4:30 am in Bay St Louis with a possibly suicidal woman. This woman may have just lost everything at a casino. Possibly getting divorced etc.
Both officers had to be bunched up in a doorway making a perfect target. Regardless, a tragedy for BSLPD and the citizens. RIP.
My God, what a waste. Rest in peace, officers.
When people complain about LEO showing aggressiveness, this is why. They never know when the idiot behind the door has nothing to lose. No matter their approach 8:36 a.m., the thug criminal deserved the punishment she got. Stand a post, or STFU.
8:36 here. Don't disagree at all 9:24. Bad situation anyway one approaches it. Always tell my other units to stay back about a step or two so not everyone gets hit, unless a dynamic entry is warranted. If you're a LEO, be safe my brother/sister.
RIP brothers.
What a horrible Christmas these families will have.

To me, it sounds like a Human Trafficking situation, with the older woman "watching" the younger one, to make sure she didn't escape. The older one was probably feeling trapped. Her operation's bosses would be punishing HER(with severe beatings, at-minimum), for things going awry. And she was needing another hit of whatever drug was keeping her going. AND, she was in trouble with the cops. All of this, together, was more than she could handle, so... (just my theory, of course)
3:11, again. I was so VERY wrong. So, what was the problem? An abusive husband? Drugs? Both? Were the officers making her feel trapped, because of some sort of mandated arrest, or mandated placing of her child into state "care"?
Feeling "trapped" if/when you're breaking the law is irrelevant.
