Foolishness in The Fondren

Check out what Fondren diners have been forced to endure lately. As usual, the city of Jackson offers nothing but excuses.

Saw these guys at Shell station on corner of Lake Harbor and Pear Orchard on Thursday.

Disturbing the peace is a crime. This is not a 1A issue.

Anonymous said...

If you choose to live there when you have other choices...tough shit. If you can't afford to move from there I have empathy for you.

Anonymous said...

There has to be a legal distinction for free speech when you’re using a microphone like that. I have no problem with preaching in public but the microphone is just obnoxious and unnecessary

Anonymous said...

As if wearing masks wasn’t punishment enough. How about going to the hood to spread the good word instead of bothering people eating in Fondren?

Anonymous said...

Water sprinklers aimed correctly will solve this.

I only get a blank space where a video should be. It would be nice to include enough information for me to google it on my own.

Anonymous said...

Only Luciferians and Sodomites condone the wholesale slaughter of the unborn.

Anonymous said...

I am actually more concerned about how you can stomach a meal in proximity to a slaughterhouse for the unborn. The mere thought of those innocents being surgically ripped apart and then vacuumed out would make me lose my appetite.

But you do you, Kingfish.

Tolerance is not a virtue. The people of Jackson choose to tolerate this and all of the other problems. It's not the choice I would make, but it's what they want. They tolerate it, they elect people that foster it or make no motion to change it, and they continue to live and work without demanding change or effecting it themselves. If NE Jackson wasn't full of cuckold fetishists the City of Jackson administration couldn't take a step out of city hall without tripping over a lawsuit or a protest of angry residents. Instead those stalwart men love sitting in the corner and watching their property values get screwed.

Anonymous said...

Here is the question I wish these guys would ask themselves: "Does my approach bring people in, or push people out?"

Anonymous said...

Amen 2:22. They aren’t trying to pull anybody into their faith. This is all about them showing out. In your face pagan!

Good post 2:22.

Oh what’s wrong? Don’t like a little preaching?

As annoying as it is, all you have to do is ignore them.

Video would not play,,

Onward Christian Soldiers! You are doing the Lord’s Work!
As we all know, only the wicked and demon possessed fear the light of God’s Word!

Anonymous said...

meh. im more worried about all the murders and street racing than street preachers..

Anonymous said...

3:05 pm- please let me know the location and time/date of your next meal out. I’ll come “preach” to you and see how you like it.

That guy is an a$$hole and deserves an a$$ kicking.

Anonymous said...

Why are these nuts harassing people that only want to enjoy a meal ?

Neither the customers or the restaurants have any connection to the abortion clinic across the street.

These idiots are no different from the Westboro Baptist Church cult.

There is no way I would consider spending my money for lunch or dinner at any establishment in Fondren ... as long as these psychos are allowed to roam the streets.

Anonymous said...

They need to be in front of the M-bar where there's lots of room for moral improvement.

Anonymous said...

When and where do you dine out 3:05?

Anonymous said...

62 million (and counting) since 1973. But the street preacher is the problem. Maybe y’all would care more if they were white babies.

Anonymous said...

What would Jesus do? I'm thinking he doesn't get on a loud speaker at least.

Anonymous said...

@4:23 PM, But you are fine eating and drinking next to the abortion clinic?
No wonder the city is in such a shape. The moral and spiritual decay is unanimous.

By the way, that Frank Pollard “Courage Does Not Equal Comfort” sermon is on point.

Anonymous said...

" 62 million (and counting) since 1973. But the street preacher is the problem. Maybe y’all would care more if they were white babies."

No 4:49, your comment is stupid (not ignorant, but stupid).

These folks only wish to enjoy an outdoor Spring meal.

Why should they be abused by crazy-ass people while they are only trying to enjoy a burger with their kids ?

Gawd, I'm against abortion too, but the restaurants in Fondren have nothing to do with the abortion clinic.

By the way, what did you mean by your "White baby" comment ?

(That sounds like something the "Black Racist" groups would say).

Anonymous said...

It reveals the nature of "protest". I was in Atlanta recently when the BLM crowd shut down a business area with their protest. People were far more disturbed by their obnoxious protest than their cause. If they had any sympathy from neutral observers they lost it by their blatant actions. If they don't understand that, they have other problems.

