Will there be an entourage? Will he get his own theme music? Stay tuned.
Note: The National Bar's membership apparently ignored his recent history.
* The Mississippi Workers Comp Commission sanctioned him for $500 in 2017 for throwing a tantrum at a hearing. Earlier post.
* The Mississippi Court of Appeals ordered Carlos Moore to pay
sanctions of $27,467 after he failed to appear in court for a trial
because he had a "speaking engagement" in Texas. Earlier post.
* Mississippi Bar reprimanded him in 2020 for ignoring an assignment of a Client's funds and providing the funds to the client. Earlier post.
* Federal judge in North Mississippi sanctioned Moore for $3,000 in 2017 for fabricating statements, memos, and not responding to discovery.
* U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves sanctioned Moore $500 in the
Belhaven case after he found Moore's client destroyed evidence in 2017.
Earlier post.
* The Tennessee Bar censured the Grenada attorney in 2019 after he
placed a lien on a client because she rejected a settlement offer he
recommended. Earlier post.
* The estate of Kendrick Murry sued him (pro se) in September 2020 in Forrest County Circuit Court for alleged legal malpractice of a case. Earlier post. However, the lawsuit has not been prosecuted since the initial filing of the complaint. Mr. Moore has not been served with the lawsuit.

"Carlos, Carlos! He's our man. If Carlos can't help you, nobody can."
1-800 Carlos 4 Pres.
John Satterfield (Yazoo City) was president of American Bar Association 1961-62!!
The NBA didn't choose him in spite of that goofiness. They chose him because of it.
Incompetency pays-
This is the National Bar Association, not the ABA.
9:19 this bar association is far less prominent than this ABA.
Guess what organization membership will now get an attorney passed over when I seek counsel? Anyone that places race over professional conduct in their business dealings gets no business from me.
I have been interviewing attorneys for about a week. I was involved in an accident in January and definitely need some representation
Glad this came out today because I have no interest in hiring anyone that's a part of this group.
By the very nature of the profession, you're going to have people who don't like lawyers. Some people win cases and the people on the losing side aren't going to like it. That's just how it is.
That being said, are any of you old enough to remember when the practice of law was an honored profession? That was back when it was unethical for a lawyer to solicit business and when it was considered wrong (and I believe illegal) to foment litigation like the daily hucksters on TV.
Now, you have guys like Carlos out there, throwing what he can at the wall to see if it sticks, and although he continues to engage in "disbarrable" conduct, all he seems to receive are slaps on the wrist. This guy is out of control and dangerous, but just like the "good kids" who continue to receive blessings in the Jackson criminal "justice" system, they're not going to slow down with their criminal ways if they know the punishment will be bearable.
Never heard of the National Bar Association, and I'm an attorney of 26 years experience.
By the way, I'm also NOT a member of the American Bar Association.
It is my opinion that Mr. Moore is a very fitting face for this organization.
9:54 Yet, isn't it interesting how Coca Cola has stated that they will seek the counsel of law firms BECAUSE of their race? Not surprising, I suppose
Carlos finally made it big in the NBA!
Any credibility this organization once had has now been undermined by its choice of leadership.
This is a national organization that is blatantly liberal in it's agenda. Carlos need only IMPLY that he is the constant victim of the racist Mississippi judicial system and that he is simply a champion of the rights of poor people being professionally harassed and he is believed without question. It says much more about the image of Mississippi in the eyes of uninformed outsiders than about a jive-ass hustler like Carlos.
Congratulations Carlos! Keep them mad :)
I bet it really eats Jamie up that he couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Hinds county while those individuals he targets rise above him.
Always the little bitch Jamie
I looked up the National Bar Association and it's, "the nation's oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American attorneys and judges."
Sounds exclusionary with a race-based membership requirement to me.
@10:04: the fact that you've never heard of the NBA says more about you than the organization. Boasting about your ignorance cant be good for your practice either.
I just looked up "Friends of Mississippi Civil Rights, Inc." on the MS Secretary of State's website and found that it was created by Carlos in January 2018. Carlos is the only officer/director, the registered agent, and the incorporator. No annual report has been filed since it was organized.
Facts: the majority, if not all or nearly all, of these so-called “bar associations,” organizations, honors/awards (e.g., Super Lawyers, Top 100 __________ (fill in the blank), are simply PAY TO PLAY schemes. The volume of mail that lawyers receive, with the standard “congrats, you have been carefully selected...” letter, followed with a payment form, is astounding. And ridiculous.
- Anonymous lawyer.
All these sloopy lawyers around town better tighten up! There is a new sheriff in town!
Is the MS bar not going to do anything with the FB post of the guy that committed suicide? He didn’t even apologize. He doubled down and blamed his actions on the flag. Also, if he made up court documents/discovery and has had issues in the past with being honest and lacking integrity, why is he still practicing? Where the hell is the Bar that I pay dues to every year?
And 11:35 - why do you support Carlos? 9 times out of 10 he associates/hires another attorney to handle the case that you hired him to do
Ask not what your car wreck client can do for you but what you can do for your car wreck client.
The only thing we have to fear is Carlos himself.
If you have a couple hundred bucks to spare you can be named "Lawyer of the Year" by some honorary professional organization. At one time the NBA served a real purpose but has now become little more than than a joke relic of a bygone era. Nobody will laugh it out of town for fear of being branded racist, so clowns like Mr. Moore can still use it's name for self promotion. It's one of those jokes you can't laugh at in public. It's a good hustle.
The Westin will be a happening place for the 4-day coronation of Carlos. Hope Rick's Cabaret and Larry Flynt's Hustler Club are ready to take care of these distinguished dignitaries.
What happened to the video of Carlos v. Belhaven where he said the young lady went to several pastors in Jackson seeking help, and they all tried to jump her bones?
So Carlos is sponsoring a meeting to....honor Carlos. How thoughtful and humble of him. (Of course Carlos is having to pay for the meeting honor himself because no one else will.)
Usually when Bar organizations have meetings such as this, there are CLE classes, social events, guest speakers, vendors, etc. If you look at the schedule for this meeting, there is a dinner to honor Carlos, a press conference (well of course, Carlos loves those), a cabinet meeting, a board meeting, and then a "brain trust" meeting. No CLE, no social events, etc.
In other words, this is a meeting set up by Carlos to honor Carlos. Wow, just wow. This guy is such a narcissist.
Oh wait, I see now that the website/webpage for this convention to honor Carlos is not a convention set up or hosted by the National Bar Association itself. It is what I thought, just a meeting organized by Carlos to honor Carlos. The NBA's actual Annual Meeting is not until July 23-27, and it's being held virtually, not in person this year.
Please someone go by this "Inauguration" and see how many people show up. Usually at a meeting of a national Bar association such as this you will have hundreds, if not thousands, of attendees. My bet is there may be 20 or so at this one.
Back during the flap about the state flag, I first heard about Carlos because he was associated with a Boston-based grifter "activist-historian" named Kevin M. Levin (no seriously look up that woke joker), who himself was on a personal crusade against the 1894 flag. Moore and Levin go all the way back to when Moore was at law school in Mobile.
Seriously, God help anybody who has been under his incompetent jurisdiction in either Clarksdale or Jackson.
He's charging $375 a ticket to the event.
