Terror in CCJ & Ridgeland (Updated)

A night of terror took place in Ridgeland and Jackson last night as two men kidnapped a man and then robbed his parents.

The two suspects invaded the victim's Ridgeland home and kidnapped him last night.  Thankfully, he managed to escape.  Unfortunately, the two thugs didn't call it a night but visited his parents's home in the Country Club of Jackson.

They kicked in the door, surprising the elderly homeowners.  The elderly couple was bound while the scumbags robbed their home.

Sources say the suspects may have ties to prison extortion.  Ridgeland and Jackson police are investigating.   The crime was not random in nature.

Update: JPD issued the following statement.

Jackson Police are investigating a incident that occurred around 11:00pm on June 4, 2020 in the 100 block of St. Andrews Dr.  Upon arrival officers talked to the homeowners and were advised that they were  awakened from their sleep at gunpoint. The suspects tied both residents up and took approximately $3,600 in cash and a 2013 Mercedes ML 350 SUV from the garage. The homeowners described the suspects as two black males, wearing mask and gloves dressed in all black clothing. Investigators are checking surveillance cameras and other evidence to determine other possible leads. No other information is available at this time.

As the metro slides more into a state resembling a third world shithole, expect more kidnappings and ransoms that are endemic to third world shitholes.
Lock and load and keep your head on a swivel.

With all of this protesting & rioting against authority you should expect crime to get worse.

Prison extortion?

The Brazilian firm Taurus (Officialy Taurus Armas) makes one on the best home defense weapons on the market.

If anyone would like more info, just google
"Taurus, the Judge".

Too bad these innocent people didn't have access to that great self defense short range
"thug stopper".

Anonymous said...

This is pretty rough.

I'm surprised any, or all 3 of the victims were not killed.

Kingfish said...

Victims are in their 80s and the invaders achieved total surprise in the dead of the night.

Doesn't matter what weapon they have at that point.

Anonymous said...

@6:49
People in that tax bracket can afford NFA weapons like a registered H&K MP5 SMG. I'm not even rich and I wouldn't touch a Taurus if you paid me.

Look, it doesn't matter what tou are carrying ig someone gets a jump on you. Theres a lot of dead cops that attest that fact.

Anonymous said...

Hey here’s a great idea let’s listen to empower Mississippi, Americans for prosperity, and the rest of the liberaltarians and let more people out of prison!

Anonymous said...

Taurus and Rossi are the wheelgun of choice for shooters who like misaligned cylinders and lead spraying back at them!

Anonymous said...

@6:58
Then buy the S&W version.

Kingfish said...

That doesn't apply to all Taurus. I have one I bought in 02. Has stamped made in Brazil on it. Pretty good gun for what it is, a .38.

Smith andWesson “Governor” shoots 45 and 410 shells. Remember shoot to kill.

The time has come for all of us to take personal defense seriously. I was at the Academy Sports gun counter this afternoon. A local TV newsman was doing some shopping. I wasn't nosy enough to try to find out what he brought. But his voice was unmistakable.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry but the local threat does drivebys with AR pisols and holdups with Glock 17 using 30 round stick mags. A wheel gun is not going to cut it. It's a fun fudd gun for plinking though.

Anonymous said...

Gawd, I knew the anti Taurus crowd would appear
at some point.

But that's fine, I never said Taurus was the ultimate weapon.

Only a "Thug Stopper" at close range.

Anonymous said...

So what’s the description of the perps?
And what’s with the “prison” motive?

Anonymous said...

If you put the entire Taurus line in front of me and told me I had to pick a gun to defend myself then I would take the PT-92. But why did they have to ruin the magazine catch so you can't even use Beretta 92 magazines?

Anonymous said...

So how did they know where the parents lived? WLBT made no mention of the home invasion at CCJ. WAPT made no mention of any of these crimes. WHOEVER this person was in Wendover Subdivision who was “kidnapped” was dropped off back home??? Yea right. He did not escape. The “kidnapped victim” was in on it and plotted to rob his own parents. This will be over in a hot minute.

Anonymous said...

Ok you all know your guns. What happened in this violent attack? Two or more crime scenes?
Prison extortion racket?

Anonymous said...

What happened to Security, they once had the Sheriff Dept doing Security there.

Anonymous said...

