Dow Yoder is back in jail.
He looks a little better than he did when arrested in March.
He was arrested for arson after someone torched the Yana Club. However, the Hinds County grand jury "no billed" Yoder. Earlier post
To think he was once a Justice Department prosecutor.
Yoder was once a Madison County Assistant District Attorney. He was terminated in 2014. He ran for Court of Appeals but lost in 2016. He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 2009 to 2011.
Yoder has had his share of problems over the last few years. The Laurel Leader-Call reported in July 2024:
George “Dow” Yoder III, 52, was found lying on the side of the road near Bogue Homa Lake when Deputy Andrew Yates of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday. A methamphetamine pipe was found in his pocket, and he was charged with possession of paraphernalia and for having a justice court warrant for his arrest. He made an appearance in Jones County Court on Wednesday and was ordered by Judge Wayne Thompson to serve five months in jail or get accepted into an inpatient drug-rehabilitation program. Rest of article.
Yoder was also arrested in 2021 for burglary. The outcome of the case is unknown. Yoder was linked to another fire in 2023.

Where is Laural, MS? Why was he out of jail?
This piece of shit was in cups in fondren talking about getting kicked out Fondren Public. Please somebody put this motherfucker out of his goddamn misery.
Dow please come back to Yana. We will love you until you can love yourself!
Most lawyers are ticking time bombs just beneath the surface barely holding on by a thread. Outlaw living is hard when you have a conscience. Hard to not lose your soul in the legal profession....if you ever had one, and it's an especially hard profession if you consider yourself a Christian.
Let me translate for y'all:
Laural = Laurel
Methodone = Methadone
Absolute avoidable shame.
Seems nice.
Mental illness is the bane of civilized society. It is the height or willful stupidity to ignore the reality that some people must be institutionalized.
Ya' know, I hate to speak or wish ill on another, but he never hesitated to make false claims about others in his "better" (as in sober) days. He was quite self righteous and quick to make uninformed judgement in spoken word and in writing. I will hope he comes through his problems and opens his eyes to the way he treated others.
Really? Hometown?
@3:40 would he even be allowed back?
Everybody at some point in their life gets humbled. Not everyone handles it with dignity and grace!
“like sands through the hour glass…”
Why didn’t his family get him help that he desperately needs? Maybe because he can’t make the money like he used to and they have no use for him.
His family needs to get him help and not let him live on the streets
I met dow back at camp kickappo hate this self destruction of this addict
Prayers for you, Dow. I knew you before your fall.
There are limits to what family can do. If the person doesn’t want or doesn’t accept help, there isn’t much that family can do. They can’t have the person involuntarily committed without a court order, which isn’t easy to obtain. It’s easy to blame the family when you don’t know the situation.
Capitol Police were called again on him recently when he invaded a CrossFit place and scared everyone
When the hell was this? If this guy gets ahold of a gun ……
I don't know him and don't doubt he's been an asshole since birth, but its sad to see what drugs can to do a person who had a decent life and a good career. Alcohol too, for that matter.
Addiction is so scary.
He desperately needs help. Where is his family?
That’s assuming the family even tried to help. Not all families try.
I WISH people would take mental illness more seriously He needs help and no one is helping him
Maybe they did. You cannot help someone that does not want help yet.
11:11, he’s yours, go bail him out and give him warm bath
Bunch of "know-it-alls" posting on here and none of them know shit about addiction and addicts. Only one person can cause an addict to get clean and that is the addict himself.
Amen.
Very true, but it’s get harder to have someone committed against his/her will…especially when there’s drugs involved.
When Dow was young, his Father committed suicide suddenly. Dow is doing it the slow way. The blame rests entirely on Dow and his Father. His poor wife and children did everything they could.
This is correct. Dow burned more bridges than Sherman. Dow Tecumsah Sherman-Yoder. His wife and kids did more to help and try to protect him than he deserves.
"The blame rests entirely on Dow and his Father."
How is the fault of a guy who was apparently dead well before the shit hit the fan? While it is certainly true that childhood events have an effect on people's lives long after childhood, this level of on-going continuous conduct is not the fault of anyone besides the person engaging in the conduct. It may be some form of mental illness that lessens his legal culpability, but that still does not make it his long-dead father's fault.
If you search the address on the mugshot on google maps you’ll see a house that’s unfinished. It appears nothing has been done to it in years.
