Brandon PD seize 143 lbs of meth

The Brandon Police Department issued the following press release.

On April 25, 2017, around 2:30 PM, a Detective with the Brandon Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 20 with a Ford Explorer towing a Chevrolet Tahoe.

During the traffic stop, the Detective found inconsistencies while talking with the occupants of the vehicle, and called for the assistance of a Rankin County Sheriff Department Narcotics K-9 unit. Upon arrival, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department’s K9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the possible presence of narcotics.

Deputies and the Detective searched the Tahoe and found 143 pounds / 26 gallons of liquid meth stored in the vehicle’s fuel tank.

The two occupants Victor Velaquez from College Park, GA, and Carlos Prouse from Socorro, TX, were charged with Trafficking of a Controlled Substance. Both are currently being held in the Rankin County Jail on with a $500,000 bond. Their initial appearance will be in Brandon Municipal Court Friday April 27, 2018.

We would like to thank the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in this matter.

Valesquez

Kingfish note: But, but, but, Dr. Randy Easterling and Marshall Fisher said meth is not a problem since sudafed was put behind the counter.

More DACA success stories.

Day-um! A gas tank full of liquid crystal meth. A really "smart and safe" way to store and transport it. Wonder what would have happened if someone had tried to crank up the Tahoe?

Judging by the gentlemen in the article and photos, the meth was not manufactured in our state. This is, though, a novel approach to transporting drugs. Who would ever think two Mexicans towing an old disabled vehicle with Texas tag along the interstate would be suspicious.

It's noteworthy, though, that the Ford was towing the Chevy instead of the other way around. Now THAT would have raised some red flags!

Somebody needs to clue the Brandon PD in on the process - they aren't supposed to stop those dealers who still have the product in their vehicles, they are supposed to catch them going the other direction with the cash. DA Guest can't use the raw product to fund Rankin County SO - gotta take that cash in a civil asset forfeiture process. Hell, he might even have to prosecute these perps, since they were caught with the product. Those with cash can get on out of town, as long as they leave the assets.

Same thing will happen with opoid restrictions. More business for Mexican drug cartels. Meth used to be made by rednecks in cheap motels and trailers. Now, it’s mostly cartel business. Get ready for more opoid deaths because that fentanyl laced heroin is a lot more deadly that Vicodin. Good work getting it off streets, Brandon, at any rate.

It probably went all wrong when one suspect said they were towing the Chevy with the Ford, while the other suspect said they were pushing the Ford with the Chevy. Reeeeeegardless, they should have used a Dodge somewhere in their scheme.

"We the men and women of the Propane and Propane Accessory industry do not condone this type of criminal behavior."

The arrested better watch out for Jack and his gang. Mr. White doesn't take chances with flips.

Meanwhile, the dentistry lobby demands that these seizures stop!

Truth be known they are catching only 1% of the drug flow from Mexico. Build the wall.
The tidal wave of illegal immigrants is the biggest threat to the U.S.. Democrats feels they will vote for them in a election (yes illegals do vote). So, it really critical to vote republican until they become a super majority. Even with this the courts will stop any attempt to stem the flow.

Wonder how many of these mules take a sudden detour over around mile marker 35 and detour 'round thru Bolton, the Congressman's home town? Gotta dump this stuff somewhere.

how fitting that they were stopped in rankin county....... the methhead capitol of the world.

to 3:44pm...... wow studmuffin, you seem to know alot about voter fraud , drug trafficking , and judicial rulings. tell me, have you turned over all your vast knowledge to the trump administration?? if you are that smart maybe trump should make you THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

So - this weekend's party is cancelled now, right?

Ah - DACA Dreamers - just doing the jobs American drug dealers won't do :-)

April 26 @9:46 PM,

to 7:50 am........tell me , what evidence or facts does 3:44 pm cite other than his wannabe badass opinions? pretty wild allegations, but i should expect that from a far right wack job.

So which is it?
A) Brandon PD and the RCSO are the only LE agency in the state that knows the secret to finding drug traffickers on the I-10 or I-20 corridors.
B) They have formed a relationship with rival traffickers who are tipping them off to competitive shipments.
C) Their protocol is to perform profile stops on any Latino, anyone with Latino features, any tan person with black hair, anyone drinking Fanta, anyone with a soccer ball, people with tattoos, people without tattoos

D) Black Asphalt and Desert Snow

10:25 ...Victor got a million dollars of cash. That’s way better than a billion dollars worth of stuff you have to destroy.

10:25

You seem nervous.

This was probably just the bait car. A few tons probably rolled right through.

Actually 10:25, it's D). The Feds periodically give the local popo a tip as to when and what will be coming thru. They've already bird-dogged them further up the road. Fact. I was part of the task force years ago.

I find it so peculiar how Rankin S.O. always knows who to bust with dope?

Something doesn't pass the smell test

There are some crooked shenanigans going on

Anonymous said...

I agree with 2:59 PM this is quite odd

Anonymous said...

Hey 2:59 and 5:36! Have either of you ever worked in law enforcement? No? Well maybe that is why you don’t know about confidential informants or interdepartmental intelligence sharing. Getting these dangerous substances off the street should be a priority for anyone who wants to keep our communities safe.

Can't wait for some liberal federal judge to bust our LEOs for profiling drivers on I-20 and make these stops illegal. just wait, Pollyanna....it will happen.

to 8:12... you dont know much about the federal judges here in the southern district of ms , do you?.......there is nothing liberal about them

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