Anonymous said...

Maybe they should try preaching at
The M Bar !

Anonymous said...

This video was taken a good block away from the abortion clinic. If you see these "preachers" in action and are forced to endure what they say, you would know that they spend much more of their time proselytizing about "fornication" and homosexuality than they do about abortion. Don't be fooled into assuming what their mission is. They are Westboro-style kooks plain and simple.

Squeezer said...

Karens, it's called the first amendment. It protects all speech, even speech you don't like, so that you can have speech you do like. If you don't want to hear it you don't have to eat there.

Anonymous said...

So to the above posters, you think that businesses and people who live in close proximity are to blame for the abortion clinic? Someone who chooses to eat at a place with no affiliation to the clinic should be to blame? That’s not the thought of a rational mind. I could easily turn that on you. How can you eat and live your life in the same county as the clinic or even in the same state for the matter? Do you see how absurd that argument sounds. How can you blame because of proximity? Also, these extremists go to all parts of the South so don’t sit here and act like this is all about the clinic. This is about control and your sexist views toward women. One wore a shirt basically stating that women shouldn’t lead. I feel sorry for your wives and daughters because they’ll grow up to believe they’re subhumans capable of nothing because of your warped mindsets. These are not Christians. People in Fondren, Christians and non-Christians alike, are about to stand up for themselves. This video does not at all show what is happening. They harass and threaten people, which is simple assault in the state of MS. There are quite a few criminal violations against what they are doing. These are low life people, some of which are military rejects who have nothing to live for. They’d rather act like a gang instead of talking to people about God’s love. To all you “Christians”on here, how is screaming at a girl and calling her a Jezebel preaching the word of God? How is threatening a coffee shop of 50+ people preaching the word of God? You have no idea what anyone thinks but you don’t care because you sickos have rationalized that everyone who is not you is an enemy. And that is how you get racial religious extremists.

Anonymous said...

This idiot has no concept of the real Jesus. Neither do most keyboard jockey Christians though.

Anonymous said...

Sound like the guy that guesses weight at the fair.

Anonymous said...

Squeezer, there is no first amendment right to harass intimidate and threaten. None. Stop reading buzzfeed articles.

Anonymous said...

IF JACKSON IS SO BAD WHY DON’T YOU TAKE YOUR BIG BUTT TO FLOWOOD.

Anonymous said...

If this guy was a real Christian, he would not destroy a business that has nothing to do with an abortion clinic a block away.

Kingfish said...

Some of these businesses, such as Walkers, we're there loooooooong before that clinic.

Anonymous said...

I can only think of the extermination camps in Germany and Poland. Thousands of innocent lives being torn to shreds and throw into ovens to have their ashes sifted through for tooth fillings, all the while the German public strolled by in peace and luxury, worried only about what they might get at the market for dinner. Enjoy your burger at Roosters in the shadow of Death and Evil. Can’t you see you’re the same?

Anonymous said...

They were preaching to the wrong crowd. I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day.

Anonymous said...

Yet another reason to never set foot in Jackson.....

Anonymous said...

8:50 Because people on this post like and live in Fondren. So we should have to stop doing the things we like in Fondren? Why should we be the ones to move? If we applied that logic we couldn’t live and enjoy any place in MS because these extremists travel everywhere in MS.

Anonymous said...

So what is wrong with enjoying a burger in a place right next to an abortion clinic? Do you have a mile radius criteria for when you can enjoy things in comparison to things you consider atrocities? Please elaborate. 5 miles, 10? Also, I’m not sure how calling women sluts and slurs has anything to do with abortion protests but you people keep trying to destroy Fondren in your abortion protest facade. Attacking people for being “gluttons” (ironically the rather bulbous ones saying this) and chanting Jesabel at women doesn’t seem to be related to abortion. One of you people said the entirety of Fondren is wicked. There are so many good people, both Christian and non-Christian. I’m glad you cast a broad stroke on everyone here, an action in complete disregard to the Bible you claim to know and love.

Anonymous said...

This reminds me if the BLM protestors harassing people on eating their dinner on sidewalks. If you think this behavior is your right as a citizen you are confused.

