The Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure temporarily suspended the license of Dr. Reginald Rigsby of Madison on November for engaging in sexual contact with a patient. No hearing was held on the suspension.
Dr. Rigsby consented to an indefinite suspension of his license in 1995 for sexual misconduct but managed to get reinstated in 1999. The decades passed until a social worker submitted a complaint against Dr. Rigsby to the Board.
The order states the Board:
received a complaint from a licensed clinical social worker providing services to a certain patient in the Meridian, Mississippi area, Patient A, who wished to report sexual contact between Licensee and Patient A based on concerns that Licensee had committed professional sexual misconduct in his sexual contact with Patient A; and WHEREAS, the Board’s Investigative Staff spoke with Patient A, who reported thatLicensee, while engaged in a bona fide physician-patient relationship, kissed him on the ""cheek and mouth, and hugged him while rubbing his clothed leg and/or penis on Patient A; and WHEREAS, the conduct described by Patient A and attributed to Licensee, would constitute acts of professional sexual misconduct; and WHEREAS, an expert was consulted and allowed to review all relevant materials, to include past treatment documents, resulting in a determination that Licensee represents an immediate threat to the public health and safety;...
The Board continued the indefinite suspension after holding a hearing December 8. Dr. Rigsby can apply for reinstatement after one year.

Well, I certainly hope no injection was administered.
They need doctors in Ukraine.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa….kisses “him” is a red flag! WTF??!!!. Now,…nope, I’m not going there. It ain’t worth it. Put that fella in jail and don’t let him out.
Reggie that’s just……ewwwaa!!!
The 1995 suspension was due to things he did to patients he was seeing at River Oaks. As was reported at the time, he would inject his male victims and perform oral sex on them when they were out cold. Didn’t get found out till someone woke up a little too soon. Went to school with him in seventh grade. He was a weird kid.
Please relocate out of Mississippi . Same physician did same action several years ago. He continued to bring shame on himself the profession , the community , family and friends.
'Divorce', 12:27? You think this is the first notice she had of his inclination?
Patient A, if he was mature enough and fit, should have administered initial harsh punishment immediately, as a defensive measure, then called police.
Please resign from all hospitals, medical groups, school advisory boards civic and community organizations for the good of yourself you are a danger to your patients. Think about others now.
When he checks your prostate if you feel hands on both shoulders, run!
His profile says family practice, but he is a proctologist on the side.
well he must be proud
A huge investment in time and money is required to become a medical doctor. What a shame to blow it all by fooling around with a patient.
Repeat offender
Why don't they treat drug and alcohol addicted doctors the same way instead of allowing them to attend a brief program and stay in the operating room? Are those guys not a danger to patients? If allowed to treat patients during or after a treatment program they should, at minimum, be required to submit to random drug/alcohol analysis.
Social Worker. Receiving services. Is this a vulnerable adult? A.G's office doing anything in that area?
7:52 - Social workers, among a multitude of others, are required by law to report to the A.G.'s office any known or suspected incidents of abuse of a 'vulnerable adult'. And the A.G.'s office is required by law to investigate.
Not suprised.
I think someone just has something against the man i have visited his office a many times thru the years and he always has hug and kiss me on the cheek and never did it in a sexual way if you read your bible it tells you to greet your brothers with a holy kiss and that’s all i ever looked at it as but for the plaintiff i think he is full of Bs!!!!!!!
It is very unfair that everyone jumps into conclusion and automatically think of the defendant as guilty. Dr Rigsby is a hard working individual who has change many lives and have saved hundreds of lives throughout his career. His compassion for his patients and love for medicine is exemplary. Rigsby is a professor and has helped training and teaching dozens of resident doctors in the last decade. I have known him for a few years as a colleague and a teacher. I do not know what happened 30 years ago but people make mistakes, he has paid the price for it. 30 years is a long time and people change. I believe this individual accusing him, had something against him, probably found out about his priors and saw an opportunity to hurt him. If you know Rigsby you would love him. Hang in there Dr. Rigsby, at the end of all this there is a good karma awaiting you.
