What a nightmare for everyone. There has to be profound consequences for people who drink and drive so that others get the message and control their own behavior, thereby saving other lives. No doubt, this high profile case got the attention of a lot of people.
I hope karen Irby will use her freedom in a positive way to try to influence people to not drink and drive.

Well 7:49 I don't consider it as a rant, I feel Karen was the victim of domestic abuse as well as well as the good boy judicial system of Hinds County , yes I empathize with the Doctors family ,but we all that are part of city circles now this was a witch hunt as well even after the victims family plead for leniency Tommie Green use her power to give this well know socialite a stiff sentence all due to the influence of hope for a Federal Judge seat. which brings back to mind how this type of behavior is carried out daily in Hinds County Judicial System , Ed Peters and Ross Barnett created this system and it stills run deep today, prime example is Judge Delaughter who was collateral damage of this HCJS , as for Karen I know she will help far more people out of jail rather than in jail thats the key

still cant believe Scott Spell was denied clemency over KI! sure cant believe murders were pardoned as well over his clemency request. Sentenced to 20 years and has served 2 1/2. he was given no DUI bc he ws not drunk.... she was and if rumors are true (and I hate to speculate bc people still , although proven in a court of law, still say scott was drunk, tried to flee to Mexico, and left the scene of accident)she had a prior DUI.. if this is not the case, i do apologize. I have spoken to Scott since all this has happened and being the kind humble man he is - is happy KI is home with her children , however, very confused as to why he is still there considering the FACTS of each case.

5:11- Not all women stay in Domestic violent relationships because they are stupid...or for the money...or for a lifestyle. Some are just very weak and scared.
I say weak, because a strong woman would not allow themselves to be abused. For whatever reason, some of these women assume they can't get better and they allow it to happen. A strong woman isn't going to allow herself to be abused. I know I wouldn't. I grew up in an extremely violent household...

The thing that bothers me the most about domestic violent relationships is the children. The children suffer WAY after the bruises heal. I still deal with it everyday of my life and it is something who has made me the person I am today. The intense hell I lived through happened over 20 years ago, but I still have dreams of the violence I witnessed growing up.
If a woman is being abused, alot of times she will not discuss it. They are extremely ashamed and 99% of the time assume they deserve it. But regardless of that, if you have children you owe it to THEM to get out.
Someone who is secure and happy with theirself does not allow abuse. For whatever reason, they end up putting up with it. And an abuser isn't going to choose a strong woman because of that. He chooses women who are weak and who he can manipulate and control. It is all about control.
It is a sad and dark, vicious cycle that 1 out of 4 women are in. No one deserves it.
Yes, people on the outside question why the woman stays...but on the inside it isn't quite that easy and most women don't even know why they stay.
If...and only if...she was abused, then chances are her next relationship will be just as unhealthy unless she gets help.
Putting the wreck and everything that happened that night aside, no one deserves to be abused- least of all the children. If the abuse did happen prior, hopefully now it will end for her.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Breaking news on this Tuesday night, Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green confirms to WLBT News that Jackson businessman Stuart M. Irby has been found dead inside his home.

Officer Green says it is believed Irby committed suicide.

WLBT is following this developing story and will have the latest on the WLBT 10:00pm Report and on WLBT.com.

WLBT and WAPT are just reporting Stuart Irby has been found dead in his home. Police think he killed himself.

I'm pretty sure it ended for KI tonight. SI has been found dead, or at least according to the scanner and WLBT. Bless his soul, he can take it up with the FSM now.

And the heartbreak for so many continues. My prayers for the family.

This is fact. I know because I spoke with the Lead Investigator for the victim's Attorney.

The victim's families met with Karen on numerous occasions. After meeting with her several times, both Doctor's families realized that she had a very contrite heart. They begged Judge Green to give her 2 years. Judge Green denied this.

After the denial, the families began to meet with Barbour to see what he might do. It was his decision to offer her clemency. She will still be supervised by DOC. She is still considered a Convicted Felon.

I can only hope that she will be able to reunite with her children and begin again with life.
