The Capitol Police nabbed a suspect in the assault and carjacking of a UMMC employee in the hospital parking lot. Good job, woof, woof.
UMMC CAO Dr. Jonathon Wilson issued the following statement:
I’m pleased to announce that the suspect in the assault/carjacking announced earlier this afternoon has been apprehended and is in UMMC Police custody for questioning.
The suspect, Frank White, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. today by Capitol Police, with support from the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The suspect was wearing an MDOC ankle monitor, which allowed law enforcement to locate him and make the arrest.
After concluding their investigation UMMC Police will transfer the prisoner to the Hinds County Detention Center.
I appreciate the work of the UMMC Department of Police and Public Safety, Capitol Police, MDOC, Mississippi Department of Public Safety and Mississippi Analysis and Information Center for quickly identifying, locating and arresting the suspect.
Our top priority is to foster an environment of safety and security on and around our campus and facilities, but when an incident occurs despite all safety measures in place, it is reassuring that through the diligent work of our police department and supporting agencies, criminals will be found and brought to justice.
White was convicted of armed robbery in Hinds County in December 2007 and sentenced in October 2008. He was granted parole in December 2021.
Kingfish note: The assault involved White allegedly choking the victim not once but twice.

Pretty sure an ankle monitor means this is not his first crime.
One more criminal that terrorizes the taxpayers and charges them for it.
He will be back out in no time. Making arrests is basically pointless in Hinds County
Another failure of the criminal justice system in MS.
No time, no fear.
And of course a rap sheet as long as my arm.
6'2" and 126lbs? A child could push him down.
Let UMMC employees conceal carry and this one would of worked itself out through natural selection.
6'2" - 126 lb. Dayum, he coulda slud in through an air vent and cranked it with a screwdriver.
Dufus criminal of the week: Doing a car-jacking with a GPS tracker on his ankle.
"Our top priority is to foster an environment of safety and security on and around our campus and facilities"
Somebody be lyin'. A week or so ago they said their top priority is superior medical treatment and stakeholder satisfaction
And, of late, priority 1 is really beating Blue Cross over the head with a shovel.
Committing assault with a GPS device on his ankle probably means that his job down at Goldman Sachs wasn't working out and he was opting for a return to 3 free meals, free lodging, and frequent sex.
10:32 made me laugh out loud. Well done.
The Legislature and Governor need to create a "Capitol Judicial District" to overlap the Capitol Police jurisdiction. Sentences can be served in any State of MS prison.
@ 10:32
We'll put him on three squares again and fatten him up a bit.
Blessings in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
Where is the silly crew from UMMC police in their flowery shirts? I thought that was gonna help. Guess not
Why is a MD issuing a statement and not the Chief of UMMC Police?
11:50 is right. If you're committing criminal acts WHILE wearing a monitored ankle bracelet, you're really not too concerned about the consequences of your actions.
You would think that being in the cross bar hotel for 13 years would have gotten a feller's attention. Evidently, the conditions he experienced inside were not severe enough to cause him to shy away from reoffending for more than a year.
I've often wondered if scientists will one day isolate a crime gene. It just seems like some people can't help but be criminals.........
Thanks for the 'In Living Color' clip, Kingfish.
That was a wonderful show and I miss it.
I thought about this and tried to figure what went thru his mind. I swear I believe he thought, "I can get over there, steal a car, get back home quickly, arrange to sell it and later, if need be, say I ain't been nowhere - been right here at home!"
Sum peeples jess ain't real brite.
Meanwhile, there's more:

@10:37am
Are you crazy, or just plain stupid? BCBS hasn't lost a dime, nor any sleep over their kerfuffle with Oxford/UMMC. UMMC was the one who declined participation, and BCBS said, "Oh well, more money in our pocket."
Commissioner Chaney full-well knows this too, but he's getting a lot of heat from the connected NOT to singularly blame Oxford/UMMC for their greediness and poor form of slandering BCBS while using poor Mississippians as pawns for more money. Oxford/UMMC is as dysfunctional as a soup sandwich.
The link posted @ November 10 - 9:35, above, is alarming! The head knocker says safety is priority No. 1 yet these incidents are repetitive, far from isolated.
Whoever owns this facility (Ole Miss or the State) flat has an obligation to correct this situation starting YESTERDAY.
More of a police presence is bullshit!
This is what you do when you CANNOT function properly in society. He knew he would be caught and that’s the problem. We have a society of professional full time criminals who only care about not benefitting society.
Has anyone thought to ask how the victim is doing? She WAS strangled not once but twice.
1:16 - This is not the place to ask such a question. Nobody here would know, including you. Ask whoever gave you that information (which is probably incorrect).
