And Tate fires back at Hood.....

Leftenent Governor Tate Reeves issued the following response to Jim Hood's criticism of the legislature.

“In three short paragraphs, Jim Hood managed to offer his support for raising gas taxes, raising Internet taxes, raising sales taxes, and raising income taxes for every Mississippian,” said Laura Hipp, spokeswoman for Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves. “Hood also evidently supports sole-source no-bid contracts.  That’s just not right, even for Jim Hood’s ‘friends.’

“Hood’s support of Obamacare expansion is the one policy that could hamper Republicans successful fiscal policy of balanced budgets, larger rainy day fund, and less debt for our taxpayers.

“While the Attorney General continues to take millions from his trial lawyer friends and then spends it for personal expenses, the Lieutenant Governor has been universally praised for leading the charge for transparency and passing comprehensive campaign finance reform.

“Maybe the Attorney General should spend less time in Houston criticizing our conservative policies and more time focused on defending Mississippi’s recently passed law making us the safest place in America for an unborn child.”

Mississippi: a great place to be a child, until you’re born.

Taxes pay for your roads, school, bridges and your gop welfare recipients groceries, etc...if you stop letting all the Political Cronies feed at the trough perhaps Americans can see the benefit of taxes, and what about the kids that are born, seems that once they are born they aren't relevant any more to the crooked corrupt GOPedo establishment.

Obamacare, trying to take your guns, Nancy Pelosi, no family value, common core, and God bless my campaign fund. Than you tater tot

"Taxes for the common good are a bad thing," says the man who lives in a gated community. Taters got his, the rest of us are on our own.

Tate continues to show how out of touch he is with what needs to be done to change the socio economic course of the state. Trickle down doesn’t work in an economically depressed state like ours. Where is the influx of people and businesses that were to locate here because of the corporate tax cuts? The Lt Guv is a panderer to the highest degree, and he knows better. He continues of long line of weak leaders we’ve endured over our 200 years as a state. Reckoning coming for Tate in 11/2019.

I've been voting for Republicans all the way back since Wendell Willkie but not this time, no, no, no, no, I'm voting for Jim Hood this time.

The tide has turned Tate.....the scare tactics don’t work especially when your leader is a morally bankrupt heathen nobody can stand to be around.

Tort reform? Med mal prices higher than ever.

Cut taxes? Citizens maligned in potholes and falling off bridges while teachers make nothing.

Keep up the one liners....maybe you can write a book when you are done.

Two career politicians blabbing at each other. Nothing worth paying attention to.

Long time republican here. Will not be voting for Tater for Governor.

I wouldn’t vote for Tate Reeves for head tater counter. He is a narcissist. North Korea has nothing over the MS Senate. There’s probably one senator who would vote for him-Terry Burton. Ha. Dumb and dumber-MS style. Ole Hipp can keep writing her snappy press releases. Try all you can to craft a message. We still aren’t voting for Kim Jung Reeves. Sorry. Not sorry.

I've been voting Republican since 1961 but I will vote for Espy for Senator and Hood for Governor.

Republicans along the African Americans have taken this State to the number 50 position while the working class continue to go down and down. My business is worth about 10% of what is was worth in 2007.

My friends in other States who are in the same business are growing at a rate of approximately 20% a year---WOW !!!!!!! SHIT !!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!!! HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F..K!!!!!!!!!! That's all I got.

I think of Tater every single time I hit a pothole. Do nothing lt governor, do nothing legislature. Unless you’re ‘job creator’ and then it’s a buffet of giveaways on my dime. Not this time Tate. I’m not fooled. I’m warming up to mullet haircuts too.

If I was ever wavering, his idiocy on allowing a vote by the Senate on CIDs sealed it for me. I live in Belhaven, and don't know how I will vote, should it ever pass, but that ABSOLUTELY arrogant SOB once again bullied his way to kill it. Does he even have a staff that lets him do such stupid things? If they are advising him this way, he needs to adjust.

Tater fiddles while Mississippi burns.

People complain Feel is an empty suit, yet are going to give Tater Tot a shot at the job. If there has ever been an empty suit it is TaterTot. This life-long republican will vote Hood before voting for Reeves.

4:05 pm The Shakespearean lines you quoted were given by characters planning anarchy.

Even in Shakespeare's time, it was understood that the rule of law is the only thing that stands between humans and chaos.

And the idiot Reeves got a bill passed negating auto inspection stickers, allowing dangerous vehicles on the road and hurting businesses all over the state making needed repairs to same. Actually brags about it. He should have made inspection stations and stickers like Tennessee. To get a sticker allowing one to use a certain vehicle, at state sponsored stations yearly, you must prove you have insurance, prove you own the vehicle, prove it meets EPA standards, and then the usual stuff we use to require (horn, turn signals, brake lights, etc etc)

KF, impressive reader base you have. 99 year old (or older) that can handle commenting on your site at 3:47. Voted for Wilkie and now, 78 years later is going to quit voting for Republicans. I thought my record of first supporting Ruben was goid - but since that was in the 60's I haven't decided to change. No way would I support Hood and his corrupt regiem. And will proudly stay with Tater.

By the way, if he did solely and only on his own accord kill the CID, stopping my HOA from being able to raise my taxes even higher while my SS remains mired at a 1% growth, then that's a double down reason I will be glad to support him in 2019.

Educate yourself 10:00 AM. Google Community Improvement districts and WOW you will find property values increase much more that the $200 to $300 a year you will be assessed. and last time I checked we have separation of powers for a reason. We have committees and floor debates for a reason. We have 2 houses of government for a reason.

Most importantly Mississippi is last L.A.S.T. in all things good for a reason, that being shortsighted, self centered, pandering "leaders" like Tate Reeves.

Finally, 12.23 explains the theory behind CIDs....

If we would just raise our taxes by 6 more mills in Jackson, then our property values would increase substantially!

Never mind that I pay 4 times what my friends in Madison and Flowood pay...

If that mean 'ol Tate Reeves would just let the rich liberals get 6 more mills of my money (because, after all, they know better how to spend it than I do)....then I can get rich too because of soaring property values!

NO THANK YOU to that BS!!

Keep piling on. Meanwhile, I live in Jackson and love it here.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
