Notice does NOT apply to those served by wells.
Parts of city without water
The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
There is a citywide boil water notice in effect until further notice. The system has lost pressure due to line breaks that have not been identified. These breaks are likely caused by the weather. Water crews are actively trying to find these breaks in order to repair them as quickly as possible.
Some areas may be experiencing very low pressure. We will continue to work to maximize production at the plants to restore pressure to as much of the system as possible. Even if your pressure is restored, the boil water notice remains in effect until further notice. Please call 311 should you observe a significant water leak in your neighborhood.
Citizens are asked to turn off running faucets this afternoon while the temperatures are above freezing. Please check your businesses and churches for leaks and broken pipes, as these add up tremendously and only worsen the problem.
We thank you in advance for your help and understanding. We understand the timing is terrible. Please know that we hate to issue the notice during the Christmas holiday. Again, a tremendous “Thank You” to the crews who are working around the clock to restore pressure.

Catch 22. Run water to keep pipes from freezing but reduces pressure preventing water from running.
Even though EPA hired Henifin(sp?) to take over the water/sewer system entirely, Lil Choke's people keep inferring they are the active components, which they are not. I'd prefer Henifin issue notices henceforth, the mayor is an obfuscating poser with no credibility in Jackson.
Our moron for a mayor is the reason for all the incompetence. Let the state or feds people do there job Chokwe you idiot.
@2:05 You're right your mayor is an idiot but the State has already said Peace Out.
I guess I'll join the grammar and 'word usage' chorus.
@ 1:43 - While you rushed to use the words henceforth, obfuscating and poser you insulted my intelligence by misusing the word inferring.
One who speaks or writes does not infer. One who hears or reads what is spoken or written can or might infer. To infer is not to suggest.
And the comma in your concluding run-on sentence seems to separate what should be two sentences.
1:43 & 3:19, a semicolon would have also worked, showing a pause between two related thoughts.
@3:19
I agree infer should be imply,
thx 1:43, the other matters not on a blog site.
Comrade Теодор is back at home in Virginia enjoying all the clean water he and his family can handle.
This thread is so obvious and expected that even the trolls are now playing with the grammar and punctuation toys and entertaining themselves.
The low water pressure started Friday afternoon. I guess Henifin was traveling home and did not know what was going on.
Jackson Public Works and the EPA should investigate if “accelerationists” are vandalizing public works. There have been reports of such terrorist incidents taking place in Oregon and Washington State during this unprecedented Bomb Cyclone.
In about 11-months Ted Henefin's contract will expire and it will be business as usual in America's radical city. It will take years to replace the ancient infrastructure and he will be long gone. Right?
'Boil water notices does not apply to wells.'
Who, within the bounds of Jackson, has a well?
@4:32 PM - Try to keep up. OB Curtis receives it's water from the Rez; all other city water facilities receive their water from wells.
5:02 - Show me one resident of Jackson, or one of its businesses, who know the source of his/its water, whether Rez or well. I assumed the edict from on high meant well-water as in a residential-well like I have on my property.
