The Brandon Police Department issued the following statement.
Charles Lee Murphy, 33 from Gilbert, Louisiana is currently at UMMC under observation for a possible concussion after being evaluated by the Pearl Fire Dept. during the booking process. He will be taken back into custody and have an initial appearance in Pearl Municipal Court when UMMC police notify that he is released.

I can't help but think of the Dave Chappell Rick James/Charlie Murphy skit...
Also, you done f'ed up A-A-Ron.
Dumbass. You can tell he only has the mentality of a 5th grader, and it's instilled in his mind to smile for the class picture.
That’s it. I’m never stopping for gas in Brandon again.
Welcome to the Hospitality State, Charles.
Watch the video folks. That’s how quick you could be gone. Watch the vehicle to the right of the videographer
There should have been some buckshot and 5.56 rounds put in his face long before this happened.
Law enforcement should have complete immunity during these pursuits and implement the use of deadly force without hesitation to stop these criminals.
No wonder so many people are leaving Brandon and moving to Jackson!
@10:38 Totally Agree
10:38, can we assume you are moving to another country, say Russia where folks regularly fall out of buildings? Undoubtedly the Rankin County “no blessings here” Justice System will handle the fella appropriately. Advocating complete immunity and deadly force without due process though is un-American. The Founding Fathers, however imperfect they may have been, would be appalled.
Thanks KF for the bonus Jame Bond clip form the under appreciated Diamonds are Forever!
Isn't that the PD that just had a bunch of those 'push bumpers' installed for just this purpose?
No way in hell this should happen. Only by the grace of God some innocent was not killed. I'm sorry, I have complete respect for LEO's, but when it comes to this cowboy shit, it's got to stop.
BTW, I live in Brandon and seen these cops use 80 as a racetrack too many times.
Props to the hula dashboard ornament.
when you run from the police, and they have to chase you, i am completely ok with the police having a few minutes to absolutely beat your ass.
running from the police puts civilians, and innocents that have absolutely nothing to do with the myriad number of bad decisions you made in your life that lead you to getting chased.
there is no reason, whatsoever, to run from the police unless you are a criminal. i have zero patience, sympathy, empathy, care or concern with what happens to a criminal. criminals bring upon themselves all the bad shit that happens to them by making an untold number of bad decisions. endangering the public because of those bad decisions deserves an extra ass beating by the police once caught.
Brandon is doomed. I'm moving to W. Jackson.
@11:20. None of us want this to happen, well until something happens to you and/or yours.
It looks like he was driving a GM. Why not just call GM and ask them to remotely disable that shit-heap? If GM can remotely unlock the doors for LEOs, then they should be able to stop a hot pursuit as well.

Your Wal-Mart law degree isn't working.
The application of deadly force by police is not contingent upon due process.
Maybe he got the possible concussion when he flipped his truck? Not that he didn't deserve a beating, but why just assume that the police beat his ass? I don't have a problem if they did, but why rush to judgement without knowing the facts?
Awwww 11:12, it’s not? Actually it is, though depending on certain circumstances as defined by the U.S. Supreme Court deadly force in exigent situations permitted. Due process still applies but is trumped (you like that one?). If dues process didn’t apply, then how is law enforcement liable for any injury ever? The same analysis for skipping a warrant under exigent circumstances.
The fleeing fool is entitled to something other than “the use of deadly force without hesitation” and “immunity.” Neither the Constitution nor the U S Supreme Court have taken such a position. More importantly, the law-abiding public is entitled to something more than becoming collateral damage. Kudos to RCSO for arresting this POS in the manner they did.
And my law degree was from Costco, not Wal-Mart. You must have gotten your law degree from an in-state retailer.
@11:12 When someone is in the act of committing a crime that endangers the lives of the innocent they should be stopped by whatever means. If this same guys was standing in a shopping mall firing a gun at will wouldn't you want the cops to take him out. He's driving a 6000 lb vehicle at a high rate of speed. I don't see the difference.
While I'm extremely glad no one got killed and now that it settled down in my sleepy little town, let's review good videophone usage and start with the phrase,"...that's how quick you could..." and insert [flip the phone over to a landscape view] if someone were a videographer.
C'mon people, start practicing correct video camera etiquette, practice.
Maybe tomorrow we can start working on turn signals, you know, like what they are, where located, and the best practices for using them as well.
@1:46 Hey genius orator, I don't see where RCSO was involved in this matter. Where did you get that law degree again?
5:24, guess you are the genius for making a distinction without a difference. Lol.
I'm with 2:52. Shoot these people, rather than endanger innocent drivers.
Its a hard world now, and if you flee you should be the dead person. Not drivers that are obeying the laws.
Bet the number of folks that want to go all Dukes of Hazard drops after a few get shot, too.