So if you read the news report, they showed up at the mans house, take him to an ATM, return the man, steal his car and leave it at an apartment. Question is, how did they get to his house? How did they leave where they dropped the car off? And get this, he was kidnapped at 9:40pm. What criminals kidnapped someone at there home in a neighborhood in Ridgeland at 9:40 pm and risk someone Seeing them walking their doggy? Taking out the trash? Now get this, they magically show up at the parents house. WOW! These guys must be clairvoyant!!! Maybe they follows this guy for weeks, tapped his phones, GPS his car. I get it now, it’s the NSA/CIA/FBI looking for those secret documents on Russian collusion. They were hidden all this time at the Jackson Country Club. LOL

Anonymous said...

Don’t they have a guard at the entrance and cameras?

Anonymous said...

Ok, what did I miss? Why rob the parents of somebody you just tried to kidnap? There's more to this story than just random thuggery.

Anonymous said...

This isn't a Jackson/M adison issue people. It's clear this family had someone wanting to get even or just plain target them. Clearly the knew the offenders.

Anonymous said...

Home security. You never have to use your gun if you install bullet proof windows and iron doors. Thugs can’t get in and move on to an easier target.

Anonymous said...

Why would ANYONE pick a .410 (with a rifled barrel no less) as a "best home defense weapon?"

Also, "The time has come for all of us to take personal defense seriously. I was at the Academy Sports gun counter this afternoon."

Dude, Academy Sports ain't how you take it seriously.

Who done it? said...

Round up the usual suspects.

Guy snobs are silly bastards! And usually misinformed. Also we got the what when and where isn't something missing?

Anonymous said...

6:49 The only thing that makes that Judge a viable self-defense option is the ability to fire .45 Long Colt. Anyone thinking .410 shotshell loads are good for self-defense is fooling themselves. They severely lacking in penetration in any load in handgun length barrels.

I did have a visit from a burglar one night. the only thing convenient was a model 41 Smith & Wesson in 22LR that I've had since I was a kid. Undoubtedly one of the finest handguns ever made. It served perfectly well.

Any pistol beats a sharp stick and any proper shotgun beats a pistol for home defense.

Anonymous said...

Why no mention of this in the CL?

Anonymous said...

This whole thing smells of BS. Only real part is the parents getting robbed. Wendover has a criminal living in there neighborhood and he is bringing his criminal friends over there.

Anonymous said...

@ 9:54
Didn't you know... the clarion ledger only covers national news rather than local. Most reporters aren't even based here in Mississippi. It's true. Clearly you've not read that rag lately.

Anonymous said...

Ok, starting a timeline bet. When will the supposed kidnapped victim from Ridgeland be arrested for making a false police statement and having his parents robbed at the Jackson Country Club? I say Monday morning.

Anonymous said...

Example of Prison extortion; https://www.al.com/news/2019/04/alabama-inmates-extort-families-beyond-the-walls.html

Anonymous said...

The gun debate is stupid.
The first victim heard things, he said things, criminals had all they needed from him, car, keys, assume keys to parents home, if a security system, it was defeated, maybe they had the code,. Glad he escaped, wasn't killed.
Criminals wanted stuff, were not pure homicidal killers. Glad parents were not killed.
Let the investigation continue, timeline will answer questions. Sad if the guy bargained his parents, it can happen.
Extortion, maybe the guy was talking to Suzie, a little girl, only Suzie was 'sweet face' in cell block 3. Lots of options.
We are our own self defense, accept it.

Kingfish said...

That was a good comment someone submitted. Take out the name in the first four words and it gets approved.

8:14 said “Dude, Academy Sports ain't how you take it seriously.”

Glad someone said it. Now if the local stores could figure out how to hire guys who aren’t total firearm elitist asshats, it would help more shop local. That said, I’m elitist enough to not depend on a Taurus.

Green Acres said...

How frightening for that family. I'm glad that they are okay.

We have a security system in our house with plenty of signs so stating posted on the driveway and around our house. We can light up the exterior of the house by flipping a few switches. Alarm systems and exterior lighting deter thugs who will go somewhere else easier for them.

Husband has a veritable arsenal of guns here. I keep a lady's smith & Wesson .38 in my car on advice of a former police officer. He told me to test how various pistols fit my hands and to understand that if I cannot immobilize or kill them with 3 or 4 shots, then I'd be dead anyway. My hands are small so the S&W fit my grip the best for me. There is no safety on my gun so I leave the first chamber empty in case I accidently drop the gun or something.

