I thought the Belhaven area had hired their own policemen. What is going on with that?
Blount's boondoggle CID sure is paying dividends now.
All remaining tax net positive neighborhoods in Jackson should get on board and assume the same equity position as soon as possible.
Never let it be said that cameras don't deter crime.
Someone please write what “one thing good” that Blount guy has done for Jackson, or for Mississippi? Maybe Mr. Blount might like to respond?
I lay all on the folks who abandoned Jackson and those who refuse to come here. There are so few people here now, the car jackers have been reduced to jacking each other.
The Blount family did give over million dollars to milsaps college a few yrs back. He’s the guy white liberals love and academia is so important to. Fondren Belhaven types. Limousine liberals as we called them growing up in Richland
Not sure what Blount has to do with this. I'm not a fan, but legislators legislate. He's just a media hog, but not to blame for city crime and lack of law enforcement.
Chowke's highly celebrated "real time crime center" must have been on a break, right?
Those who choose to remain in Jackson are comparable to pitbull owners.
I have no sympathy for you when your precious bully mauls you!
Y'all leave Beto O'Blunt alone. This perception of crime is simply a misunderstanding.
12:21 NAILED IT!! The fondren/belhaven types. Liberal snobs!!!
Insert one of the following excuses:
-this happens everywhere, the media just picks on Jackson because racism
-crime does not really happen often in The Fondren
-If all the white people had not moved...
-Tate is somehow responsible
-we just need more money
Does this mean one can't get of the car in The Belhaven and walk to the house without being robbed, beaten or jacked?
You turd-muffins who constantly chirp about being aware of your surroundings might want to explain how this should be done.
{I'll blow a MoFo away if he approaches me! in 3..2..1}
Props for “Beto O’Blount.”
Grand Theft Auto, Jackson, Mississippi edition is live.
Although not technically in Belhaven, what about all off those cars parked near Murrah high school broken into during the nationally televised Jackson State football game? IMaybe this Blount guy can comment on this. He seems very quiet lately.
12:21 and 1:25 are the downside of when Brayleigh and John Luke make it over from their treeless neighborhoods to the Belhaven brewery to drink “fancy beer” “only during daylight hours though” and overhear someone talking about Jackson Jambalaya and now here they are.
Welcome John Luke and Brayleigh to JJ! We look forward to your comments.
At least he was wearing his mask like a good little Democrat.
It’s fun to blame David Blount for carjackings and have a good laugh but it’s not his fault. I live in Fondren and make fun of myself for living here but once you’re invested you have incentive to stay. I’ve been impressed with Capitol Police but they can’t solve every problem. They are making some impact. I saw 3 CP vehicles on constant patrol in Fondren and Belhaven a few days ago. I’ve seen CP pull suspects out of vehicles and command respect. Based on what I’ve seen, CP is not going to take it easy on criminals.
When we see more criminals taking rounds from CP and the property owners you will see progress. And not everyone in Fondren is a snob or a liberal. Hopefully people in Fondren and Belhaven will get armed and if possible, defend themselves in these situations.
Roger that on the Capitol Police, 11:44. I saw three CP patrol vehicles in hot pursuit of a Dodge Charger yesterday on North State Street right in front of Millsaps. They were running flat-out, with lights and sirens. According to WAPT, the driver was finally stopped near County Line Road.

Blount and his wife have been profiting with real estate acquisitions made through MDAH for a LONG time.
