Exactly what I've posted regarding what was done in Alabama, vouchers for those who prefer to use their portion of tax monies to attend the school of their choice vs being stuck at a crap public school. What's the issue? It's their tax monies that pay for the public school, it's not meeting their needs, so their portion is redirected to a school of their choice to attend.
It's not "their" tax money but the collective tax money collected that funds all public services.
I like to read and rather than use the public library, I decide to buy my books from Amazon. That's my choice. I don't get to ask for a voucher from the taxes I paid to support my personal decision to buy books elsewhere.
No issues with private schools or homeschooling, but tax money shouldn't be used to pay for them.
Nah - too much common sense for Mississippi politicos.......
Why, they pay taxes for services that aren't delivering. You're conflating two very different things. Keep thinking like that and we'll stay behind Alabama, which is booming and this piece was passed bipartisan with a very conservative governor who also championed it. I lean conservative myself on many issues and the state of the school systems are deplorable. The state and cities should get out of the business of running schools, they can barely run a state.