Anonymous said...

Good for them. They wore masks and gloves so they wouldn't give the homeowners the Virus.😷😁🔫

Kingfish said...

That .38 is one of the worst guns to get for self defense. 12 lb trigger pull.

The MP Shield should fit your hand just fine and the heavier weight of the upper keeps the recoil down. It's a nice pistol to shoot.

Don't worry about it being a semi. Everyone thinks you have to be Arnold and pull that slide back to hear that click. Well, that is hard for many women. Easier just to hold that slide in place and push the lower with your other hand. Works every time.

Anonymous said...

Picked up the MP Shield awhile back when KF promoted it here. Hard to describe any better feel in my hands... and I own many. In spite of having a safety, It's now my favorite 9m.

Anonymous said...

Doesn’t CCJ have a manned guard shack?

Also, unless you’re very trained, using a pistol in the middle of the night when startled you won’t be very accurate. A short barreled shotgun, like a turkey shot gun with tungsten super shot(TSS like apex made in Columbus, MS), would be much more effective and reduce having to have great aim.

Kingfish said...

Safety? Get same gun but model 10035

Anonymous said...

"A short barreled shotgun, like a turkey shot gun with tungsten super shot(TSS like apex made in Columbus, MS), would be much more effective and reduce having to have great aim."

But, Chuck Conners, its going to be cheaper to replace a flat screen TV than a 4x8 sheet of wall-board plus labor.

PittPanther said...

I can't believe 12:38pm bought a gun that isn't drop-safe. So now in a high pressure situation you have to worry about remembering that empty chamber...

Anonymous said...

@2:48, if someone is in my house, uninvited and at night, the last things I’m worried about is my tv and some drywall...but that’s just me.

Anonymous said...

3:00 No worry. It doesn't matter with a revolver. When you pull the trigger its gonna rotate to the next cartridge every time. Actually safer/easier for some women to understand that you just point & pull the trigger.

Green Acres said...

KF - thanks for the advice. I'll sic husband on that for me. Time for an upgrade.

Pitpanther - the idea is to continuously pump the trigger and empty the gun at the target. No screwing around delay with a safety before you can shoot. And I'm not the kind of person who is likely to drop a gun, LOL, but I guess that can happen to anyone.

" Ok you all know your guns."

"The gun debate is stupid. "

Absolutely !

6:49 PM speaking once more.

I apparently started a macho pissing contest between gun enthusiasts.
That was never my intention.

I shall say little more, except:

A Tarus Judge is my back-up weapon.
Am unplugged Remington 1100 is my first line of defense.
(with buckshot).

"Anyone thinking .410 shotshell loads are good for self-defense is fooling themselves. They severely lacking in penetration in any load in handgun length barrels."

I'm talking about very close range, six feet or less.
At that distance, even .410 bird shot load can ruin one's day.

This is about self defense, not a Delta dove shoot.

" 6:49 The only thing that makes that Judge a viable self-defense option is the ability to fire .45 Long Colt. Anyone thinking .410 shotshell loads are good for self-defense is fooling themselves. They severely lacking in penetration in any load in handgun length barrels.

For the Taurus haters: I have a Taurus 1911 I'll put up next to any mass-produced 1911 out there. (after spending about three months completely rebuilding it with parts from a premier 1911 shop in Arkansas, so that the only Taurus parts left are the slide, frame, and mainspring housing)

" For the Taurus haters: I have a Taurus 1911 I'll put up next to any mass-produced 1911 out there."

I here ya 4:50.

I own two Taurus weapons..
A .38 and a Judge.

They are both solid products.

Granted. I would take my Beretta 9mm out to the range first, but any Taurus is perfect for stopping thugs during a home invasion.

11.10 AM. It’s such a shame that you make that statement without knowing the facts. Perhaps a prayer or encouraging words for the family and police that are working around the clock to round up ALL that are involved. You won’t get your Monday Headline.
I forgive you!

Anyone who selected a Lady S & W hasn't shot it much -- if ever. And I'm a lady who loves and owns multiple S & W revolvers.

