ names within 72 hours and the previously agreed upon term that all media statements and releases shall be vetted through DPS, MBI will not assist JPD in any future investigations. We fully support and adhere to an impartial, fair, and transparent investigation. We will not compromise an investigation, nor endanger the lives of witnesses, officers, or their families, by being forced by a predetermined 72-hour timeline to release such information or deem a case/investigation complete as a matter of course.

Does anything logical come from the mayors office? Sad times!
At what point is a legal challenge brought against the Mayor's decision to sacrifice officers by broadcasting their name? This would seem to insure that we will always have a declining police force.
Another bit of BS, does the policy say witness names would be released?
I doubt this will change their minds. There is no telling who they will get to investigate officer involved shootings now. Smart move by MBI but it's going to suck for JPD and people who live or work in Jackson.
Can someone please expand on why black leadership feels it's ok to change the rules or regulations in place and not suffer consequences. This is a great example. Wanting to create policy that's existing. Anther example is the FH high school band director. On the news as if he's owed something claiming the fact he knew nothing of the officers death means nothing in terms of responsibility. Wasn't that check bouncing Othor Cain interviewing him grinning head nodding as if all people have the same opinion of this situation. They are simply use to getting the race card pull out of trouble act. It's over I'm afraid. Well, except for feel dumb a$$ Bryant. He's the biggest turncoat in the state.
The Most Radical City on the Planet!
Nice move Baby Chocke. Moron.
It doesn't get much funnier than for Mayor Yammeralot to complain about MBI's "political" decision which was, as you know he'd never mention, in response to his own purely political decision.
Bravo to the MBI. Best not to work with a lawless, anti-cop, radical/crypto Marxist regime.
If Mayor Yammeralot's policy change was politically motivated, can you explain what political advantage he thought would result?

What political benefit is it to Kenneth Stokes to encourage his constituents to throw bricks at police cars from other jurisdictions?
Obviously, it's what he thinks his people want to hear. Same for the mayor of New Afrika/Kush.
Hasta la vista, Marshall!
@ 6:33AM Kenneth Stokes said he will do all investigations. Ha! Ha!..Throw Rocks Sticks & Stones at other police departments when they enter Jackson. What blows my mind is how these fools get elected by the Jackson public ?????????????
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

If it really does blow your mind, you're no High Priest.
. What blows my mind is how these fools get elected by the Jackson public ?????????????
I've owned property in Ward 3 for over 30 years and have never voted for a Stokes. Never been able to find anyone who would admit they ever voted for a Stokes.
But they do.
Jackson is becoming a hostile environment for everyone, including police officers, except criminals and radicals. You can’t call it white flight when the black, middle and upper classes are fleeing, as well. We have gotten several, new, black neighbors. Their houses are in the 500k range. Baby Chok is going to get a rude awakening, once he finishes running all the taxpayers out of Jackson. How will the Bold New Radical City prosper with only criminals, people too poor to move, black panther wannabes, a few dedicated, pathologically optimistic liberals and Donna Ladd?
Unbelievable...I find it rather scary that a large percentage of "voters" in Jackson think that things are just fine and dandy. Over & Out.
If the phone doesn't ring, its me.
Baby Chok can isolate himself from a lot of state resources if he keeps working at it.
This is a momentous step in the people of Jackson’s struggle to free themselves from the oppressive capitalist system that murders and enslaves black men and women in a corrupt judicial and penal system designed solely to maintain its hierarchy of oppression. Goodbye MBI, the investigative arm of the fascist state. Justice will be served when police have to answer to the people. The boot of the state is off the throat of the people of Jackson and it is time to speak the truth.
Eventually, a civilian accountability board (appointed by the mayor) will wind up investigating all of the OIS in Jackson - I think we all have a pretty good idea how this will wind up...
There is only one way to deal with Jackson and that is to move out ASAP. Most saw this coming many many years ago and left. Yes, is really too late and you may get pennies on the dollar for your house but next year will be worse. There will not be a take over of Jackson by the State for it will be burned to the ground first. What is your life worth?
Why shouldn't officers' names be released if they shoot someone? My name would be released if I shot someone. And your name.
Chokwe Antar's Statement on the Attempted Assassination of Venezuelan President Maduro
"I am deeply shocked and concerned by the August 4 assassination attempt on President Nicholas Maduro of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This hostile and vile act should be condemned by all desiring democracy, peaceful resolution of conflict, and self-determination of nations. We are thankful that such an act of terrorism was not successful. My Administration and I express our solidarity and prayers with the Venezuelan people and President Maduro."
Chokwe Antar Lumumba
Mayor, Jackson Mississippi
"Why shouldn't officers' names be released if they shoot someone?"
In days of yore they were... because societies supported them fully. Few were stupid enough to threaten or carry out any vendetta.
No one could have ever dreamed that one day a "society" would be 180 degrees to LEO. (Probably a better word than society to use here.)
Who does Lamumbles think he is...issuing a statement on the attempt on Maduro's life - what an ego this guy has. Here's a clue dumbass (that means you Lumumba) Venezuela is not a democracy, it is a totalitarian regime, so how about this...FIX THE FUCKING POTHOLES and PUT THE CRIMINALS IN JAIL IN JACKSON and quit worrying about shit that has nothing to do with you, nobody cares what you have to say about this! If Lumumba is in solidarity with a totalitarian like Maduro, I guess we can see where Jackson may be headed - good luck to y'all.
It is important to remember that at the heart of the mayor's vision of a radical new city is the concept of self-governance. The police represent an occupying force of oppression in the new city. They are therefore destined to be tightly controlled and under the utmost scrutiny. Not trusted. The reality that most of the police come from the same community will not matter. MBI, the FBI, and all the rest are not welcome anyway, so their rebuff is expected and probably welcomed. The young mayor will find out the hard way that his brand of radicalism sounds good in the classroom and on paper, but his constituents weren't in class and don't read those papers.
@ 9:04 AM - It was Rocks, Bricks and Bottles. Not once did "sticks and stones" come out of Stokes mouth.
Rocks, Bricks and Bottles
In time the city of Jackson will eat itself. Then what?
1045... you’re joking right?... it’s satire right? Otherwise you are definitely part of the problem...

