I know Mark and I can't believe he could have been involved in this. He is active in the Chris McDaniel campaign and the Tea Party, but is:

Mark Mayfield is a is a distinguished member of the Madison County Republican Executive Committee and his wife Robin on the Board of the Madison County Republican Women's group. Mark is a Fraternity Brother and very close friend of MSGOP Chairman Joe Nosef and was named Repubican of the Year by Nosef for Madison County a few years ago. I do not believe that Mark would be involved in doing anything illegal. His brother in law Former State Senator John Reeves will get to the bottom of this. This is what happens when you try to go against a U. S. Senator. Mark will be cleared.

According to local news reports Mark Mayfield has been arrested in Madison County and charged with conspiracy. Authorities are apparently relating this to the Clayton Kelly case. When more details are known, the Central MS Tea Party will release a statement to the press.

Mayfield doesn't belong to a "firm". He is a sole attorney doing primarily real estate related transactions for a large bank in town, i.e., foreclosures, etc.

He was formerly with his father in practice, but his father passed away several years ago. His mother passed away in March, while living at St Catherine's.