My carry gun is a 9 mm S & W Shield, or .357 S & W 940 revolver, loaded with .38 hollow points. (Thanks Cliff Cargill... RIP.) 20 gauge shotgun with 5 self defense rounds and a streamlight for home defense.

12:38, get thee to Boondocks and LEARN TO SHOOT the gun you're going to rely on save your life. Don't let a man tell you what you need. Get educated and pick your own. Then put it in a body holster, that way you'll have it if you need it. Concealing a gun on your person is very doable with any outfit other than a bathing suit, and much safer than off body... where a kid or criminal might find it.

Getting back to the topic at hand, this smells like someone owed a bad person a lot of money they couldn't repay, and was facing severe consequences. Sounds like we'll find out soon...

Best home defense: AR-15 with selector switch => full rock-and-roll. The only difference between old thugs and young thugs is that you don't have to lead them as much.

@7:14 - I've owned my lady's S&W since 1985 and it was the best thing for me at the time. I'm 66 years old, grew up hunting with my brothers, target practicing at a lake dam on our land, and shooting clay pigeons in a pasture. I have shot my S&W hundreds of times and regularly clean it. My gun does not leave my car and I contemplate using it only to shoot a target no further away than 6 feet from the drivers side window. I don't WANT to carry a concealed gun like you claim to do.

And why are you dis'ing KF and other men here for their recommendations of a suitable gun for a female? Chill out, chick.

I hate rednecks said...

Is 8:48 AM a genuine imbecile are is he just pretending to be one on your blog? For the record there's no such thing as a select fire AR-15. There are no new machine guns.Conversions require class b manufacturer's license and more grief from the ATF and you can possibly believe.
If you can pass the NFA background check M16 are available starting about $25,000 dollars plus license registration & transfer fees

Anonymous said...

Attn 2:55. Thank you for reconfirming that Mississippi is still 50th. Imbecile? Look in the mirror.

Anonymous said...

" M16 are available starting about $25,000 "

True.

But why spend that much money when a good shotgun can be had for less than three hundred bucks ?

After all, this about stopping thugs in a home invasion.

Not engaging the Taliban at 35 yards.

Some of you need to actually go to a range and get some training instead of spouting nonsense. Any round that will reliably stop a human is going to go through common residential construction internal walls. Advocating substandard firearms and loads in the hopes that they will not penetrate drywall is fantasy. At across the room distances a shotgun will have a pattern the size of a half dollar to the size of a fist. Many people that actually put their defensive shotgun on paper during a class are shocked and amazed to find out that complete misses under pressure at distances of 5 yards or even less are common. Please stop advocating gimmick guns and gimmick rounds when there is almost 200 years of open source scientific data on exterior and terminal firearm ballistics.

My gun shopping experience at Academy:

Him: Can I help you?
Me: I'd like to buy a Glock 19.
Him: Why?
Me: [confused] I like the one I shot at the range.
Him: There are better pistols. You should buy a Sig.
Me: I have a Sig.
Him: Then why do you need a Glock?
Me: You're right, I really don't need a Glock. Thanks.
Him: No problem. Come back and see me if you ever want to buy another Sig.

I know these people. The suggestion that a family member was complicit in the attack and robbery of the parents is false and repulsive.

Anonymous said...

I heard there was an arrest today - is that right? I am amazed and a little alarmed NONE of this has really been covered in the media. A late night raid on an elderly couple's home in a gated neighborhood and no one is interested? Someone/everyone is working hard keeping it quiet. I understand not wanting to scare the CCJ crowd and if it was a set up it's not as worrisome, but a crime is a crime... isn't it? If those guys had busted up in there and tied up a sweet old couple out of the blue, you can betcha everyone would know. So who is being protected and why?

Kingfish said...

I am reposting a comment without the author's name. The comment was actually copied from a CCJ newsletter/bulletin.

Dear CCJ residents,

I know some of you are hearing this morning of the robbery that occurred at one of our resident’s house last night. Out of respect for the family and the very active investigation, I cannot say much at this time but I can say with 100% certainty this was NOT a random act.
Because of the reaches of this targeted occurrence, both JPD and Ridgeland PD are on the case and both were on the scene last night.
While the neighborhood must always remain vigilant and continue to invest in our security, I wanted to set the record straight that this was not a random act of violence.
More information is certainly forthcoming as this investigation plays out.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
