Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Police Department issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for two males suspected of being involved in a residential burglary in Madison County.
Law enforcement was advised that the suspects were last seen traveling into Rankin County on Spillway Road in a Dodge Caravan with blacked-out windows.
Rankin County Sheriff’s Deputies, Flowood Police Officers, Madison Police Officers and Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies immediately began saturating the area in an effort to locate the suspects and vehicle.
A Rankin County K-9 Deputy located the suspect vehicle on Old Fannin Road and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and attempted to evade the deputy. Additional law enforcement units quickly joined the pursuit as officers attempted to stop the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle fled into the Dogwood Festival area of Flowood, where it eventually stopped and the occupants fled on foot.
Officers immediately gave chase. Within a short period of time, all three suspects were taken into custody. One suspect was apprehended near the vehicle, another was captured while attempting to enter a business, and the third was taken into custody after entering a restaurant.
All three suspects were transported to the Rankin County Jail, where they were booked on felony fleeing charges. They were subsequently released to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to face burglary charges stemming from the Madison County investigation.
This incident is an excellent example of the importance of communication and cooperation among law enforcement agencies. From the initial BOLO to the apprehension of all three suspects, deputies and officers from multiple jurisdictions worked together to quickly locate the suspect vehicle, pursue the suspects and safely take them into custody.
I want to thank the men and women of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, Flowood Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Police Department for their quick response and outstanding cooperation.

@5:56 pm, nothing, there is nothing left to steal in Jackson. Thieves go where things worth stealing are located.
Theses guy look like they’re from Fondren
Not spoken in this report, but based on most every similar 'chase' over the past year or two, is the benefit given by those damned hated License Plate Reading Flock cameras.
Despite the many folks who claim they are an invasion of 'their privacy' and 'their' first amendment rights -- which they are not, and further they do not affect them at all if they are not doing anything unlawful -- this technology has provided the ability to apprehend perps like these and much worse, therefore protecting those who protest too much.
Thankful to live in this area! Good job to all the LEOs that protect us!
Man only a retard would try to outrun the cops in a mini van...