Anonymous said...

I was there, and I'd like to note a few details. Before the street preachers showed up, the Bean was playing extremely loud music on their outdoor speakers. (The music was loud enough to annoy a person in their nearby apartment.) When the street preachers went to the Bean, the Bean employees sprayed them with a hose (which, as I'm sure any intelligent person would realize, only egged them on). The Bean was definitely not an innocent party, and I won't be patronizing their shop any more.

Anonymous said...

10:58 You have no clue what you are talking about. I am there every few days and they do this outside the Bean at least bi-weekly (or further down the street next to Treehouse). They were by the abortion clinic before they came over to the Bean, so that is why the Bean turned up loud music. While I didn’t witness someone spray them with a hose, I’m sure you would be unbelievably upset if you worked there and your livelihood depended on good business and these idiots were outside scaring customers away. They are pervasive in Fondren, and them turning up the music was only trying to blot out these sexist pigs from ruining their patrons’ time. I don’t know how you can see this and blame the Bean. This is constant.

I Miss Shakey's Pizza Parlor said...

Seems to me these citizens engaged in peaceful, constitutionally protected assembly, have a right to that exercise without nearby people slobbering over hamburgers while producing the ungodly sight of mustard on white shirts. Let those patrons sit on tailgates over on Northside Drive where they can watch the motor scooter races for free.

Anonymous said...

Let me know if these hypocrites ever open their Bible - let me know when they get to the line:

"Judge not, lest ye be judged"

Anonymous said...

If they don’t arrest thugs for blasting offensive rap music, then they can’t arrest people for amplifying the word of God. None of you, Including Kingfish, complain about the loud cursing rap music.

That Giant Sucking Sound said...

I know nothing about this particular 'event', but didn't Chokwe outlaw any and all sidewalk activity aimed at the baby-killing place?

The truth of the matter, here, is a majority of those who hang-out in and visit The Fondren, support the practice of abortion. Connect the dots: Liberals support abortion. The Fondren is a liberal enclave. The only place for legal abortion in this state is in The Fondren.

Meanwhile, how ironic is it that several vacuum cleaner salesmen show up at that 'clinic' every week? Some are dressed just like Barney Fife.

Anonymous said...

It’s annoying as hell but the city really can’t do anything. I have no idea why people keep putting them at fault.

Anonymous said...

Pretty sure the mayor hates Fondren.

Anonymous said...

I live in Fondren. Let me assure you, we complain all the time about the loud cars and motorcycles and their modified exhausts and loud music. Those complaints fall on deaf ears. The city has abandoned Fondren.

Anonymous said...

It’s not my preferred method for changing people’s hearts, but it does make it difficult for the good and kind diners in Fondren to face their maker one day and declare that they weren’t aware what was happening in their midst.

You saw a lot of Germans doing the same thing denying knowledge of concentration camps. I’m sure they felt the same way when they ate their sauerkraut to the stench of burning bodies drifting through the towns.

Anonymous said...

Ah, yes the detraction arguments. Diverts from the issue at hand to another illegality. “Oh you’re mad about that, well what about this?”

I’m interested to know what you think constitutes constitutionally protected speech. Threats and harassment’ are not protected speech and law enforcement can arrest and convict these individuals even if they haven’t yet.

Anonymous said...

2:49 See it’s comments like these that make it abundantly clear we are not talking to people of sound minds. You are saying that eating hamburgers and getting a condiment on your shirt is ungodly? People like you are just insane and mask your derangement and radicalism behind a holy book. You should be absolutely ashamed. God is love and this is not.

Anonymous said...

NOTHING but complaints about and within thee city of Jacktown, and most people are attacking someone trying to make a change. Maybe his style is lacking, but the courage it takes to try to make a difference. Here's the funny part, all of you haters are attacking his style, not his message.
Just imagine if you will, the next time you go to Jackson, all you hear is someone spreading the gospel. No gunshots, no tire squealing, no thuggery.

Anonymous said...

"The city has abandoned Fondren." The city has abandoned the city as a whole. But.. never you fret, Baby Choke will go to Washington soon enough, If Benny decides to call it quits or passes, whichever comes first.

Anonymous said...

