Citizens United just lost all credibility.
Color me skeptical, but one result of all this coverage may be potential voters going, Oh, there's someone running against Cochran?
I have not read the Supreme Court case, but I assume that this is not a left-of-center organization, or even center-of-center, but is of the way-over-right persuasion. So far from the center as to be delusional.
A lot of Sen. Cochran's votes will come from Independents, and from Democrats who will support the much lesser evil.
I believe the Sojourner incident just changed those polling numbers.
credible polls show Cochran with a significant lead, almost 20%
McDaniel's campaign is floundering under inept chairwoman and communications director. If this is the best he can hire for a campaign, imagine what his staff would look like in dc.
credible polls show Cochran with a significant lead, almost 20%
Like the poll the NRSC said was credible which showed Thad comfortably ahead? You know, the one where almost 60% of those polled were 66 years of age or older? Like that poll?
What isn't credible is your comment.
I received a call from this "poll". It is nothing but a 'push poll' where the questions are loaded to provide a desired, almost automatic result.
If this was a credible poll, they would release the crosstabs, demos, and the questions. Since it is by an organization in the tank for McDaniel, and the poll asked questions almost as bad as "if you knew that Cochran was a babyraper, would you vote for him or the highly respected, intelligent McDaniel?"
Color this poll worthless except for the purposes which McDaniel is using it.
"A lot of Sen. Cochran's votes will come from Independents, and from Democrats who will support the much lesser evil."
Any smart Democrats (I know, oxymoron) will be voting McDaniel in the primary.
"You know, the one where almost 60% of those polled were 66 years of age or older?"
66 or older - oh, you mean the age group MOST LIKELY TO TURN OUT IN A NON-PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION?
Guess what Chester - 2014 is not a presidential election year.
Sucks to be you, don't it?
Our biased assuming poll that cherry picked numbers in which to call found that ".............Fill in blank............".
Other demographics need not apply for they are NOT of our political persuasion.

The truth of the matter :-)
Do some of you actually believe enough people read these blogs to actually move the needle in a poll or an election? Only three in ten registered voters will go to the polls (and that's a high estimate) but only one in 20 who go to the polls will ever have heard of this crap with St. Catherine's.
Do some of you actually believe enough people read these blogs to actually move the needle in a poll or an election?
Do you believe you personally possess a superior intellect versus the rest of the readers of JJ?
Not familiar with this poll - never heard of it ....
The polling I watch is Real Clear Politics -
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/senate/#
It currently shows Chocran ahead by 17 points ......
Relax people, they're going to have the primary just in case the poll isn't correct.
As to <66 demographic not showing at the polls. Many 20 & 30 something's I know will be showing up in June. We don't really appreciate getting stuck with your health bills when you control 65% of the wealth.
McDaniel's got this thing wrapped up....assuming he can keep all minorities, people over the age of 50, those with a high school diploma and most women away from the polls. Otherwise, those Jesus in schools-they takin mah gun-ain't payin no mo' taxes group got this in the bank.
8:08 is right. Some of us are sick and tired of taking care of old people. They need to start pulling their own weight.
You know what they say about damn lies and statistics, but here's the thing:
It's plain that Cochran's puppeteers and beneficiaries are VERY concerned. They are pulling out all the stops. I haven't seen this much of Haley Barbour since Katrina!
I'm sure Trent Lott will resurface shortly. Trent's the only good ol' boy from The Establishment who isn't working crowds on Cochran's behalf now...
except Cochran himself.
Here comes that ED problem again Alan.
6:50 axed: "Do you believe you personally possess a superior intellect versus the rest of the readers of JJ?"
Not really. But, what's that got to do with the fact that a blog is a fart in a whirlwind when it comes to pushing the needle in an election representing half the state. You got a point to make, make it.
Wow, a decent piece of journalism from the CL. Amazing.
It's actually the most plausible version of events I've heard. Only a nutjob or a dumb 20-something wanna-be would pull a stunt like this without realizing how badly it could backfire and how easily he could be caught.
I don't have many nice things to say about either campaign, but I do believe they are both smart enough to steer clear of something that low.
But, what's that got to do with the fact that a blog is a fart in a whirlwind when it comes to pushing the needle in an election representing half the state.
So, basically, you've got a woody going to straighten out the people here at the fart-in-a-whirlwind blog. Did you get a rush?
Ahh 10:51; That you, again, Kingfish? I know Gallo thinks his show actually 'molds people's lives' and that the program touches the most well educated and important slice of the Mississippi population, so it's only natural you would think the same.
I am waiting for the avalanche of "stories" from okra, anderson cooper, woffie blitzed, ellen degenerate and ed "my head is way big for my body" shultz on thad's longtime girlfriend. um, I bet if Rand Paul or ted cruz were in thad's predicament the aforesaid left wing loonies would be all over it.
I am a Democrat and I will be voting for McDaniel. I want the senate seat back and feel he gives us the best chance to get it.
I was polled. It was a joke.
It was almost " you wouldn't vote for Cochran, would you?"
twecrs1 , that is a very risky strategy in this state. I'd hate for us to end up with McDaniel who'll make us, yet again, the laughing stock of the nation.
6:28, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Damn, we should be honored that someone from 'the family' is posting. Good job, straight off the talking points. But you forgot to yell FIRE at the end. No bonus for you.
4:10 nailed it exactly. "A lot of Sen. Cochran's votes will come......from Democrats who will support the much lesser evil."
And what do Democrats consider evil? CONSERVATIVE. LESS GOVERNMENT. STOP OBAMACARE. STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING.
9:15, I was wondering if anyone else was thinking exactly what you said re Katrina.
What I find funny is all you idiots thinking either one of these candidates will do anything for the this state. As long as money is electing politicians you can forget them ever doing anything for their constituents. Special interest groups and lobbyist will determine how these men vote. Not the people. The reason they can smear on both sides is that there is plenty to smear about on both sides. Pick your poison people.
Remember Alan if you experience temporary blindness you need to stop taking the pills.
Democrats crossing to vote for McDaniel help Bill Marcy immeasurably.
