Yep, full on swat team from madison at our offices in Riverhill Tower. Sheriff was here too. He has retained Buddy.

Has a son that lives in DC... This may put him in with Cochran's camp.

Please elaborate. I am a little shocked that Mark has been involved. Pls keep us posted. Actually I thought Mark was smarter than getting involved with this trash.

Looks like Mr. Mayfield donated $300 to the Senate Conservatives Fund that supports THAD COCHRAN!!!!!!!!

I believe the Cochran campaign headquarters is right there by his office. They probably enjoyed the view today.

Madison County is SO on top of policing the nursing homes. Such disinterested justice!

I know Mark and I can't believe he could have been involved in this. He is active in the Chris McDaniel campaign and the Tea Party, but is:
a) Not crazy
b) A lawyer and savvy enough to not cross any legal lines
c) Ethical and just a nice guy, so not likely to do anything like this.

IF this all is dropped in 2 weeks I hope media outlets report it so he can get his reputation back.

Anonymous said...

To call that guy a McDaniel supporter is an understatement. His car is littered with bumper stickers and actual campaign signs inside the windshield.

The President of the Central Mississippi Tea Party ??? Arrested??? Could it be possible that he originated the information on Thad's wife and conned some poor blogger wannabe into posting it?? Could the blogger be spilling his guts trying to save himself??? Say it ain't so Joe !! Call Harry Reid - It must be the Koch brothers behind this!!

Anonymous said...

I have a feeling the SWAT reference was a bit of a stretch.

12:21. Now you know why the bond is $100k

Anonymous said...

Well that escalated quickly.

Anonymous said...

Hmmmm....Mayfield...represents a large local bank in the foreclosure area! Think there could be anything deeper?

Anonymous said...

What would the bank or the real estate have to do with any of this?

Free roll of tinfoil for the first one to connect Constitutional Clayton to either Bernie Madoff or Enron!

Free case of tinfoil if you can connect these folks to Banco Ambrosiano !!

This guy’s contributions won’t help either side. This person gave $500, $500, and $1,000 to Republican National Committee (Haley was chairman, Henry is Committeeman); $250, $250 to Phil Bryant and $1,000, $250, and $200 to Romney.

Mark Mayfield is a is a distinguished member of the Madison County Republican Executive Committee and his wife Robin on the Board of the Madison County Republican Women's group. Mark is a Fraternity Brother and very close friend of MSGOP Chairman Joe Nosef and was named Repubican of the Year by Nosef for Madison County a few years ago. I do not believe that Mark would be involved in doing anything illegal. His brother in law Former State Senator John Reeves will get to the bottom of this. This is what happens when you try to go against a U. S. Senator. Mark will be cleared.

So, it's a coincidence his Mom was at St Catherine's, too?

Anonymous said...

Mark Mayfield is too nice a guy to ever do this kind of thing. I smell something fishy and would bet that the Cochran campaign is getting desperate. With two weeks to go, this appears to be a setup, and probably the day after the election, all charges will be dismissed.

Republican's eating their own.

Anonymous said...

Reeves is a buffoon outside no-fault divorces. Buddy Coxwell will carry the water in this case.

Grain of Salt said...

Of course it's a "coincidence," 1:26, you numbskull. Many people have parents out there at SC, as well---are they all implicated, too?

We are friendly with the Mayfields. If there is one thing Mark is not, it's stupid, and only a stupid person would risk his reputation and professional life for such a pointless shenanigan.

He will be cleared, I feel certain, but the stain of accusation will remain. Why does the press (and sites like this)rush to make rumors public?

Anonymous said...

Uh, since when did Jim DeMint's Senate Conserviative Fund switch from supporting and funding commericals for McDaniel to supporting Cochran? I know Mark and have always thought he was a voice of reason among the Tea Party wackos. I hope it is found that he isn't involved.

Anonymous said...

His first mistake was marrying someone related to John Reeves. Bigger mistake is to let Reeves represent him.

Anonymous said...

You got that right on Reeves. Buddy is his actual attorney. Reeves probably just ask if he could join to get his name in the paper. Mayfield took all of the stickers and window shield off his car a few days ago, btw. There are no stickers on it today--he knew this was coming.