"Maybe they should try preaching at The M Bar". While they are annoying, I'm betting they really don't have a death wish to show up at the Mayors after hours office spouting whatever it is they spout on any given day.

Anonymous said...

In the name of all things good, we do not need Baby Chock in Washington DC. Pray that God will stop that.

Anonymous said...

“Perception of crime”......Whatever the hell that means.

Anonymous said...

11:24 PM -- Again, I was there. The street preachers were standing silently with this big signs on N. State Street in front of the abortion clinic. They were chatting with each other. Then the Bean started playing really loud music on a speaker aimed at the abortion clinic. And then the street preachers went over to the Bean, where they got sprayed with a hose. Honestly, it seemed like the Bean was trying to get the street preachers to come over to the Bean so they could get a video to use when they complain to the city council...but maybe I'm just jaded. -- 10:58 PM

Anonymous said...

Kingfish, admittedly I’m not going to devote the time to look up the post, but I’m certain I’ve seen more than one story by you defending the rights of these abortion protesters against the City’s efforts to make them leave. You can’t have it both ways.

Anonymous said...

10:24, that just is not believable. I can't imagine these guys "standing silently" when they were clearly ready to be very loud.

Anonymous said...

I'm A Christian but this is horrible how many people have they discouraged to even consider Christianity. You cannot beat someone over the head with a Bible and win them to Christ.

Anonymous said...

I'd bet the cult leader has instructed its (very few actual) members to use that German comment on here multiple times.

Nothing brings folks to God's love like Hitler references, right guys?

I try not to judge them, and instead pray for these angry loud folks and their misguided representation of God's love.

Kingfish said...

Search box is on the right. Go find it and good luck.

Using sound amplifiers goes past normal protest. There is a difference between protest and harassment.

Anonymous said...

9:22 no it’s not just his style. It’s his message. Message: You’re going to hell if you are not them. Women with short shorts or who think they’re equal are Jezebels. People eating in Fondren are gluttons. Christians telling them this is not the way are called fake Christians and are destined for hell fire. Calling everyone a sinner, meanwhile saying they are saints and above reproach (which is fundamentally against what the Bible says). Not too long ago I was swarmed by them when they took up the sidewalk and big man with the discount sunglasses got in my face.

If someone came up to you harassing you in the street with no religious context I’m sure “style” would be a big reason why you felt threatened. For some reason people can threaten others in a religious guise and get away with it. But yes, their message is fundamentally against Christianity and they are threatening.

Anonymous said...

11:24. I see your point, but these individuals make their way into Fondren by late afternoon anyway. I don’t think it’s fair to blame the Bean for putting out loud music to “invite them.” They were being proactive because this happens almost every Saturday. I can promise you if they didn’t go by the Bean they would have gone by Green Ghost or by Treehouse by later afternoon.

Anonymous said...

10:45 - You don't have to believe it. I'm just reporting what I saw. -- 10:24 AM

Anonymous said...

@ 10:52, that’s flattering that you took an off the cuff point I made (while at lunch no less) as some deeply contrived cult platform. I must have really hit a nerve on that one.

To clarify, God’s love is not the point. God’s wrath, although not particularly trendy these days with the “go-along, get-along” generation, is the point. You do realize the God of love is the same as the God of wrath. As perfect as His love is, His wrath is also. Geez, I do sound like a sidewalk preacher.

Anyway, it’s just food for thought. I’m sure I could have used other events of genocide, but like you said Germans are just too easy and anyway you obviously go the point.

Now from sinner to sinner (if you’ll indulge), cut the crap. You do judge. You did judge in your post and most likely you didn’t so much as pause to pray for those people or for any of the others involved in Fondren - or me, for that matter.

See I am a good old Baptist from Brandon and not easily disarmed with the “shut up you have to love me no matter what evil I support”. Once I see you’re knowledgeable about Christ and have decided to reject Him or or dilute His teachings, I dust my sandals off of you and never lose another moment worrying about your welfare or future.

Anonymous said...

1:26, Jesus would continue worrying about me. So would a good Christian. Just not a Brandon baptist.

Anonymous said...

Lolllll!!!! We had a wager at lunch that if I put a local area and a religious affiliation in my response, you (whoever you are) would go straight to a personal attack on that. LIKE A FISH TO BAIT! That is too funny!!!!