Why would anyone else's name be released if you shot someone?
Seriously, I think the circumstances of the situation would dictate the release of any civilian names, shooter or shootee. For example, if someone shot a person who was raping them, or defending themselves from gang violence, the shooter's name would not be released or published due to the situation. That it would be any different for a police officer, i.e., situationally-dependent, makes no sense to me.
Obviously then, I agree with those who think it is a terrible idea to release the names of officers based on an arbitrary 72-hour "timetable," but at the end of the day, it is the officers' opinion(s) that will matter. I don't think it will be a very good retention or recruiting tool and Jackson plainly needs every competent police officer it can possibly get, so anything that inhibits that would a bad thing.
Actually, the police do not release the names of homeowners who shoot burglars.
1158... the logic that equates murders to officers involved in shootings is flawed inherently. You clearly assume that police officers set out to kill someone. This is just not the case, regardless of what your liberal separatist leaders tell you.
Build the wall!! (The one that parallels County Line Road)
When all the police are gone as Antar and BLM seem to want, who will enforce the law ? Will they just shift immediately to anarchy ? As I've said for some time the state will forced at some time to take this disaster over.
@ 4:06,
Don't build a wall... many of the sports medicine physicians that drive to Madison live in Fondren and NE Jackson. Also, the owners of CSpire also live in NE Jackson along with several others. My neighbor is a dentist in Madison and drives there is he expected to move his office. Let's get serious. Madison county is a middle income 2 household working parent community with free wonderful public schools and that's what it is I am not downing it as I find it a great place. My ex wife lives there and loves it. But, let's look at the situation and not be stupid.
@5:41
Why you people continue to think anything within the city limits of a hell hole like Jackson has a bright future is amazingly naive AND FWIW your incessant freaking "name dropping" about who lives on your little island in the middle of a cesspool impresses no one.
@5:41 AM - Commuters would be able to cross the line, so don't pen stupid.
Who wouldn't be allowed to cross the line? How can you tell commuters from non commuters? Alot of Jackson kids attend st Andrews school located in Ridgeland. Probably at least half of my son's class are Jackson kids. So what gives?
5:41 - You forgot to mention that all the physicians that work at Sports Medicine on Fortification live in and drive from Madison County. And if you think 'Madison County is a two income working household middle income community', you're batshit crazy. And nobody cares that your neighbor is a dentist with a Harley and a ski-boat. So there.
The citizens of Jackson are celebrating. It mean lower numbers of LEO on the street and less chance of being caught breaking the laws.
4:15,
Your obviously not familiar with many of the sports medicine physicians as some of them live in belhaven. One headed up art for the park and several live in Fondren of course eastover and the 2 in CC of Jackson. He's at the flowood clinic for sorts medicine. Don't be so quick to correct when your not well informed on the situation. It males you look dumb.