Maybe Mayor Mary should reconsider telling everybody she meets that John Reeves is her chosen candidate for the new House seat. (This won't be the last time Reeves embarrasses her and Madison.)

Anonymous said...

I love this site. Everyone is always guilty... until you know someone. And then it's all about 'how can you jump to conclusions' and 'they're so smart, they'd never do this'.

Where are the prison rape jokes now? I hope this serves as a reminder to those of you that read gossip on this blog and others... it's pretty hurtful to those involved when you make nasty comments and feed off of the downfall of others.

Anonymous said...

Well hell, if he was a fraternity brother then he must be as good as gold.

Anonymous said...

@1:38 - How is this spreading "rumors", when the guy was arrested and brought to court?

Anonymous said...

2:21-you want a prison joke? just wait till prisoners hear about how he got someone to take a photo of a lady with dementia. some of the prisoners' mamas have it too--no jokes needed

Anonymous said...

Attn 2:20 I may be missing something, but how has Reeves embarrassed Mayor Mary in this situation?

Anonymous said...

1:38
Pretty sure that an arrest and a hearing reported by multiple sources doesn't constitute a "rumor." Good try though, Mark.

Anonymous said...

The pot gets thicker and the web gets wider. One can only wonder if the axe is going to fall a few more times with this conspiracy. One can only wonder if McDaniel is going to deny knowing Mayfield and/or Sager like he did with Kelly.
Could a plausible explanation for possibly denying that he knew two of the arrested individuals is that McDaniel has an identical twin whose photo was taken with them?

Pugnacious said...

Didn't Merrida Coxwell represent DeLay at that triple jeopardy trial in Judge Hilburn's kangaroo court?

Anonymous said...

Say what you want about the people allegedly involved, but there is no need to talk about his family members when you have no ground for what your are saying about them.

Anonymous said...

so, is Judge Danks recusing himself? He and Coxwell used to practice law together.

Anonymous said...

Guys, nice armchair quarterbacking on the SWAT team or whatever it was. In law enforcement, it's always better to bring too much than not enough. If someone had broken through the line because the police didn't have enough personnel/firepower there, you'd be griping about that. Sheesh, everybody's an expert all of a sudden.

Anonymous said...

Anything this guy did is petty compared to the $20 million+ the Frazier/Copeland clan scammed from folks in the state...no comparison here

MKULTRA said...

This is why we had to expand operations into the Madison Watertower yesterday. Thad wanted us to start having the Madion P.D. round up people for no cause and be able to send orders via radio waves to Dale Danks implant. I can understand Mayfield having a big money lawyer but the others remind me of the mafia hiring lawyers to get there boys out. We will be at work again tonight.

Anonymous said...

I thought it a bit ironic that there was a tea party commercial on the radio which claimed their moral superiority. In light of these arrest I think the tea party should take the commercial down.

Punchin' Judy said...

Has anyone actually laid eyes on John Bell Crosby lately? See? I thought not! There's a county owned back-hoe parked behind his house and it's recently been repainted. Madison PD will soon find more bodies in the woods.

Critical News Alerty
Regarding CMTP Board Member Mark Mayfield

According to local news reports Mark Mayfield has been arrested in Madison County and charged with conspiracy. Authorities are apparently relating this to the Clayton Kelly case. When more details are known, the Central MS Tea Party will release a statement to the press.

In the meantime, as loyal Patriots you should:
Refrain from discussing this case with others, do not post comments on social media, and make absolutely no statements to the news media.
If you are contacted by the news media, refer them to our CMTP President Janis Lane who is handling all media inquiries.
Pray, pray, pray for Mark, for his sweet wife Robin and for their family. Those who know Mark personally know that he is a very tender-hearted man and one who avoids controversy. He has served our Board and our Patriots faithfully and with distinction for many years. He deserves our prayerful support.

It's been a bad month for people named Mayfield in the Jackson area...

Anonymous said...

Mayfield's clients will be scattering. His career is over.

Anonymous said...

Please please please arrest Senator Melanie Sojourner! She knew about it and could have stopped it. Why do you think she is not commenting?

Anonymous said...

The guy just lost all of his clients. Wonder what his partners are thinking - knowing certain of their clients will leave as well? His part of the firm overhead contribution is now zero.