Anonymous said...

Video clearly shows an eccentric sidewalk preacher yelling at patrons of a restaurant that just so happens to be near an abortion clinic.

The comments: WOMEN WITH SHORT SHORTS ARE JEZEBELS! GOD HATES YOU BABY KILLERS AND WHEN HE COMES BACK YOULL BE SORRY!

you people are nut-jobs and it would be funny if it weren't for the fact that you are holding this entire state back with your fundamentalist bullshit. I'm certainly not one to defend Jackson and especially not their municipal government. But man, y'all need to give it a rest. No one cares what you think or what you believe.

Anonymous said...

They already responded to your point, only for you to come back and post some bullshit about how your a "good ole baptist from Brandon". no one asked and no one cares what your religious views are. just like no one cares about what that street preacher had to say. They were there to eat lunch. Not listen to some lunatic on the street screaming at them.

"IF JACKSON IS SO BAD WHY DON’T YOU TAKE YOUR BIG BUTT TO FLOWOOD."
May 2, 2021 at 8:50 PM

Practically EVERYBODY already HAS - because of people like YOU.

In addition to Flowood, Pearl, Brandon, and Madison, many of us (MOST of us, if you count all the kids who go off for college, with the intention of never returning) have taken our "big butts" (our fat asses, too...) as far from Mississippi as we could get. Maybe not everybody makes it as far as the Pacific Northwest, but people whose experiences with PEOPLE LIKE YOU made us loathe Mississippi, and who therefore fled Mississippi, probably outnumber those who merely moved to Flowood and Madison.

The few who brave the "dining-out experience" in Fondren, are mostly people connected, in some way, to the nearby medical complex. Or, they're STILL trying to sell their homes in Jackson.

Anonymous said...

Not that it matters, but, Kingfish has not set foot in a house of worship in 40 years. He's not only a race-baiter, but a riotousness baiter.

Anonymous said...

The nut jobs are trying a very simple tactic. Get the owners of the businesses to lose money and then they will hopefully turn on the abortion clinic. Sad really. Like some have said some of the these businesses have been there since before the clinic moved in. These businesses are not at fault. These people are not trying to bring people to the lord they are enjoying the taste of being superior in "their" world. I don't agree with abortion but these folks are not helping. If they got in my face they might get a little A$$ kicking.

Anonymous said...

Oh WOW May 3, 2021 at 11:36 AM
While trying to admonish me, you actually listed a number of sins that the Bible addresses. But one thing that is perfectly clear, NOBODY ever "wins" in these types of discussions. So go ahead and live your life making excuses for the sins you enjoy.
As far as Mr. Street Preacher, anytime someone has a message that hits a nerve, you will find fault no matter what or how the message is delivered. He didn't bother me.

Anonymous said...

These folks are going beyond what Scripture teaches in some cases. For example, the Bible clearly states that drunkenness is a sin, but it does not condemn all alcohol consumption. Psalm 104:15 says that God gives us "wine that makes glad the heart of man".

Anonymous said...

I'm glad the JPD are allowing these Christians to yell at everyone with bullhorns.

Free Speech and all . . .

Anonymous said...

Doesnt this group show up at other locations? Seem to recall they or similar were pulling same tactics at parking lot at brandon amphitheatre

Anonymous said...

Speech is one thing. The use of mechanical amplifiers is another. The constitution protects one while the other violates local ordinance. The owner of the affected establishment should (have) file charges.

Anonymous said...

Dirty water, screaming preachers, overpriced food, auto burglaries, etc. why does anyone do business in Fondren? asking fr a friend.

Anonymous said...

So a preacher and a clairvoyant who can tell by looking at people whether they have repented and been saved?

I suspect those two humans are "puffed up" but didn't understand that's a bad thing when they "read" the Bible and have the need to be the center of attention.

I'm sorry the words
"Those who are holier than thou are like a smoke up God's nose and a fire that burns all day and all night"

You'll have to find an old King James version and then wonder why those "revising" thought it needed to be omitted.

Yep! The Rabbit Died... said...

I'm guessing 80% of the patrons of that establishment have either HAD or PAID for an abortion. So...there ya go.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
