Henry Cooper, Jr. of Country Meat Packers fame posted the following message on Facebook after his truck was stolen:
$5000 dollar reward to the person who can give me info that leads to arrest on the individual in this picture who stole my truck and did over 7k damage to my electric gate he ran through at Country Meat Packers in Florence Miss at 1:45 am Saturday morning. This person could also be tied to the trucks stolen from Cliburn Tank Lines several months back. It is past time for our elected officials to get this crime problem first on the list it’s past time. Please text info to 601-594-7144 it is greatly appreciated.

Glad he had cameras. Hate this happened. Fantastic company.
Looks like John Wick, but then again I just saw the movie last night.
" It is past time for our elected officials to get this crime problem first on the list it’s past time."
What does he think they'll do about it? Laws against this type of theft and felony damage to property already exist. They sure as hell won't come out to patrol. LE can't afford to lose an officer or deputy to sit on just that property every day.
If he'll sign a waiver, the Rankin SO may let some deputys get some part time security work. I'm not sure what Sheriff Bailey's policy is but it is allowed at other agencies.
Elected officials? Exactly what could they have done to prevent this? Absolutely nothing. We have become so reliant on governments at all levels that we look to them to resolve every issue, and in this case, a complete deterioration of the moral fabric of our society.
Henry is a fine dude running a great company. Will give you the shirt off his back. All he wants to do is stay out of the fray and make products that many people throughout the state enjoy. He does not push agendas or seeks things that other folks taste with a bit of success. He needs help and someone knows about this mischief. Helps the cops nab this bastard!
I understand his very warranted frustration in general. But as others noted, I don't see this an 'elected official' issue and I agree that it is sad that the default is to now demand government assistance.
A small investment in trackers and geo fencing goes a long way.
Surprised the SO didn’t recognize the perp… they got a pretty good picture of him. He must be a meth head from out of town.
Perhaps Cooper's meaning was that the thief was likely a previously convicted criminal who was released too soon or too easily.
Suspect vehicle should be considered well loaded with butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits and cheese in pursuit of the Idaho Potato.
Money talks.
That guy looks dumb enough to turn himself in for the 5k !!
Are we to guess which truck was stolen? There are at least three makes/models of trucks in this photo. If the photo was taken after the theft, then we don't have a clue.
My suspicions are that keys are left in the ignition of all of them. If that's the case, suck it up cupcake.
Theory of the crime: Local methheads have a big pile of catalytic converters they need to cash in, so they borrow this truck to git-r-dun!
Where is the outrage about sorry cops, stupid government officials, or lazy thugs? Oh, I forgot this isn't about Jackson. So many double standards here.
My wife's Acura was taken by a thief who brazenly walked into her place of employment and slyly slipped her key ring from her desk into his pocket. Insurance paid in full quickly, we got another vehicle, signed the stolen one over to the insurance company.
Police found it with a fake tag in Louisiana 6 months later.
It's possible a coastal seafood distributor in MS or LA bought this air-conditioned truck for cheap from the thief.
Florence is the next Jackson. Water and garbage service next to go.
@11:12. Sounds like right out Gone in 60 seconds. How big is your wife's place of employment that no one saw or felt the guy taking her ring belonged there.
Glad you got a newby out of the experience.
@10:50am
You're clevwr to remind us about how demented Jackson's government and criminal class are. Not that one doesn't get daily reminders.
Time to put up a wall around Rankin and let the criminals take care of each other.
@11:16,
HA no, we wouldn't elect and re-elect folks in positions of influence who didn't have enough sense to keep our garbage and water going.
12:15...Rankin resident here.
We agree to your terms.
Please proceed with said wall.
10:07 for the win. Get's the head-clown award for today.
Where do you hide a truck that large, and then what do you do with it? Guess he had about 6 hours to get it hidden or out of state. Some deputy will recognize this guy do doubt. Hope the outcome will be posted.
Hmmm. Alternatively, let's consider an insurance scam.
2:58 here. OOPS, that was meant for the woman who reported her ring stolen.
A few years ago there was a business in Richland that had a large truck filled with products stolen out of their yard. A company in a northern state found the truck in his parking lot. He notified the man in Richland that owned the stolen truck and said he would hold it until they could come get it. The business owner in Richland sent two people up north to steal the truck back because he was afraid he would have to pay a storage fee for his truck.
That maybe why the truck is hard to find. Businesses in Mississippi are not known for thanking people who found their truck for them. They would rather steal it from them.

5:12 PM, I will give you a hint. The truck that was stolen was filled with new tires. The business the truck was stolen from has a son with the same type of business. The truck was found in a business that sells the same brand of things stolen along with the truck. The man thought he was helping return the truck to the business. The business where the truck was stolen thought the man might want a storage fee. He sent two of his workers up there to steal the truck instead of thanking the man for finding his truck for him.