Anonymous said...

I'm betting the "Big Man" Kelly was referring to was Mayfield.

Anonymous said...

Can you imagine the partner meetings going on right now in that guy's law firm? Talk about damage control.

Anonymous said...

Mayfield doesn't belong to a "firm". He is a sole attorney doing primarily real estate related transactions for a large bank in town, i.e., foreclosures, etc.

He was formerly with his father in practice, but his father passed away several years ago. His mother passed away in March, while living at St Catherine's.

Anonymous said...

Hey idiots at 9:04 and 10:55--mark is a sole practitioner, and is wealthy independent of his (foreclosure) law practice.

Anonymous said...

@ May 22, 2014 at 8:30 PM
You are aware that all the campaigns knew about this and didn't say anything, right? Have you at least read any of the coverage?

Anonymous said...

Can anyone elaborate and educate on what these charges mean? Conspiracy to do what?

Anonymous said...

Thad's camp's policy on the other hand is to talk constantly about the case, spread any and all rumor as quickly as possible. Have no regard for our affect on the ongoing legal proceedings, we have an election to win!

And please pray that we defeat those budget balancing tea baggers.

8:54,

Conspiracy to unseat a long-time US Senator.

Lesson of the day: don't get on the wrong side of the machine.

Mayor Mary is pro Thad, and so is MPD. So is Davenport and super talk. And liberal Sam Hall and the Clarion Ledger (which is strange). Don't forget about Lange.

They are praying to link it all to Chris.

D.C. Politics.

Anonymous said...

I doubt he'll be doing any more work for that "large bank" in town. These antics obviously show his judgment and professional bearing are lacking. In other words, what a knucklehead.

Anonymous said...

How much good will all that independent wealth do him in Parchman?

Anonymous said...

This joker has been charged with a FELONY count. There's no way institutions who are regulated by the Federal government can use him. Practice gone. He's now limited to ambulance-chasing if he's cleared.

Anonymous said...

The "Tea Party" is made up of a bunch of NUTS!!!

Anonymous said...

A sophisticated attorney getting himself caught in the middle of this is HILARIOUS.

Anonymous said...

The Republican Party is it's own worst enemy. Not to even mention the Tea Party. McDaniel and his campaign are a joke.

Anonymous said...

for a crime that did not have real damages to aging Rose, stuck in a nursing home over a decade the bail amounts seem very high, do not see these guys making a run for it. makes me think like 8:54, cross the machine and even jaywalking can be a big deal.

Anonymous said...

Can you imagine what Mayfield's family, friends and neighbors think? His fellow attorneys will have to steer clear of ANY contact with this dude. There HAS to be more to the story.

Anonymous said...

Mayfield knew the layout of St Catherine's and had a visitor's pass from when his Mom was there. He gave all the info to Kelly.

Anonymous said...

I wonder how many times Mayfield's wife has asked "Why?" since yesterday?

Corderin' His Lange said...

Hey. Maybe Alan Lange can print out all of his "Gallo" analyses from this humongous (read HUGE) conspiracy, these blog posts and comments, and other stuff from his "archive" for another coffee table book.

Then he can travel to every smalltown, Mississippi social club function -- you know, the sort where they don't scrutinize a meager C.V. -- and pretend that he is some learned, published, and seasoned political expert.

Look In The Mirror said...

I wonder how many times Mayfield's wife has asked "Why?" since yesterday?

Versus why your wife has asked "Why?" since a week after your marriage?

Let's get real here Sparky. We all know what your wife has found lacking. If you need to take this the next step then by all means your shortcomings (wink, wink) are big time fair game.

Anonymous said...

What is a "meager C.V."?

Anonymous said...

Any more information on what's going on with Mark Mayfield? This is still so hard to believe.

Anonymous said...

Just heard this little man now voted for Cochran in order to save his ass supposedly. So to heck what Mayfield believed in....He threw it all out...His support and campaigning for McDaniel. ..to save his neck. Gee this guy really stands up for what he believes huh? Not..!!! He is a little. ..nervous..man and a coward... Pathetic. How does he look at himself in the mirror? At least he could have stood by his convictions and voted for his original guy...Chris Mcdaniel.

Who is the Hottest Reporter in Jackson?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
